Christmas Countdown - 2009

Wow, Brent, a high of 45°F? Sweet! It's unseasonably cool here, too, with a high in the low 80's today and in the low 70's by Friday. By Sunday the low is supposed to be in the upper 40's! Of course, that's several days away. Forcasts can change dramatically in 5 days. Still, it sounds great!

That does sound incredily cool for south Georgia. I would not have expected to hear that. I think we're about 15F below average right now. I'm sure that it will warm up sometime next week, however, we're supposed to dip well below freezing throughout the nights near the end of this week.

Hello everyone! Today is another COLD day! It's in the 40s. Christmas is truly right around the corner! I think I might put up a little more Christmas decorations in my room on Friday. I have a yearly goal to have them all up by Halloween.

I don't know about your part of the world, but here in mine, it's been raining since 10 am this morning. Just stopped about 30 minutes ago, but we are expecting more. I believe they are calling for anywhere from 3-5 inches before Friday. I wish it would stop raining. The usual rainfall for this time of year is a total of 37 inches. This year, we hit 59 today. We will get to 70 no problem!

Christmas...I wish it would get here soon...if it was cold, we might have a good snow!!

The weather is cold here today. Woke up again this morning and the heat hadn't been on overnight (until this week we didn't need it on!) and the house is COLD. My daughter is already wearing 2 layers (PJ's, a vest/onesie on top and a pair of tights, and a pair of socks AND slippers, and a winter weight baby quilt) to bed (she's 14 months old) and she's feeling a little chilly when I get her up in the mornings.

Anyone have any ideas? We moved here (a 3 bedroom bungalow thats pretty huge) from a 1 bed apartment this June. I'm so not used to how big this house is. Our apartment was easy to keep warm (the bedroom kept warm overnight last winter since all three of us were sleeping in there and it a smallish room) and this place is so up and down

A month until the Christmas season starts.. We went shopping last weekend and bought some presents for the little one. I was shocked to see the stores are pulling out their christmas stock already

Same here!!

I had to go find my scraper in the garage for the first time this year and pull out the gloves and winter coat ....the only good thing about that is means the season is coming and I'm even sneaking in a bit of Xmas music this morning.

They are talking snow for us for Friday night...Wet snow changing to rain but the "S" word still appears in the forecast! October is flying even faster than the rest of the year has...It'll be Christmas in no time! already have music going almost full time and am beginning to plan our light display for the outside of the house...All is right with the world!!!

Good Morning, Friends.

Another coolish one here where we stand at 55 degrees under very overcast skies with the threat of rain for the next several days.
(It's begining to get progressively more seasonal!)

Our "under a month now" count:
Days to the Season: 30
Days to Christmas Day: 72
That's right, Folks! We are now UNDER a month to the commencement of Christmas Season 2009. Can you believe it??

With that happy thought, let's all meet with Holiday at the Shispering Pines for some traditional mid-week Sweet Southern Tea, Mauradio Sugar Cookies, Carl's special Fall Fired Twinkies and lots of fellowship while we enjoy the view to the weekend from the peak of the week and the peak of the Shispering Pines' rooftop deck.

Well today is going to be centered around watching the announcement of the first class inducted into the nascar hall of fame. The rest of the day will be spent doing laundry and some cleaning. Hope everyone has a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
