Well let me make a correction, the ice is pretty bad out there. They are showing traffic at a stand still on the highways. But no word if I am working or not.

Becareful if you go out!!!!!

Good Morning Everyone!!!!! It is going to be a chilly couple of days here in central Indy with highs around 15 degrees. There is some relief in sight with highs in the 40's next week. I don't have anything planned for today. I will probably spend the day looking for new Christmas crafts to do this year. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!

Hey Jude! (sorry, just had to sing that), great picture of the boys! They are so handsome.

Is that an amp in the background?

Good morning, Christmas friends. It is chilly and windy again in northern California. Just wanted to check in before I put chicken and veggies in the crockpot for dinner tonight. Tomorrow night, I will use the leftovers to make creamy chicken noodle soup. Hope everyone has a great day!

Yep! The hubby plays guitar :treeguy:

I'd rather they not be in the MIDDLE OF THE LIVING ROOM (haha!) but the kids love the guitar so ... no biggie, I guess :hello:

.....I am sitting just relaxing watching Santa Claus The Movie before I go to work, I have never watched the whole movie all the way through before. I love how movies that show the North Pole have different interpretations of how the workshop looks, I always look forward to seeing that.....
Then you should be sure to see the movie "The Night They Saved Christmas" with Art Carney playing Santa and June Lockhart playing Mrs Claus.
There are extended scenes showing "North Pole City" and Santa's workshop with detailed explanations of how Santa operates and makes his deliveries.
It was made back in 1984 before the now obligatory crudeness and coarseness.
Pure magic!
It's one of my favorite Christmas movies and one I make it a point to watch every year.

I just started my, Couch to 5k, program. I believe this is what Kerstig was talking about? Blue Christmas mentioned something like this as well. I did much better than I thought I would!

The program consist of walking and running that you do 3 days a week. I plan to do this Monday, Wednesday and Friday. You do a 5 minute warm up walk then run 1 minute and walk 1 1/2 minutes. You keep alternating and at the end you do a 5 minute cool down walk. Each week increases how long you run until you reach 5k consistent running. On alternate days you just walk only so you can rest your muscles.

I walked/ran 1.5 miles in 30 minutes today.

If anyone is interested in this program, here is the link:
http://www.c25k.com/

They also have podcast so you can just take instructions as you go. I did a printout and followed along with the timer on my treadmill so I could listen to music.

Now I just hope I keep up with this! cheesy

Way to go! You can do it!
Good to hear it's starting of well! In Holland we have a saying:
een goed begin is het halve werk!
It means if you start of well, it means you already have half the work done, for the rest of the time you will feel positive!

It is probably not exactly the same, as my program was in Dutch, but i think it is quite simular

! I am thinking of doing something like this, with modifications. And I'll make homemade pound cake and icing because I get a strange sense of satisfaction doing things from scratch!

Hi! I know you asked Christmasstar, but since I am a hobby decorater myself, and work for as an editor of a cake decorating magazine, I thought I'd pitch in!
If you want to make that cake, you could consider using a rolled cake for the engine (instead on cutting out rounds), this way, there is less of a chance it will crumble...

I have 2 how-to's that might help you, one is a very detailed engine, you might be able to use details and put them on your own cake, to make it more fantastic:

and this is a more simple engine, I thought it might help you on cutting your engine cake, especially since this one is filled, which is testing great of course!

lots of luck!

I picked it on my own because it sounded funny, and is a little different.
it does dound funny! (and it fits you :treeguy:)

My wifes grandmother is really sick with cancer right now, she may have only a few weeks to live, a few months at the most according to the doctors. We may not be able to see her before she passes since we don't have passports, but we will be trying to get them as quick as we can, and they live in Canada. I would appreciate it if anyone could send their thoughts and prayers her way.
prayers and good thoughts on their way to both you and her! maybe you could send her flowers over the internet? When my grandmother was very ill, I send her a bouquet of white roses and lilies since she lived far away, she really loved this, and placed them on her bedside table. I know it's a small gesture, but it shows how much you guys are thinking about her...
Hope you can get passports soon!

May I say thank you to everyone for welcoming me to the forum and treating me as if I were a friend - it's touching! Mr. Broderick gifted me a trial platinum membership today. I don't understand how all this works, but AuntieMistletoeDear and Christmas-a-holic did the same thing... And Christmasstars wonderful decor items, and the kindest of everyone is just overwhelming.
I knwo what you mean! These boards and it's inhabitants :P are amazing!! I have only become an active member for less than 3 months (judging on the fact I am still a platinum member), and almost instantly CAH and her husband SIT honored me with a platinum membership! Every one is so kind, I feel genuinely supported by every one during hard times, and I really do feel like a part, even though I have not been here long!
I hope you feel as welcome as I do, and of course, it's great to have you! :D

Oh yes and I'm feeling better and so is William.
That's great news!!

Hi every one, Hope all of you are well!! :) Today had a great day again, I am trying to get to know other interns at the ministry, but I get a little shy.
Tomorrow I am going shopping and having dinner in the evening with my best friend, she is a great person, but she is always lacking luck.. She is always having lots of troubled or ill relatives/friends, I always feel really bad for her, so tomorrow I hope to cheer her up again.
Wish all of you a lovely day/night :)

Aww..You ARE not only a friend but a part of the Christmas family and we all are so glad you are here !!!

Good morning,

Very cold here this morning, below zero wind chills, brrrrrrr. I am sitting just relaxing watching Santa Claus The Movie before I go to work, I have never watched the whole movie all the way through before. I love how movies that show the North Pole have different interpretations of how the workshop looks, I always look forward to seeing that.
I want to thank everyone for their kind words about my wifes grandmother.

Have a great Wednesday!

Still praying for your wife's grandma xo I loved Santa Claus The Movie when it came out !! I thought it had the innocence of Christmas about it in the way Santa is "portrayed" in the movie !!

I wanted to share a quick pic of my boys with you guys! Jude will be 3 in 9 days (ahhh!) and Noel is 5.5 months!

Good afternoon Christmas family !

Well, this will be the 3rd midnight shift tonight. I can't say it has been easy, in fact it is quite challenging. Isn't that what life is all about sometimes, challenges ?? I am thankful to have found another job and so quickly. I am tired but I am sure I will adjust !!

I hope everyone is doing well today. It is so cold here !! It started out at 10 degrees this morning !!d

Have a wonderful rest of Wednesday Christmas family ! xo

It would be hard to adjust to that shift. It will take some time but I bet you will do well once you get adjusted. =)

Well just got home clearing snow again another 6 inches of snow here. Beats the foot and more I am hearing about to the south of me. Oh well suppose to warm up some over the weekend they say. Might even go out on the deck and work on my tan if it does.
