Christmas Countdown - 2011

We got some great news yesterday that I wanted to share! Harlowe just had some more labs done earlier in the week to check her progress, and the results came back with her Liver & Gallbladder in the normal range! Yippee! So ecstatic she is doing better...it has taken 6 months, but it finally happened and that's all that really matters. We're so relieved and happy, the best Christmas present we could've gotten!!!!!!

That's such great news about Harlowe! And what a cutie, too!

Well I just got some bad news. My sister's neighbor has a son that is 17 and confined to a wheelchair because of Muscular dystrophy. They took him into the hospital with what they thought was pneumonia earlier this week but it turned out that it was fluid on the lungs and his gallbladder. Yesterday they determined that his heart wasn't working at full capacity and today it has gotten even worse. Right now they don't think he will make it through the weekend. So if you could just say a quick prayer for him and his family I would appreciate it.

My sincere condolences to the family. Is there an update?

My husband has totally lost all of any Christmas spirit he ever had. He wants nothing to do with getting a tree or anything of the sort. Grrrrrrr

it's been over a week since I posted in here. just alot of things going on in my everyday life that has me not in the so Christmasy mood. just wanna ask for prayers cause I truly believe right now my faith is being tested,HARD!!!

Long story short, my sister isn't going to be able to be here for christmas, we havent seen one another in 20 years. and my brothers wife left him after 4 and a half years of marrage and a almost 3 year old son. he is heart broken as all of us.I'm just numb. he couldn't figure out what he did wrong. and it's just so many things with this story................

I'm so sorry to hear about this. You and your family will be in my thoughts.

it's been a tough year, i lost my precious grandmother in january, my wonderful auntie in june and my dearly loved cousin in november. my aunt and cousin were huge shocks with no warning, they were also far too young to go.

even though this has been a VERY challenging year, my christmas spirit is stronger than ever. i'm enjoying every second of the build up and look forward to 2012, it's going to be my year, i know it! at the very least it can't be any worse than 2011.... can it????

I sincerely hope your 2012 is amazing!!! You definitely deserve it.

It has been such a fun weekend. I went Christmas shopping with my friend Friday then met up with the hubby's back at her house for drinks & snacks. Yesterday one of my best friends & her daughters came over & baked & baked & baked & iced & iced cut out Christmas cookies. I also tried a new recipe (Rachael Ray) for chocolate surprise cookies (they have a peppermint patty in the middle - surrounded in choc cookie dough) Delish!! I just pulled the last batch out of the oven. I am having a coffee & watching Christmas In Connecticut (On TCM) & in 1 1/2 hours I'm heading to my Moms for Candy Day with my sisters & sil! Their house will smell like a chocolate factory! Mmmmm - can't wait! It was also my Dads 84th birthday on Friday so our hubby's will come over later we are celebrating his birthday with a pizza party & of course...candy! Then us girls are planning to go for a walk & look at Christmas lights around town! I better go & get my stuff together!!

I am looking up the recipe for those cookies IMMEDIATELY! They sound amazing!!!

I think they can do it. As much as Binger talks about Darlene on a normal basis and being that it is her special night, he will have no problem. Plus, he will be talking about coffee...often!

He stopped breathing yesterday morning but they managed to drain his lungs and just removed the breathing tube about an hour ago. His blood pressure is improving but it's still not great. It was all the way down to 6o over 35. They are giving him some medicine for the heart but said if he does manage to survive this episode his heart won't last to much longer.
