Hello
To everyone getting snow - please be careful! Back home in PA, word is they're supposed to be getting snow...so glad I'm not there right now! cheesy We've been dealing with rain all day here in Gainesville, which has really helped put a damper on what was supposed to be a good day. :-?
The dress shopping went well, but could've gone a lot better. Megan kinda is depressed over it...she said it only felt like she was playing dress-up and not really going WEDDING DRESS SHOPPING, which is what she thought she'd feel. I couldn't really say anything to her, because personally I had a great time!! Her mother though...the woman couldn't even fake a smile and the whole time just complained about the money Megan would be "wasting" and how she didn't want to be there...I think that's another reason Megan is depressed. I'm not normally a violent person, but her mother really made me want to get to that point! (She reminds me a lot of my own mom, who I have told up front I don't want her going dress shopping with me when the time comes. I don't want that kind of negativity during a time that's supposed to be fun and happy.) Maybe that's a bit harsh...but I can't imagine a mother being that way during this happy time.
Meg did find a dress she really liked, but due to timing circumstances, it wouldn't be ready by the time she is getting married in September. For anyone who's interested, the dress is here:
http://www.morilee.com/bridals/bridal/2172 (the one she tried on in the store was gold/silver colored, but it looked more like champagne). We also found a very strong contender for a bridesmaid dress...you can see it here:
http://www.jasminebridal.com/J_2_1_...006&j_line_no=LINE20080821017&j_line_season=F (the color she wants is on the color chart under Peony). So while it was a productive day, it's sad that she feels the way she does right now.
Tonight we'll be going over to some friends' house to play Dance Central on their new Kinect. I'm the only one who's played before so I'm very excited!! Have a good night, everyone!
