Christmas Countdown - 2011

Hi guys!

It has been a very busy yet incredibly fun weekend! Friday night we went out with friends to celebrate two friends' birthdays, and ended up doing a bar tour of sorts (I had no idea this small town even had more than 1, haha!). We had a great time, and I was officially asked to be a co-maid of honor for one of my best friends' wedding in April! I'm really excited and happy, and the other co-MOH is awesome too, so it should be a great experience! Unfortunately I think something I said made my friend think that I was upset at being a co-MOH rather than the only one, so part of yesterday was spent trying to make that situation better. I'm still feeling really bad about it, but I think it's more that I hate being misunderstood because I have a sarcastic sense of humor and it's gotten me in trouble more than once. Sigh.

Yesterday was my "brother"'s (very close friend for years, he really is like my brother!) birthday celebration and "End of the World" party (we make light of it because I think all these predictions are bogus!). Six of us went out to hibachi, which was an amazing experience, especially for the two who had never been before. It's my personal belief that everyone should have a hibachi experience at least once in their lives...it's not every day that someone shoots broccoli and sake in your mouth! After that, we all just hung out and played games and talked...we always tend to have Uno marathons that last hours! In fact, the game last night lasted over an hour before we finally called it quits with no winner!

Today we are heading over to my parents' place to hang out, then go get Taco Bell with some friends. I always tend to want TB after a weekend like this! But it has been great and the weather's been amazing as well!

Guys today is probably going to be my last day posting until early October. Tuesday I have to start staying on base to train for our mission in Bosnia,and I officially leave June 5th. I can't tell you how much I am going to miss this place! I will miss every single one of you guys...when I come back in October there will be so many new posters and the holiday season will be here as I count halloween season in with the rest of em! I will have MMC withdrawels for sure the next few days!

We'll miss you too! I'll keep you and your family in my prayers. Stay safe, and we'll hear from you again in October!

this is right in front of my bedroom so when the window is open it smells so nice in the house!

Beautiful pictures, Christmasstar! My house smells like the lilac bushes that are in full bloom outside my windows.

Oh...it really is! This year I will take pictures of it! In 2010, I got a picture of the huge Christmas Tree they put up - but I took it on my BlackBerry and the quality is not that good. This year - I'll actually take my camera!

I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures!

I know...just stay away for a day - and there is a lot of catching up to do! But...what fun it is!

Its funny...I've been waiting for beautiful weather like we had today for such a long time (it was a long and very cold and bitter winter)...but I cannot help but dream and think about that first snowfall...the Christmas season coming upon us...red and green decoration. I guess that's part of what makes me a Christmas person who carries Christmas in my heart all year long! I guess that's part of why we (at MMC) are all Christmas people...

Oh...the 80's! Love it! Its funny you mention this because I saw an article on Bon Jovi this morning - and they were on of my FAVES (still are)...all the way back to "She Don't Know Me" that came out in January 1984 (I was 17 at the time) - before they were even popular!

Good afternoon, Christmas friends. I hope you are enjoying a great weekend!

Yesterday I didn't get a thing done as I spent the day at the hospital. My cousin was taken to the ER early in the morning and a few hours later she was rushed into surgery where she had her gallbladder removed. She came through okay and is actually being released as I type this. She has a follow-up visit with the doctor in a week to check to see if there are any stones or stones starting to form in her bile ducts. I'm so relieved she finally went in - she has been dealing with this problem for almost two years. She thought most of her symptoms were due to the amount of stress she was under because of her children so she never wanted to go to her doctor when an episode was especially bad.

I am so far behind this week already! I have to add in staying with S and helping her to all the other stuff I have already scheduled. It will be an interesting week!

Yesterday I did find two of Willa's kittens. They are getting so big! One of Tiger's kittens has been getting special food because he is so small, fits in the palm of my hand. He comes running whenever he hears my voice. Unfortunately, he thinks his name is Baby. I hope to change that in the weeks ahead as I rarely name a cat a cute name.

Well, it is clouding up and I have to see if I can get "Baby" to eat.

Create a notepad or word ducument folder (2011 Christmas Countdown Thread).

Copy & Paste a current "marker" from the web address bar along with the date.

Example:

05.22.2011 - http://mymerrychristmas.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23584&page=1074

Then copy and paste your page marker back into the address to log in to MMC and go straight back to your last Countdown point. The used marker(s) may be left in the folder to create a check in log or deleted and replaced with a new date and marker.

An alternative is to simply copy and paste the marker into your notes area here. However, you will have to log in to MMC first without benefit of going straight to your last point.

Well my oldest niece is in the ER with possible appendicitis. She was complaining of her stomach this morning when she got up and the pain just kept getting worse throughout the day and she developed a fever of 102. The doctor in the ER just sent her down for a cat scan so hopefully we know something soon.
