Long night with not much sleep - I believe a nap is in my future today! There is a light dusting of snow on the ground - it should be gone in a few hours.

The race wore me out yesterday. I fell asleep by 8:30 pm and didn't wake up until 6 am. I slept soooooooo good!

My daughter and grandkids were unable to come to the race yesterday because my 7 year old grandson is sick. My daughter told me my 5 year old grandson said, "grandma can run fast"! Ha ha! I am actually a slow runner right now but I am glad he is proud of me. cheesy

We did the grocery shopping this a.m. It is so tough with the boys sometimes. Otherwise it has been a slow day here. Will be getting up to make dinner in a few minutes.

Don't mind me as I blow by with a friendly helllo.

Wowzers! Tornadoes everywhere in east/central NC, including at least one that went right through Raleigh. My sister, father and I each have separate homes and my niece lives in one of the NCSU dorms but none of the 4 areas was affected, fortunately.
(I KNEW I shouldn't have started my post yesterday saying I knew it was going to be a good day. Jinxed us, I did!)

In contrast to our violent weather, the gentle count just breezes along:
Days to the Season: 210
Days to Christmas Day: 252
SINGLE DIGITS now to the 1/3 Christmas Day marker!
And tomorrow we will also be down to SINGLE DIGITS to the 200-Day Season Milestone.
Wow. We are close to getting so mile-stoned as the end of the month approaches!

It's sunny and above all CALM here in the capital city at this hour where we stand at 56 degrees on the way up once again to the 70's by this afternoon.

Crummy day here. A trip to the E.R. for Mr. He has a bad cold and his fever went to 103, but they got it down to normal in a few hours and got a couple liters off fluid in him (he was dehydrated from the fever). I hope I don't get it next. I'm glad we both have a long weekend for Patriots Day.

The kids, and my wife are on spring vacation up here, then countdown the last 2 months of the school year. I don't have another day off until Easter. :-?

Hey everyone! Sorry that I've been MIA for a bit! My new chick-fil-a store opened this week on Thursday and I've been crazy busy with that. I think I logged about 70 hours this week with only about 20 hours of sleep total all week. Our store logged amazing numbers and we are officially the #7 CFA grand opening of all time! Yay! However, I'm exhausted!!!! Thank goodness we are closed on Sundays - I neeeeeeeded the day off so bad to see my family and rest and nap and nap. But I'm extremely proud to be a part of this! It was so exciting and everything went so smooth!!

Anyways, I feel like the count to Christmas jumped way far while I was away. Its so exciting to see us getting so close to the milestones! I've been using my TSO cds to keep me awake when driving home at night from work. They serve two purposes - to keep me in the Christmas spirit AND to keep me awake when driving after all these long days LOL.

Today is my 6th wedding anniversary and the 13th anniversary of being cancer free. So a pretty special day!

I'm glad to hear everyone stayed safe in all of those storms that were so destructive over the last week. How scary! This has been a very rough winter turned into a very turbulent spring for many of us. What on earth could that mean for this summer? Will we finally get a break or should we be preparing for a long, hot, stormy summer too?

Speaking of tornados, I just found The Wizzard of Oz on tv! I haven't watched that in a long time - I think I'll go tune in and veg out a bit more!

Hello all!

Happy to report that Kohl's was open today, as well as a few other department stores in the mall, although the smaller mall stores themselves were still closed. The weather was nice today, no more wind or tornadoes thankfully! There is still a bit of damage around but I was surprised how much was cleaned up in such a short time! Thank you to everyone who sent well wishes, and I'm SUPER glad that everyone who was in a worst part of the storm (especially Crown, right in the middle of it!) is okay!!

Laney - Happy Anniversary! Hope you had an incredible day.

Compared to yesterday, today was laid back. Had lunch at Sonic (one of my favorite fast food places ever!), went shopping, then spent the majority of the day at Travis' parents place celebrating his mom's birthday. I'm super exhausted right now, which I guess is good since I have to be up around 5am tomorrow. I hate Monday mornings!!!

So, two years ago I stumbled onto this site and found Made. Since that day, I have been so blessed to meet each one you. Made, you my friend, have made it worthwhile....so thank you. But Dec. 23 and, Binger, and us has made it awesome.

Funny how friendships form. I think of you guys as much as I think of my hometown friends! Seems like I am with you as much as I am with them.

So, I just don't get it! When my dogs are asleep, I don't start running around the house yelling and screaming! Why, oh why do they do that to me on a Saturday morning? When I get up to let them out...they look at me as if to say...."Why don't you go outside Dude....it's cold!" I love them, but today when they are napping, I'm going to bark as loud as I can....maybe my wife will think I have officially lost it!

Can you guys believe we are 1/2 way through April? I can't! April is exciting to me because we get into the 100's for the season, but we also get under 100 days until I start preparing for Christmas. I start doing something on the weekends during August, so it's right around the corner for me....just a little over 100 days!

Good evening, everyone. Big black clouds are gathering here in northern California. It is supposed to rain, but we will see. We had a great weekend with good food and a good social time. And I found out I must be a princess. I am sure there was a pea under my mattress, because I was not able to sleep comfortably all weekend. I can hardly wait to catch up tonight. We came home via Chico and did our grocery shopping as I plan menus for about two weeks at a time. I read EVERY post that I missed while we were gone, so it it good to be caught up. We are close to another posting milestone. But better yet were all the milestones that happened while I was gone: Congrats to CAH! Congrats to Laney. Congrats to CM3 for a good night's sleep. (I, too, went and bought the Melatonin before the weekend. ) Congrats for all the anniversaries and birthday celebrations. I love it when you can take a kid to a kid-friendly place. I am sure I have left something out, but I will retire for the night! Oh, yes, congrats to Ballcoach for being poster #8,100.
