WoW!

Xmas Eve just a few short days away, can't believe it!!
Finally, just finished wrapping last night.
Already had XMas with my inlaws this past weekend.

Time to bake tonight for friday night's family event.

Can't wait for Xmas vacation starting end of day Thursday then off right until Jan.
Only two more work days this year!!

Not sure how often I will get a chance to log on in the coming few days.

In case I don't get another chance, I wish an awesome Xmas and Holiday season to all.

Cheers!!

Well all the snow is cleared and now I can rest for awhile. It was a wet heavy snow. Perfect for making snowballs. So everyone is invited over to have a snowball fight this afternoon!!!!!:snowball:

Does anyone have a guess as to how many posts we will reach by Christmas?

Well I just might be getting the best Christmas present from my job. A position on first shift has opened up and I was asked if I was interested in it. I said a very enthusiastic YES!!!! I was told that it was between me and 1 other person, so I have been praying that I get it.

I have been on third shift since I started there 3 years ago, now third shift there isn't a typical third shift it is from noon until 9:00 PM, which isn't bad, but I miss being with my wife in the evenings, and she has been mentioning that she wants me home with her in the evenings as well. So please pray for me that I get the position.

Good luck! I'm certainly hoping you get it!!

******* CHRISTMAS SEASON DAY #39 *******

Good Morning!

Well, all I can say is Wow! We are really closing in now!
Days to Christmas Day: 4 (Barely over HALF a week off. So close I can hear the crackle of wrapping paper!)

Very overcast here this morning, yet the weather service shows no precipitation.
We stand at a chilly 32 degrees at this hour but hope to again reach the 40's by this afternoon as we did yesterday.

Took my older niece out yesterday for lunch and to do the last of our Christmas shopping (for my younger niece).
We enjoyed ourselves and had a good outing like we used to have.
Nice.

You have a Teriffic Tuesday, Everyone.
Remember - special Christmas open house at the 'Pines tomorrow.
You don't want to miss it. An annual tradition, now!

Sounds like a wonderful lunch, Crown! Also, an open house at the 'Pines? I can't wait to see what Carl might be wearing in celebration of the final visit before Christmas!

I'm just back from the beauty salon (color and cut), so nobody can mess my hair up with a snowball!

Well almost time to go home and since this is my last workday until next Monday and since I usually get online only at work, I guess I better give my best wishes to everyone right now. This has been an interesting holiday season for our family. We spent our five day Thanksgiving weekend at the beach, came home for 4 days and then drove to Florida for a week in the Caribbean on a Disney Cruise. Both vacations were fantastic. We had all intentions of decorating when we got home but our baby got sick (still is somewhat, took her to the ER one night; nasty cold that is ten days old and lingering). Plus I got behind at work and had to put in extra hours in the evening. Needless to say 95 percent of our decorations are still in the tubs in the basement and if not for the tree in the window, our neighbors would be convinced we were scrooges because there is nothing else to see from the outside. I am going to try to put up a few more decorations up over the next few days but there are lots of presents to wrap and the Mrs. still needs to work through Thursday so I am in charge of all three kids including a slightly sick baby. This is the least decorated my home has been since my bachelor days in the mid 1990’s.
Anyway, I’m not griping. We had a great family get together last weekend at my brother-in-laws and it started snowing while the kids were opening their presents. Thursday night, Friday morning and Friday night are planned with more great times with the extended family and then we get to spend Christmas day at home relaxing. Well, as relaxing as one home can be after Santa has visited three kids under the age of 7. The wife and I decided not to exchange gifts this year but I’m going to surprise her with a gift card to her favorite department store. I’m still uncertain if I want to spend the money to get premium status here. I do enjoy it a lot and there are many times I have wanted to post in the forums I used to before the change but I’m still not sure.
Merry Christmas to all of you and I wish you a day filled with peace, love and joy. Have an extra glass of eggnog for me.

Hope the baby gets well quickly. I am sure your wife will love the gift card. So thoughtful! The vacations sound like so much fun. Glad you all had a great time. Where abouts in NC are you?

I did not get my license today. When doing the back up portion I hit one of the pylons, not even while backing, I did it when pulling forward to get ready for the back up that I did correctly! If not for that I would have passed.
But, look out next time!

I think you are right. I am orginally from the Cramerton, McAdenville, Gastonia, Charlotte area. I graduated East Carolina University and moved to California shortly thereafter.

Fayetteville. I think another member is around here because I heard it on the podcast.

We've been here in Raleigh since 1968.

I hope y'all have a great evening. My husband and I are going to dinner and a meeting tonight at the Elks Lodge. See y'all tomorrow. Close to 104 posts on the Forum will put us over 300,000 posts in all.
