Just watched History Channel's The Real Story of Christmas (DVR) it was a really good documentary, I'll have to find it on DVD.

Have a good night everyone!
I have The History of Christmas on DVD and watched The Real Story of Christmas recently. It seems it's the same story with very few changes in it in this updated version. It is very interesting and well worth owning. I watch it several times a year. There are 3 other shows on this dvd and you can get a decent price on it. I noticed the slightly updated version, The Real Story of Christmas, is a bit higher. I wouldn't mind owning the updated version as well.

My back really gave me trouble through the night. It might be buried in this thread but I pulled it really bad yesterday and all I did was make a wrong move.

I made the most of being in bed all day yesterday by organizing my Christmas photos in my computer and emailing some out to family members.

I am a little bummed because every year for New Years Eve my daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren come over early in the evening to welcome to New Year. They have other plans and not sure they can come by. I am not mad at them and glad they have something fun to do but just a little bummed. I always have a New Years countdown around 7-8 pm (since they are in bed way before midnight) with sparkling grape juice in plastic champagne glasses. We countdown, throw confetti and make a toast. To keep up the tradition I might pop in over at their house in the afternoon to do a countdown with them. The kids look forward to it. =)

Late night check in,,,, ohhh Whitney.. you just dont know what you are missing.,... DARLENELOVE on the 23rd is one of the GREAT traditions here...

I didn't miss it! I was there. Maybe it was just too late (early a.m.) for me to get excited about it.

Good morning all... I have spent the past few days going over the month of Dec and especially Christmas and I foresee some changes for next Christmas... changes that our family will benefit from but I am not sure some of the changes will be well received from others. Trying to eleminate some of the stress factors and add in more activites that the hubby, kids and I can do together. Already working on ideas and scheduling events for next Nov and Dec and this is getting me excited for next Christmas Season!

hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning Everyone!!!!! We are going to start warming up today!!!!! They are calling for a high of 36 today and rain coming in overnight tonight. I love the cold weather and the snow but we have been running 20 degrees below normal for this time of year. So I will be happy to get back up to normal for awhile. My plan for today is to do laundry and I may go look for some more christmas decorations for next year. I hope everyone has a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning, close-to-the-end-of-2010 Friends.

Yes, the year is dwindling down into a bedpost at a rapid rate and we must bid farewell to this thread/begin yet another: Christmas Countdown - 2011!
I feel it will be another fantastic year!

Cold again with our temp just below 30 under brilliantly sunny skies and no wind.
(It seems unusually brilliant with much of the snow still on the ground to reflect it!)

Don't forget to visit the 'Pines for the final open house of 2010.
And naturally, Carl has a bang-up New Years Eve bash all planned for the 31st, reminicent of his favorite movie, "Holiday Inn".
Snow is promised, of course.
Be there!
(But watch out. I overheard Carl musing by himself using the words "coffee" and "champagne" a little too close together for comfort!)

Have a Wonderful Wednesday, Folks.

Good luck to you on the house!

Hi every one :)
Of course we'll reach our goals for 2011 ;) it will be a great countdown year :D

In a minute we'll be going to talk to the realtor! I'm so excited! I'll keep you guys posted... Have an excellent day!

What a great tradition! I am sure the afternoon would be just as good. Of course you could join us here and we could pop open a virtual something!!! I think it will really be fun. I am not going anywhere. I think I will be visiting my daughter tomorrow to take her some of my teacher stuff that she can use. She works for a group that teaches mentally challenged adults. I have lots of colored dice, games, and worksheets she can use.

Excellent plan, Minta! I might even steal your idea, even though there are no kids at home now. It never hurts to be organized and to make some fun changes! Love it!

Good morning, Christmas friends. It rained most of the night, and the wind blew like mad. But right now, the sun has come out and there are few clouds in the sky. I hope everyone has a great day and accomplishes much!

Nope it never hurts to be organized especially when it comes to major holidays. I am going to add a section in my Christmas notebook for Easter, Halloween and Thanksgiving too.

I bought that one two years ago, I love that one also.

I have two Christmas notebooks, but I did not use them like I should have. Maybe that will be my New Year's resolution! That plus post more on MMC!
