Maureen, thank you for the beautiful post! :)

Yesterday, my boyfriends birthday was amazing! His parents are really down to earth and don't really celebrate ANYTHING (no I have to beg them to put out the tree every year every christmas)... So when I got together with him, I really had to reeducate him... Yesterday my work on birthdays finally seemed to have worked! It was amazing :) Now I have to work towards Christmas, though he seemed really glad to receive Christmas mugs, so maybe there is less work then I expected :) I really want him to look forward to the holidays, because I do :P

I wish every one a lovely day!

Got hard acts to follow but here is my special post 3 for the 2010 Countdown to Christmas season cheesy

In the bleak midwinter.................

............when the snow lay round about, deep and crisp and even............

........let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!!!

Why are most of our favourite Christmas songs/carols based on precipitation falling from clouds in the form of ice crystals??!! Let’s face it, if we were going to be more authentic, we’d most likely be extolling the virtues of sandstorms and slightly above average humidity, given the whole Christ based Bethlehem origin of the season and “I’m dreaming of a 85*F comfort level Christmas” certainly wasn’t going to sell Bing many records

For every ying, there is a yang – a heads for every tails. No matter how much fun (or hassle) you get from the slushy white stuff or, in the case of Scotland, lots of icy rain, you always come in from the cold. You find yourself making a hot drink, grabbing a few cookies and settling down to watch it all from the comfort of your own cosy couch with Christmas songs playing softly in the background and your tree all aglow.

At the risk of sounding twee, that’s how I see MMC. Work and the real world and day to day stuff are the cold outside. There’re some good moments (equate it to making snowmen, snow angels and going carolling) and some not so good (hitting an icy patch on the road and sliding into a snowdrift). MMC is my hot drink, couple of cookies and cosy couch – it already comes with the Christmas music! I can relax, recharge and indulge in a little “me” time, psyching myself for the chilly great outdoors once more. It’s my year long Christmas indulgence that doesn’t leave me feeling like I’ve put on 6 lbs!!!!

Making this special post in the final days before the arrival of the Christmas Season proper makes me feel like I can give a little back to the site and people from whom I’ve received so much. I’ve gone a little off course in my ramblings (so what else is new?!) but my wishes to you all are as warm as the chestnuts roasting in the open fire.

Here endeth Day 3 – have a wonderful, wonderful season everybody and, guess what? It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!!
Very nice, thanks for a great post! :snowball:

Good Morning MMC !

I am off bright (well, not really bright as it is still dark out) but early this morning. We have to take a trip to the border this morning to learn all about border crossing and what to do and really important, what not to do.

Have a fantastic day everyone!!!cheesy

This has really snuck up on me, but guess what tomorow night is??? We go to the Trans Siberian Orchestra concert!!
Lucky! I hope I can talk Nancy into going this year. The closest they will be is Columbia, SC, about 2.5 hours from here. I'm willing!
I remember when Crown and I were the only ones there to count down the final minutes over at Christmas.Com.... yearssssss ago....
The countdown has grown in just the couple years I've been here. Can you imagine what next year will be like?!
I downloaded Polar Express yesterday and I am watching it tonight. Pretty awesome that I can now take my favorite movie with me everywhere I go. Man, I love technology.
Right there with ya, brother. cheesy

Maureen! That was well-written and wonderfully original.

And with that lead-in, it's easy to wish everyone a Good Morning!

Let's head straight to our dwindling count (before it becomes a bedpost!):
Days to the Season: 3 (UNDER HALF A WEEK NOW! Can't be!!)
Days to Christmas Day: 45 (A month and a half from today!)
Days to Thanksgiving Day: 15 (Two weeks from tomorrow!)

And more chart material for your enjoyable anticipation.
The remaining special post schedule:
November 11 (Day 2 before the Season) = Auntie = Thursday
November 12 (Day 1 before the Season) = Seawaters = Friday
November 13: CHRISTMAS SEASON 2010 ARRIVES!

Once again chilly here this morning where we are at 43 degrees, currently.
Had a nice 73 degree high yesterday but today is supposed to be in the mid 60's. Still nice for this time in November, of course.

OK. 'Pines time! Carl awaits all comers with Sweet Southern Iced (or hot!) Tea and that one complimentary Fired Twinkie.
He is busy gearing up for Nov 24, the last Shispering Pines open house before Thanksgiving. You don't want to miss THAT visit! (Right, Holiday?)

Have a Wonderful Wednesday, Everyone!

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's nice and cool here this morning, and clear as a bell. My office windows are open and a cool breeze is blowing through. I just ground a pound of breakfast blend coffee and finished my first (of many!) cup. My "Mulled Cider" candle is lit, and it feels like Thanksgiving! It's impossible to concentrate on work, but I gotta try.

I hope you all have a great day! cheesy

Thanks for the post Maureen!

I am jealous of those going to see TSO! They will be here December 19 but not sure we can go. :-? Have fun!

Reading your beautiful words made me feel as cosy as you described it. Thanks so much. You did yourself proud.

Good morning!

Just got home from LC and my errand excursion, I went to the store to buy a new gate to block the doorway since ours broke last night, I came home with a bunch of other stuff but forgot the gate, I would forget my head if it weren't attached sometimes. I found and bought Christmas Bubble lights, I am psyched about that though, a little retro touch for the tree this year. I am about to start decorating again, so...

Have a great day!

Have fun at the Border!!!!!!!

Good Morning Everyone!!!! It's hard to believe that another week is half over. I don't have much planned for today. I want to go through all of my candy recipes and make sure I have everything I need to make them now. Then I may go do some more christmas shopping. I hope everyone has a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow! It's Christmas Card Time already. I addressed all my Christmas cards last night, and I want to get all the insides done tonight. Then I can just take them to the PO when I'm ready.

Hey Made and Coach, I just saw the fight between Jeff Gordon and Jeff Burton that happened here in Texas. That was wild to see between those two. Funny thing is, my favorite driver is Jeff Gordon and Wayne's is Jeff Burton. Our rivals got into a fight!

I use to go to that race every year and have not followed NASCAR in a few years now. The air show we went to a week and half ago is right next to Texas Motor Speedway.

Maureen, that was BEAUTIFUL!! cheesy

Ooh - are you looking for a job??!!! I have so many things you could help out with........heading off to recover the Eastern block in a nice shade of Hunting Douglas; you could do the throw cushions if you like??!!

Well golly, gee, Maureen. Normally I would say yes but.....YAWN!.....it's time for my nap.
