Well almost time to go home and since this is my last workday until next Monday and since I usually get online only at work, I guess I better give my best wishes to everyone right now. This has been an interesting holiday season for our family. We spent our five day Thanksgiving weekend at the beach, came home for 4 days and then drove to Florida for a week in the Caribbean on a Disney Cruise. Both vacations were fantastic. We had all intentions of decorating when we got home but our baby got sick (still is somewhat, took her to the ER one night; nasty cold that is ten days old and lingering). Plus I got behind at work and had to put in extra hours in the evening. Needless to say 95 percent of our decorations are still in the tubs in the basement and if not for the tree in the window, our neighbors would be convinced we were scrooges because there is nothing else to see from the outside. I am going to try to put up a few more decorations up over the next few days but there are lots of presents to wrap and the Mrs. still needs to work through Thursday so I am in charge of all three kids including a slightly sick baby. This is the least decorated my home has been since my bachelor days in the mid 1990’s.
Anyway, I’m not griping. We had a great family get together last weekend at my brother-in-laws and it started snowing while the kids were opening their presents. Thursday night, Friday morning and Friday night are planned with more great times with the extended family and then we get to spend Christmas day at home relaxing. Well, as relaxing as one home can be after Santa has visited three kids under the age of 7. The wife and I decided not to exchange gifts this year but I’m going to surprise her with a gift card to her favorite department store. I’m still uncertain if I want to spend the money to get premium status here. I do enjoy it a lot and there are many times I have wanted to post in the forums I used to before the change but I’m still not sure.
Merry Christmas to all of you and I wish you a day filled with peace, love and joy. Have an extra glass of eggnog for me.
