Hi everyone... I love the fact that I have a place that I can come to to escape from the daily maddness even if it's just for a few moments. Well just found out today that my dad has 3 blockages in his heart but because of locations of his current stents they can not go that route and he is looking at having a triple by-pass however they can not do that until they get his kidney functions back up.. he is already border line kidney failure. It is such a mess. Looks like he wil be in the hospital for most of the month if not the whole month. Worse case is that we will change our arpund our normal plans for Christmas Eve/Day and take the kids to him in the hospital to celebrate Christmas. At leaset he is in good spirits. I just bought a new camera on Black Friday and my dad loves cameras so when we go to visit him again tomorrow I am bring my camera with him. Tjhis will give him something to explore for a bit... cheesy

well Hope everyone has a nice day...

Will try to post pictures this weekend of our house decorated for Christmas.

Minta, I hope all turns out well for your dad. I will keep him and your family in my prayers.

Hey Crown84, you are a celebrity, MMCR has just dedicated a song to you! Silent Night, by Percy Faith and his Orchestra.
And you so deserve it, you are so totally dedicated to this forum!
You rock our Christmas, thanks!!!

Good evening all,

It was a rainy first day of December, but another day closer to Christmas. I worked until nine, came home and watched the Bruins beat the Flyers. I am working tomorrow morning and then tomorrow evening we are going to the Coca Cola Caravan to see the truck all lit up, I can't wait.
Have a great night!

Big WOW! I used to live in Fredricksburg, then Quantico, and I never saw 70 degrees in December!!! What's up with the weather?

Cherylle in CA

It was 70 degrees today and now it has dropped to 39!

YABBA..

OMG!!! I just noticed that I am "Dang Near Santa Himself"!!! When did that happen?? Whoo Hoo!!

For some of you, it is already December 2. For me, I still have more than three hours to go--EXCEPT before I leave school, I put the next day's date on the board!!! During December, I write the date in red and green to get into a festive mood; plus, I play Christmas music ALL DAY LONG! I am so lucky to be a teacher! I get to do LOTS of Christmas things with 30 kids every day of December--at least up to the Christmas Holidays!

Today was an okay day, took a nap after school so I'll probably be up late again. It snowed pretty hard today which was really nice.. it was so pretty outside and it was sticking to the ground. Then it slowed down and it all melted before school was over, so that was a bummer.
Have a good night everyone

Good Morning MMC !

BRRRRRRRRR I guess I turned the heat down to far last night because it sure is chilly in here this morning. Thankfully my furnace is now working right and it will soon be warm again.

Good morning! Unfortunately it's been so long since I've been here, I'd forgotten my username and password. (I do get the Merry Christmas Radio e-mail updates, but still forgot that I didn't use my usual username.)
LOL What can I say, I'm getting OLD. :???:
This past year I have a new grandson. His name is Zaiden James. He was born August 26. Now dh and I have 6 granddaughters and 2 grandsons.
Last year the day before Thanksgiving dh had a heart attack. This year he had an ICD put in. He's hated every minute of it. He's barely worked this year, and things have been very difficult financially.
We decided to buy only for the grandkids. (Although, I am making a FAMILY calendar for 2011 that every one will get. Complete with family pictures. This project has taken hours, days, weeks to complete. The least expensive part is having the binding and cover put on. Printer ink was expensive, but this was a learning process for me.
I hope everyone has a great day. I have a lot of reading to catch up on in this thread. LOL

Glad to see you back here again and thanks for the update.
My mom also only buys for the grand kids, she has 17 of them and now 6 great grand kids (who she also buys for)

Good to have you back!

Congratulations on your new grandson!

I hope all gets better with your husband and finances.

Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

I woke up with a scratchy throat this morning, but I don't feel bad otherwise. Maybe that's as bad as it'll get (crosses fingers).

I'm still decorating at home. We had new siding put on our house this summer, so all of my old nails that I hang decorations on were pulled. Wife won't let me drive new nails, though. Now I gotta buy some of those sticky-hooks that you can take down when you are done. Grrr. Still, it's fun just fiddling with the decorations!

I hope you all have a great day! cheesy

******* CHRISTMAS SEASON DAY #20 *******

Good Morning, Fellow Season Appreciators and Christmas Anticipators!

Straight to the count this fine, but chilly, AM:
Days to Christmas Day: 23 (Just a little over 3 weeks, now!)

Hey Crown84, you are a celebrity, MMCR has just dedicated a song to you! Silent Night, by Percy Faith and his Orchestra.
And you so deserve it, you are so totally dedicated to this forum!
You rock our Christmas, thanks!!!

Awww thanks, my friend.
Wish I could listen to those broadcasts but my ancient dial-up modem just won't patch it through.
But not to worry, I know the Percy Faith albums well! They contain THE most beautiful Christmas instrumentals I have ever heard in any collection.
But be warned. Faith's versions of Silver Bells and O Holy Night can bring tears to your eyes if you are in a sentimental mood.

It was 31 when I got up and has only risen to 33 as I type this.
(Hmmm.... I seem to recall typing that earlier this week, too.)
At least it's sunny with no wind. I can get some raking done -- again.

You have a Thrilling Thursday Everyone, secure in the knowledge that tomorrow is Weekend Eve and that we are drawing so close to another certain well-known Eve!

In case you don't head over to the "freezing in the UK" thread, this is what we are dealing with just now

We've had this pretty much continuously since the weekend

I have been fighting that for a few days now, has not gotten past the irritated throat thing (lots of vitamin C and hot honey lemon drinks)
we will have to wash our key boards so we stop spreading virus's via computer to each other.

I saw that on our news this morning, they said some airports are even closed. Sounds chilly! Keep warm...hot chocolate by the fire (or next to the stove while baking gingerbread)

Good Morning to all my Christmas Pals,

I haven't been online much lately. DD4 was diagnosed with Asthma a couple weeks ago. We thought she had a very bad cold but one night (11/15) she couldnt get her breath at all and we had to rush her to the ER. They got meds into really quick and it felt so good to see her body relax and begin to breathe again. She is on breathing treatments now. It was a horrifying experience that still brings tears to my eyes. All I can say is I thank God for helping us through it all. She is back to school and things are far much better now. So this is why I haven't been able to share in the Christmas joys with all my pals here. But I am back and ready to re-join all the festivities.

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the most wonderful time of the year. I guess most of you have your trees up and decorations all around. I have missed being here and sharing in everyones festive adventures. I look forward to catching up on what I have missed. Have a Wonderful Thursday my friends. Keep the season Merry and Bright.

I'm glad things are better! I have asthma and my son does too. Its scary when an attack comes on and you feel like you are not going to make it! But I'm happy things are better and welcome back! Its snowing here and we have a light dusting. Ill post some pics tonight of it since I'm at work right now. We have a Santa wreath on the front door and every time we leave my son says "Bye Santa". Then when we come home he says "Hi Santa" haha. Have a great day everyone!
