I finally took some time out after dinner to do a little holiday baking for the freezer. I made some mini gingerbread loaves that has left the entire house with the most incredible smell of Christmas in the air. LOL I kept one out, for quality control of course, and put the rest in the freezer. I lost control tasting, but the quality is fantastic. These will be handed out to the kids (adults) after Thanksgiving dinner to kick off the Christmas season.
I also made some chocolate covered peanut/rice crispy balls. They are delicious but I do wish I would have covered them in Christmas sprinkles for an eye catching holiday treat. It's okay; somehow I don't think they'll make it through August let alone for a holiday.
Holiday baking has somehow gotten overlooked, bypassed or a rushed tradition that I do love so this year I'm making sure that it doesn't get forgotten in all the hustle and bustle of the busy holiday season. I am a baker/cake decorator by trade so I need to treat myself and my own family this year.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far.
