Today's lesson of experience: Always check your pockets before you do laundry. I didn't, and my little Sansa Clip MP3 player---with an extra MicroSD card inserted---went through the washer. It bricked the MP3 player, of course, but amazingly, the MicroSD card is okay, and I had most of my music on that.

The good news is I was able to get a new 4GB Clip for the price I paid for the old one, which was 2GB. The bad news is, the old one was less than a year old ... oh, well, live and learn.
Maybe I should wash my MP3 player, it is only 2GB and I would like one with a larger file. cheesy I am glad you were able to get a new MP3 player.
Friends, I'm just now getting over the bug that I had the past few days.
I am glad you are feeling better!
Today was a total ORDEAL!!
I hope you have a better day today!
And with this post, Made is poster #9,300. What an accomplishment!! In the vein of Xmas' winnings, Made wins a major award: a paint stir stick from Wal-Mart!!! Wonders never cease!!!
Lucky Made! I hear the ones from Wal-Mart are better than from Home Depot. Yay! cheesy
Best friends for 20 years! we have grown apart and that is sad but you simply are not the same person you were in your teens.
That's always hard. :-?
hmmm paint stick.. hmmmm Opera?

YABBA!

RJD IS MY HERO (so is Binger and Made)!!
Glad you're feeling better, Coach!

Good evening, everyone. Today was a total ORDEAL!! First off, I had to watch a (dumb) dvd for administering the state test. It is a repeat, one that's just not conducive to being attentive. I put it into my dvd player at school and could not get anything. So I went to Wal-Mart to get a battery for the remote. It still wouldn't even power up. Then I tried it on my school computer yesterday, but no go, unless I wanted to pay to download another program. The dvd said that an error occurred and could only be viewed on Windows 7. So, I brought the dvd home and it still would not play. I knew I would have to get up early and see what to do about another dvd at school. The principal sent me to the computer lab, but the computer guy had the computer fixed so only he could get on the one that would play the dvd. The principal had access to his passwords, so she fixed it so I could watch it. By this time, the bell was ready to ring; so the principal said she would take my class so I could view the dvd. I viewed the dvd and went back to my classroom. The kids were WILD when I got back to the classroom!!! I had two kiddos who had to take the assessment in an alternative area. I sent them to the place where they needed to be and started my portion of the test. We finish up except for one girl who took another 40 minutes to complete the test! She pretended to be sick, so I told her to keep the trash can nearby so she could vomit into it. She finally decided she didn't need it! During this, I had to set up my new student who started today! Then, I had a student who started the test by trying to answer the questions WITHOUT even reading the passages. When I confronted him, he said, "Am I supposed to read the story?" I wanted to pitch him into next week!!! I had one student whose mom did not give him his medication today and he was off the wall!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also ended up having to suspend a student because he didn't want to do what he was supposed to do!!! What a day, I tell you!!! Thanks for listening to my rantings. I need to retire!! People seem to have priorities mixed up and want to blame teachers for everything and not accept responsibilities themselves. This is CRAZY!!

Sorry you had such a bad day. We all have them from time to time, but I know that doesn't make you feel any better. Tomorrow is another day!

How is everyone's back?

Mine is a little achy this morning. It hasn't been so bad where I can't get out of bed but just achy.

I hope anyone with their backs out are doing better!

A damp Good Morning to one and all.

Yes, the rain is falling here in the capital city as I type this.
It's a bit chilly too (58 degrees) and won't get much warmer during the day.
(At least no severe weather is forecast.)
Sunny skies are supposed to return for tomorrow.

Onward and downward with our count:
Days to the Season: 193
Days to Christmas Day: 235
The day after tomorrow, Guys -- SINGLE DIGITS to the 1/2 Season Milestone.
Zoundzers!

OK, Folks!
"Rain or shine,
Be at the 'Pines!"
Carl has put togetherr a big post bin Laden party. The tea, coffee and who knows what else will flow like water. Lots of fired twinkies, of course.
(Speaking of them, the 'Pines finally used up all of their excess red frosting so today's batch will have something different. Carl won't say what.)

You have a Wonderful Wednesday, Friends!

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

I stopped in the store this morning to get a sausage dog for breakfast. Bernie said that a group guys that do a hunting TV show offered to take him on a turkey hunt this weekend. They took him out on a quail hunt a couple months ago and he said it was a lot of fun. Anyway, he can't go, but they want my son and me to go in his place! I gotta go wash all our camoflage, and get a haircut!

I hope you all have a great day! cheesy

Mine is still touchy, but it's better than it was. I hope you get some relief soon!

I'll be there with bells on...I'm sure I have some bells around here, somewhere.

my daughter just came upstairs demanding to know what is with the Christmas music?! (listening to MMC radio, currently hosted by elfzachary)
Then she actually wanted me to turn it down, my how the tables have changed, I recall telling her to turn her music down when she was a teenager! cheesy

.
Looking forward to dropping in at the 'Pines tonight to see what Carl has in store!

God bless Seawaters and all teachers for putting up with as much as they do, and then returning to teach another day. Your patience and fortitude are certainly greater than mine!

Maybe you SHOULD try washing it ... I plugged my "washed" one in this morning for the heck of it, and it lit up and began to recharge! So now I have a spare (the clip's broken off, but what the heck). One caveat: I washed mine in a front-loader. I wouldn't try it in a top-loader---the agitator would probably crack the plastic. cheesy

Goooooooooooooooooood morning! About to head off to work, weather is clear, no tornadoes in sight. Just one problem, now they are saying the levee's are weak and we could have some flooding issues.

Darn. If you see a guy on tv with a boat, bat, and glove singing Christmas Carols...you just witnessed the ol' Ballcoach being taken out of town.

I will be praying that the levee's hold!!!!!!!

I know what you mean, being the husband of a school teacher, I cannot tell you how many times in the last ten years my wife has told me similar stories. At some point some parents need to understand they need to look in the mirror and not blame the teachers for everything that goes wrong with the schooling of their children. Teaching is such a tough job, I commend people who go into the profession, it is something I could never do.
