Hey all. I haven't been on for a few days. My Dad was in the hospital with chest pains. We went down to Windsor to visit. He was out of the hospital and feeling better. He suspects he had a blood clot. The docs couldn't find anything and sent him home. He will be seeing a heart specialist.
I hope the doctor gives him a good report!

I want to apologize for missing the chat tonight, my wife and I ate a late dinner after the kids went down for the night. We had a busy day, we took the kids to the zoo. My older son hasn't had any medication for the last 2 days and he is eating everything without any issues, so we went to BK to treat him to lunch, and then went to the Lupa Zoo. It is a small local zoo, but they have a lot of animals from a giraffe to alligators, capybara, and so on. I will try to post some pics tomorrow. To see the kids faces light up when they see the different animals was just great. I wore my National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation t-shirt in honor of CIJ, and didn't get any comments on it though. I hope everyone has enjoyed QVC this weekend, I only got to see very little of it this year :-?
Hope you all had a good weekend, and now we can say less than 5 months away.
Have a good night!
Sounds like a good day and glad your little one is doing better!
Good morning, Christmas friends!

I'm sorry I didn't get the chance to jump online to the chat last night. I was just soooooooooo exhausted from the weekend with Emma that I couldn't do much of anything! I'm not used to running after a 2.5 year old. I spend ALL of my waking time with her and we play...and play...and play! Then - I spent 5.5 hours on the road yesterday to boot. By the time I got home...I was played out!
The joys of being a grandmother! Imagine I have 3 of them to chase around 40 hours a week! I usually fall into bed as soon as they leave at the end of the day.

Good Morning all!

I think I had too much QVC over the weekend, which is a good thing! I was having dreams all through the night of buying stuff off of QVC! Lol! I didn't actually buy a thing all weekend, I just watched.

My son just started his first day at college, the same college my daughter teaches at. He struggled a little through school but I think he will do better in college because it's a subject he loves, Computer Technology.

I was suppose to keep my grandkids today but their father is off work and will stay home with them. I am not sure what to do today but I am sure I will find something!

Have a fantastic Monday everyone!

The weekend has passed and it is a brand new work week. While that may not excite some, at least it brings us another week closer to Christmas!

Good Morning, Everyone.

I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas in July weekend! Moreover, especially their July 25th celebrations yesterday. In case you have not been keeping track, we are now less than five months away from the big December 25th - Christmas Day! Now, let's get to the count!
Days to the Season: 110
Days to Christmas Day: 152
We are closing in on those double digits! We are now under a week and a half until we reach our next Milestone! Just another reason to look forward to August!

It's not the Carolinas, but we sit at a comfortable 18C (64F) this morning.
Highs should reach about 27C (81F) or 30C (86F) with the humidex. After all the humidity and heat we have been experiencing in Ottawa, temperatures in the mid 80s are very welcome. Enjoy your last Monday of July!

In the words of Crown, "Have a Marvelous Monday, Friends!"

In non-Christmas news, I confirmed my place of residence in North Bay while I am attending Nip*issing University in the fall. I spoke with a nice lady last Thursday about renting a room at her home. I attempted to phone her back throughout the weekend but was unable to get a hold of her until last night. She seemed excited that I was finally able to do so! Anyway, she gladly accepted my proposal and I have a room for $375 per month - all inclusive! Most places in North Bay go for about $425-$450. I am quite excited that it is at such a lower cost.

I hope that everyone had their fill of QVC over the weekend. Most of the time when I tuned in, there were only toys on display. I was more excited to see the decorations, but at least I caught some of them! In celebration of Christmas in July, Kim and I capped off a very lazy day by watching Bad Santa. Although it may be much more vulgar than other Christmas movies, we enjoy the offensiveness. Unfortunately, I fell asleep after about 25 minutes. I was exhausted!

Not much else going on. My new Macbook Pro is currently listed as "Out for Delivery" on UPS. It should arrive very shortly at my home. Thankfully, Mike will be able to sign for it as he does not work until about 5 pm. I am a little excited to get home and play around on it. It will be very nice to transfer the important information and files from my computer to the Macbook though!

That is about it. Enjoy your Monday, everyone!

Wow do I have a lot of posts to catch up on...781 since I have not been on since Friday evening! Merry Christmas in July! My dinner last night turned out wonderful!

No Macbook Pro today. According to my tracking number, my roommate slept through the phone call. I guess they will have to re-deliver tomorrow.

Me too!!!! I dreamed that they had a show of nothing but santas and I called ordered every one of them. Then when they all got to my apartment I realized that I didn't have any room to put them out. So I went to home depot and bought tons of shelves to put up on the walls in my apartment so I could display all of them. cheesy

It is delightfully cool this morning at only 16c ! (makes me think of fall, which makes me think of school starting again, which makes me think of thanksgiving which makes me think I had better reserve a turkey form the farm so I have a fresh one, which makes me think I will get to start Christmas baking soon, which makes me realise Christmas is only 152 days away!!!)
:sparkle:

Have a great day everyone!!!!!

I like your train of thought!!!!!!!!!!!!cheesy

I am glad to hear that you found a place to live!!!!!!!! Hopefully she will love to decorate for the holidays!!!!!

To celebrate Christmas in July I'm listening to My Merry Christmas Radio! Dad is doing fine. We had a busy weekend. Anyone know when the programing/songs change on My Merry Christmas Radio? I mean I love the songs and stuff but I have heard the same ones for quite some time now. Have a good day all!

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!!!!!! Today is a day of rest for me. It was an exciting weekend but also a tiring one. I am going to try and catch up on some laundry today and I will also probably spend some time cleaning out my bedroom closet. Since I went to the race yesterday I am going to fix my christmas in july meal today. I bought a turkey tenderloin to cook and a bag of potatoes to make homemade mashed potatoes. I hope everyone has a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks! I hope so too! I don't know how early she will begin to decorate, however. My placement begins at the end of November, which means that I will be in Ottawa for Nov. 27th until Dec. 17th - when Kim and I will probably return to our respective homes for Christmas. This means that Kim and I will be able to decorate our new apartment together. I prefer that much more! It is funny how all this is all sorting out already!

I dug out my family christmas DVD last night for a quick watch. I usually like to watch it when it is dark and snowy out and the only light other than the TV is the lit Christmas tree, but every now and then I'll dig it out to brighten my mood.
Every Christmas Eve, we have a big family gathering and all of the kids (cousins, neices, nephews) put on a christmas concert. It's a tradition that goes back generations. SOme will bring instruments, other sing songs. It's always a treat. So a few years back, I collected tapes going back to the first year grandpa rented a giant camcorder for the holidays in 1987. I put them all in sequence and got DVDs made for the whole family.
It is fun to watch. They're good memories, but they also put me in a happy place. I can kind of feel like I'm there -- not only Christmas, but for that half hour, I'm a kid again with no worries or troubles, grandma and grandpa are still alive and I can just enjoy it.

Thought I'd share. I'm ready for the holiday season again. Especially because I am a dad now, and I can watch my little Mae have that same wonder and fun at Christmastime.
