How everyone doing?!
Last week, my son was diagnosed with ADD. He doesn't have the hyperactivity that usually is associated with it, so it's not ADHD. I chose not to put him on the medication because he does not have a severe case. His teacher said she would keep working with him on it. I hope I am doing the right thing. I just don't want to put him on an addictive medication unless it is 100% necessary. In my gut, I feel I am doing the right thing, but a part of me is second guessing myself. I just don't want to make the wrong decision because he is the one that will be harmed if I do.

It has just been bothering me and I guess I needed to get it off my chest.

I totally support you SPF. My sisters son who is now 12 also has ADD. She refuses to put him on prescribed medications. I totally agree with what Jeff said. Kids are kids...everyones different. What's good for one child isn't necessarily good for the other. Alot of times too it's the teachers feelin' frazzled because the child may act different then the other students....this aggravates me! My sister because of my nephews problem of not being able to focus put him on a natural herb pill (forgot the name) but it was 100% natural and it really worked wonders for him with none of the side effects. Hang in there! And stand up for what you feel is right for your child regardless of what the school may think.Happy Fat Tuesday everyone!

Hubby got the baby in the King Cake. LOL! I am suppose to remind him next year about it. Yeah, like I'm going to remember. My memory sometimes is awful.
I am enjoying the Olympics, too. I am a sports nut, so this is great for me. The Nascar season started this weekend, NBA All-Star was the weekend (I like the slam dunk and 3-point contests.), and the Olympics were this weekend. Also, baseball spring training starts Thursday. I am so excited!

Well, I hope you all had a great day. I hope tomorrow will be even better. Take care.
Yes well I believe it's like that here too. But I know that the school here had over stepped their boundaries with my stepsisters son who is ADHD and on meds. He ran out one day so my stepsister sent him to school anyways. My stepsister had to work and couldn't get his medication refilled until later in the day (like an hr. or so after school was out) so the school took it upon themselves to call the local doctors office here to have them call to the pharmacy my step nephews RX. And guess what? They did it!! And I don't recall if it was a teacher or counselor who went and picked the medication up from the pharmacy and brought it back to the school and gave this child one. Let me tell ya...when my stepsister got wind of this oh boy she called the clinic, school and pharmacy and raised cane so to speak. She let it be known if this ever happened again she would sue them and she would own them. I still can't believe they ever did this. I understand this child can't sit still and tends to bounce off the walls but what it really boils down to is the teachers here didn't want to have him being disruptive. They would rather make sure he has his pill and in a slight vegetative state so their day can run smoothly. That's what I think!I'll lay you odds the school didn't make any suggestion about medication....in this state its illegal for a school to suggest any medication for a child....
I have been loving the snow we have got this year. The snow that just hit us February 12 set a record for the most snow in a 24 hour period. We got a foot of it. It was beautiful! I am glad we have had a real winter for a change because it will make me appreciate spring when it arrives.
Enjoy your time off ElfSpirit!
