I finally took some time out after dinner to do a little holiday baking for the freezer. I made some mini gingerbread loaves that has left the entire house with the most incredible smell of Christmas in the air. LOL I kept one out, for quality control of course, and put the rest in the freezer. I lost control tasting, but the quality is fantastic. These will be handed out to the kids (adults) after Thanksgiving dinner to kick off the Christmas season.

I also made some chocolate covered peanut/rice crispy balls. They are delicious but I do wish I would have covered them in Christmas sprinkles for an eye catching holiday treat. It's okay; somehow I don't think they'll make it through August let alone for a holiday.

Holiday baking has somehow gotten overlooked, bypassed or a rushed tradition that I do love so this year I'm making sure that it doesn't get forgotten in all the hustle and bustle of the busy holiday season. I am a baker/cake decorator by trade so I need to treat myself and my own family this year.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far.

My sons' grandma (their father's mother) passed away today. She's been sick for a very long time. Its been many years since I've seen her - but I still feel very sad...and I feel very sad for my boys.

I'm so grateful for my family. I would do anything for them. I don't know what I would do - or where I would be without them. I am truly blessed...

Wishing you all a merry evening...full of sweet dreams of Christmas!!!

I'm so sorry for your family's loss, ChristmasHeart - I'll keep them in my prayers!

Good evening, everyone. I worked at school again today. Almost have everything moved out of the old classroom. I will spend the rest of the week and weekend putting things away. I sort of hurt my ribs again, but I don't know how. I think I twisted around too hard. I felt quite a bit of pain when I stopped at the Farmer's Market on my way home. It really hurt to walk, and all I was carrying was a $10 bill!!! We are really flying along in the count. You guys are so WONDERFUL!!! But, of course, you already know that!

I hope you are better soon, Seawaters!
Farmer's Markets are such fun - I'm always amazed at the variety of produce that is grown in the area.

Good morning, Christmas Family!

I hope everyone is doing well!!!!!

I have finally caught up on all the posts. It took a while as I have been taking care of the fur kids, too. Maui is happily stuffing herself right now - she gets a big tablespoon of Fancy Feast Medleys - any of the Florentine varieties except for turkey - on top of her crunchies every morning. If I don't give her the canned stuff, she is grumpy most of the day.

Bo is waiting patiently to be fed - he refuses to go out, though, so I'm not sure what he thinks I am going to do for him. I won't feed him in the house - he is too sloppy and I don't want ants coming inside.

Yesterday was a lot of fun - just hung out with friends. One of them had a phone call, and I almost fell asleep on the couch - very unusual for me to do. Later on, while she and her daughter were making pizzas, I used her computer and worked a bit. Got quite a bit done, so I just might be able to take off on Saturday to go to the store. I still have to go there, but I can take my time and maybe look around at the other vendors' booths and see what they are selling and for how much. I'm not spying, I'm getting ideas cheesy

Have a great day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe it

I can't believe that it's only 142 day left untill christmas im so excited im already thinking about all the crafts and cookies i can do and bake ...this year will be more fun now that i have a daughter and husband to share it with

Good Morning, fellow downhill-slope-to-the-Weekend Friends.

Indeed, we are "over the hump" (or humps?) and coasting downhill to yet another weekend.

And pondering this should make the trip even more enjoyable:
Days to the Season: 101
Days to Christmas Day: 143
TOMORROW!!
The 100-day Season Milestone!
Be here. You don't want to miss this one!
(Come to think of it -- you don't want to miss any of our milestones!)

Well, Carl outdid himself yesterday.
In light of the passing of last year's thread post record (which Carl says he had already calculated would occur on Wednesday, open house day at the 'Pines) ALL the Fired Twinkies and Twinklings you could eat were free with the purchase of a single glass of Sweet Southern Iced Tea (um.....or Coffee.....your choice).
That sentimental -- and generous -- camel!
I heard this came out of his own pocket.
(Hmmmm......Do camels even have pockets?)

Anyway, you have a Thrilling Thursday, Everyone, secure in the knowledge that tomorrow will be Weekend Eve once again.
Keep the Christmas faith!

Of course the ONE night I had to work and Carl gives out free Fired Twinkies. Of all the luck.

Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

I made laps around the county yesterday evening, working on my sign rental business. But, at least I'm working, eh? Elizabeth had to be dropped off at a pool party, then picked up at a certain time, and Nancy was out of town. So, back in the truck. It think it's time for another oil change!

I hope you all have a great day! cheesy

I stopped at the Pines tonight, and I thought Carl was going to carry me off! All he wanted to do was to show me a contract for The Hammy Camels and himself and get my opinion. He thought I would be a good reader. I told him I will send it to my brother-in-law who is a DA and see what he says. He was so thankful. Have you ever been kissed by a camel??? What about you, CM3?

Get him to put in a clause (Claus?) guaranteeing the band will record for MCR ... and an annual live concert at the Pines.

I have now reached 20,000 posts!

WOW, Xmas!!! Biggest of congratulations!

Big congrats, xmas365! Obviously Belkin was trying to keep your from your milestone, but you thwarted them.

Seawaters, you're pretty close to 20,000 yourself, y'know. We'll be cheering you next.

Excellent idea about the contract clause, which we will deliberately spell claus!!!

Good morning, Christmas friends. It is starting out cool, but I am positive it will be hot! Really? Yes, indeedy! Time to head out for school to try to complete all the moving. I will be so glad to get settled. Maybe today. I am glad everyone had a delicious time at the Pines last night. Hope everyone has a great, cool(er) day!

It's a great day! Just got back from court and the judge has terminated our foster baby's parental rights so she is officially ours. The adoption should take about 6-9 months of just paperwork. No more court dates. The hard part is over

How wonderful for you. Congratulations!

I hate rushing through all the post but I have a lot to do today and don't have a lot of time. Sorry if I missed some important news!

Great news Murphman!

Congratulations xmas365!

Have a great day today!
