I have read that the PB & bacon sandwich was a big deal at the turn of the century 1800's into 1900's. Salty & sweet do go well together, like salted peanuts covered with chocolate.

I didn't know it went back that far ... fascinating! I had an idea that it was a 1950s thing.

Friends....I always try to be upbeat...I believe in creating your own happiness....that being happy is a choice...but tonight I can't be happy...I don't know who you talk to when you lay your head down at night...but if you don't mind, say a prayer for these people. Right now, that's all some of them have.

I've been thinking about them ... also the folks in Louisiana who may lose their homes because they will be opening the floodgates to ease stress on the levees at New Orleans and other cities. What a terrible spring this is for the South.

It saddens me to hear this! I, for one, LOVE bowling and try to go as often as I can. I'm lucky to have friends who love to go as well, and it would probably devastate me if any of the alleys around here closed down. I guess maybe it depends on the area in terms of how popular bowling is...seems to be pretty good up here (at least for now)!

Do you bowl duckpins there, or regular tenpins? Duckpins was prevalent in Maryland, but I think it went up into Penn. too.

Travis was just talking about this tonight...the bacon ice cream in particular. As much as I like bacon, I just can't see me liking bacon flavored ice cream! =p

The ice cream is vanilla---the sauce is maple-flavored, and it's sprinkled with bacon bits. No, they didn't go so far as to flavor the ice cream itself with bacon!

Heavenly Father,

We know well that you love us all. Please, Heavenly Father, look upon and be with the people battling these terrible weather conditions and guide them with your love and strength. Please give them the resources to be able to survive, Dear lord and in the name of Mercy, please make the rising of the water cease, just as your Son calmed the storm for the disciples. Father please put your loving arms around all of them but especially the children who are suffering greatly. Please, Heavenly Father let all feel your presence and feel your love and strength among them

In the most holy name of Jesus,

Amen ((((((HUGS))))))) xo

Amen.

What a beautiful day it has turned out to be! We went to the estate sale and found an antique chest of drawers and the Gf could not resist so we bought it at a very nice price. It is bright and sunny and the humidity has left and you can feel the warm DRY air which is so nice after the horrid weather we have had the last 2 weeks. My oven still has 1 1/2 hours until it is done self cleaning. I put my lasagna in the fridge..I have bragged to Brandi how good my lasagna is I hope this has not effected the taste! have a great afternoon Christmas buddies!

We are a small community along the Mississippi River. There is another river here that flows into the Mississippi. Several ditches and streams flow into this secondary river. The rain has persisted. Ditches have backed up. Slowly, the waters started to rise. It's just gone up and up. It simply won't stop.

People have been fighting it all week.

The water has just been too much.

There has been many families who won't be able to go back home. We are on the verge of losing a lot more. The heartbreak in their faces, the helplessness...it just breaks your heart. The kids who have lost everything...everything....

It's just not fair. Inch and half of rain yesterday....two more today...

The water has gone up three feet almost in 24 hours....

There are alot of kids that I love being changed by this. No one has died, but it's tragic to all involved, but especially the kids.

I don't know who you talk to when you lay your head down at night...but if you don't mind, say a prayer for these people. Right now, that's all some of them have.

Oh Coach, how scary. Thinking of you and all of those in the affected area. Praying for your safety!

Good evening just after the witching hour,

WOW! Busy busy day here, took almost an hour to catch up on all the posts in ye olde countdown. Extremely busy at work today I must have had 733 things to get done I think I got 732 finished. As a "wise" man once told me "Always leave them wanting more." Hmmm, I could never figure out why he got fired. But my weekend off is upon us, I get so excited to get 2 days off in a row now since it happens so rarely. The teachers dinner was great, teachers are so funny once they get a little alcohol in them. I ran into my third grade teacher, she didn't really remember me considering it was 28 years ago when she was my teacher, she looked the same she was celebrating 30 years as a teacher. We hit 10,000 posts tonight, congrats GBD for making the milestone post, Seawaters will give out a good prize for that one I am sure.

FYI the 10,000th post last year was made on September 13, by Made. 13 is a good number after all.

Have a good night!
We are a chatty bunch, huh??!

AMEN! Beautiful prayer.

good morning again! slept another 2 hours,I think I may go back and try again for a few more. Sometimes I sleep like that all night, wake up then sleep another 2 hours, get for a while and repeat repeat! I went to the grocery store just now to buy some milk and eggs and was amazed how bad traffic was that early on a saturday and forgot the the High school here was having thier graduation at 8 am. It is so hot here and they have it at the football stadium they have to have it that early.:) I think over 600 are graduating just from that one high school, its the biggest one in town by far and the 4th or 3rd biggest in the whole state with over 3500 students. Too bad I don't get into high school football because around here it is all anyone thinks about. MyGf and soon to be Fiance teaches at that high school so Maybe I will get more involved over time..we always win state and national titles! other than that not much more to talk about. I hope everyone has a great Saturday as we enter Mid may this time in a week I can say we are in late may!jeesh I will grasp at anything to make it feel like the passage of time until Fall gets here. But from May on till september that is how I am! I just really dislike summer!
I try to pass the time quickly in the summer months, too! Too hot and sticky for me.. although I do look forward to Christmas in July and my baby's birthday in AUgust! :)

I had the laziest day in the world yesterday. I stayed in my room all day watching tv and surfing the net. I did get several loads of laundry done and cleaned up the kitchen though. It was really nice to just be lazy for a change!

I didn't get a chance to read all the post. I got to get off of here, I have a lot to do today. I hope everyone has a blessed Saturday!
I LOVE those sorts of days!!!

Good Morning, Weekend Friends.

Onward to the count with no delay:
Days to the Season: 183
Days to Christmas Day: 225
TOMORROW, Guys. The half way mark to Christmas Season 2011.
Incredible! Just incredible!

We remain in an unstable weather condition where there could be rain any day for the next five or so.
Intermittantly overcast and sunny right now and 68 degrees as I type this.

Well, lots to do so I'll take off.
You have a Simply Sensational Saturday, OK?
Holy guacamole - time is flyin'!

Hi guys! Rainy Saturday! W oo hoo! We haven't had rain in awhile and pollen was taking over so I appreciate it! I had a "party" this AM - I get a lot of free products in the mail from my blog and different mom product testing companies, so I had my sister and girlfriends over for coffee, homemade cinnamon rolls, and an Old Navy accessories party this am - it was nice! ANd everyone loves freebies, right? :)

Poor Noel is teething so he's not too happy right now... my poor honey. I'm just snuggling him, watching Toy Story 3 AGAIN, even though Jude and my hubby went out to run errands... I cry every time at the end! Never want my babies to grow up!!!!!!

This sounds like the flavors you would have with bacon, syrup, and milk--not unlike a breakfast of pancakes, bacon, and milk!

Do you live by an Air Force base?

Nope just a small regional airport but they are having an air show this weekend. It is really cloudy though so my view from 5 miles away hasn't been very good this year. Here is a pic I snapped of the Blue Angels flying over a couple of minutes ago

They usually fly over my apartments at less than a 1000 ft and it feels like an earthquake is happening. It is really cool to see how close they fly together. I can't even imagine how much focus that takes.

My oven has finally finished self cleaning! I put my lasagna in about 15 minutes ago. I am kind of nervous about tonight. I am going to ask my gf to marry me we have been on and off again this last year!!,and although we have discussed this she has no idea I am actually giving her a ring tonight. Everyone wish me luck!!

Good luck, 'dawg, I hope you get the answer you're hoping to hear! We'll be eager to find out.

ahh okay thanks!! most of the people I have met that attend VSU are the kids from Atlanta..like 50 percent of the student body...then alot are local too..and then even fewer are the ones like you that randomly picked VSU! the reason I asked is because I have been on campus alot lately and noticed the construction they are really fixing it up nice! My Gf was an Education major and graduated spring 2010 so I have met alot of people through her that went there too. The only part of the campus that looks the same is the North Campus by the hospital where the business classes are held..I like change but it is kind of sad to see old buildings replaced!!cheesy

They were starting major construction there right when I left...I went back in October 2009 and hardly recognized the place! I dunno if I would feel right going back and seeing it...I have so many memories there and seeing new buildings would kinda kill it, you know? Your GF was an ed major? I might know her...I knew a lot of the ed majors bc my best friend was one too!

Interesting choices for majors! How did you combine those? And may I ask what kind of work you do? I am curious to hear such things, since I am combining three majors as well, but mine are more closely related (Chinese language, Chinese arts and culture and International Relations, soon I will have my BA degree in these and for my masters degree I can only choose one, so I will pursuing International Relations....)

Well, I actually ended up combining them because at one time, I was just a major in all three, then ended up dropping them...so I had a bunch of credits and by the 7th year, I just decided...hey I should finish them all up! My dream is to work in accounting for a huge tv/film/magazine corporation, therefore combining all 3 of my degrees into one (somewhat)! Right now, I'm the admin for a Kohl's store in my area (Kohl's is a HUUUUUUUGE department store in the US), which at least uses some of my accounting/human resources classes! I would love to get into writing though...I loved those classes most out of my broadcast journalism degree and I love to review tv shows, movies, books, and music albums! Unfortunately there are no outlets here for that kind of thing, so I just keep hoping for something!

That has to be Lowndes High, right? I remember when Valdosta High used to win all the titles, but I think LHS won them the entire time I was at VSU! That school is crazy! Their band is huge...we used to help out with them sometimes and they were overwhelming! lol And yes...I remember when Lowndes High and Valdosta High played every year...people go NUTS! My ex used to live at the apartments right by the VHS field...we used to sit in the parking lot and listen to the people go CRAZY. No wonder Valdosta is Titletown, USA what with all the football craziness in that town! :)

I know exactly what you mean, that is why I am obsessed with pictures! I take them all the time so when things change I can at least remember them the way they were. when you were at VSU was frat row by the drexal park,or on baytree?

That is how it is here in valdosta..you can always tell when VSU is having graduation(which btw was last sat here at VSU) because of heavy traffic increase. I think valdosta and statesboro are about the same size but Ga southern is def.bigger than VSU which has about 11,000 students. When I was going to Ga southern in the 90's they already had like 15,000 back then.DO you live in Bullock county brad? and is it still a "dry" county?hehe

LOL I remember DRY counties!!! Had to make sure to buy your alcohol on Saturday because you couldn't on Sundays! I never understood that! And yeah...when I graduated VSU in May 2008 my parents were overwhelmed with the traffic! It took them almost an hour to get to the university from the hotel...which normally would've taken them less than 5 minutes!!!

He is good too, unfortunately his partner, Kym, was taken to hospital yesterday after an accident during rehearsal. Still have not heard how she is.

I read that this morning, ahhhhhh!!!! I hope she's okay! Or maybe they'll do what they did with Cody a few seasons ago when Julianne was hurt and have another pro step in. I'd love to see how he'd do with Cheryl!!! Still though, I do hope Kym is okay! <3

haha yes you are correct again! valdosta high won all the titles back in the 90's but Lowndes high ended up being awseome the last few years. Brandi did her student teaching at LHS and loved it and ended up getting offered a job there. I bet we have met..lol now that would be funny!.hehecheesy

w I have nothing really planned today..my fiance wants me to go with her to an Estate sale,so me thinks I need to do that! I go with her Tuesday to the Dr for her 2nd Visit. They are going to do a sonogram I will post the picture here if you can actually see it. She is 6 weeks along now.

Is she officially a fiancee now? If so, congrats!!! And yes, definitely post sonogram pics if you can! I love when my friends show me their pics...it's just so awesome to see life growing like that! Travis's best friend even had a video on his phone, I didn't know they did that now! He showed me that at my birthday party last week - definitely an awesome present! Can't wait to have another "nephew"! By the end of this year, we're going to have 3 "nieces/nephews" (we know of 2 "nephews" definitely...one friend hasn't found out the sex yet, I'm hoping for another "niece"!), and another friend is having a baby too...baby fever around my way!
