That was a good game today. It looked like texas was going to pull off the win at halftime but the hogs fought back. I wouldn't want to be in the A&M locker room this week.

It's homecoming at church today, so our regular 9:30 service is at 11:00. I just put on a pot of coffee and I think I'll sit on the front porch with a cup since it's so cool outside. It's in the 40's!!!! I love it!

It's 48....coffee hot....fire pit going....I love sitting on the deck during the spring and fall...can't beat it!

Great lazy Saturday! Laid around, took a nap with the wifey, went out to eat with a friend, but missed Hobby Lobby. Darn!

Bout to put breakfast on and start on that potato soup. Going to play outside sometime today, but I'm going to plan my day around the Cowboys. Hope everyone has a great day! See you tonight!

Began the morning with a taste of Christmas, a hot chocolate with a candy cane in it (took Made's suggestion from Countdown 2010 of saving candy canes from last Christmas), my boys loved it. It was LC's first time ever having hot cocoa, I think he has a new favorite. Just getting ready for my wife and I first date in months.

chilly morning here at only 4c. Looked like we may have had a touch of frost last night.

I had to scrape the windows on my truck this morning before I went and got breakfast.

back from church, it has warmed up a whole degree! definately fall, love the cool weather. Furnace on for the first time this season (usually do not put it on until at least the start of November)

Good Sunday morning, my Christmas friends!

It was a busy day yesterday, working at Bernie's Store and doing some of my side business stuff. But I got through it! Bernie is back to normal, and Mrs. Hilda is getting better, too. We're going there for dinner today, since my mom left for Myrtle Beach, SC for the week.

She just got back from Hawaii, Now she's in SC, and next week she leaves for a month in Maggie Valley, NC. She really has gotten the travel bug since she retired. I told her just to let me know when she crosses state lines so I'll know where she is!

The past week was really stressful, but it's nice to have the weekend right now!

I'm predicting that this week shouldn't be as stressful, and hopefully I'll have enough time to catch up on some much needed book reading! :grin:

Poor Wayne had another rough night. No throwing up but his stomach was bothering him real bad and he had heartburn. I stayed up with him a lot last night trying to take care of him. He told me he would be ok that I needed my sleep but I just can't do that if he is uncomfortable and hurting! I guess it's the "mommy" syndrome taking over. :wink:

We will not be going to church today and I am going to make him some homemade chicken and rice soup before I go to work. Hopefully that will settle his stomach.

I won't miss the Cowboys game today because we always have it on at work. I hope they win again!

Hope he feels better real quick!

we had hot chocolate when we got home from church, unfortunately I had no candy canes! I think I will check at the $ store and see if they have any yet.

I just opened my first box earlier this week!!!! I kind of forgot about them over the summer.

Another gray day, but a tad cooler. I need it a little cooler yet so I can enjoy some hot cocoa---you folks are making me crave it! Busy-work today updating Mr.'s website, preparing more clips for our Christmas gift DVD, and doing some work on a new podcast segment. Have a relaxing Sunday, everyone!

book reading , always a great pastime for relaxing and loosing yourself in another world! I love to relax with a good book.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. Ella goes to the vet on Weds of this week. I will hopefully have an update then. The lump hasn't grown at all. I will keep everyone updated. Somehow I missed putting Snowflake's quote in here - thanks to you too!

can I please ask You guys to pray for my daughter Kandice too? She had the most horrible screaming attack due to a terrible headache...now I dont know if it is a migraine...or if she was just overly tired...it was just heartbreaking to see her in pain......I cried after she fell asleep, too......so prayers would be highly appreciated

I said a prayer for Kandice, then saw later on in the thread that she was feeling better. I too have migraines and actually take a medicine everyday to help prevent them. I hope you figure out what is going on with her soon.

On the bright side, applied to a trucking company that my friend works at to try and get a job as a driver of straight truck / van. This is much more to my liking than the big semi truck that wanted me our 24/7.
The smaller trucks will have me home most nights, occasionally I will be over night somewhere. Most trips will take me to Detroit, Chicago and Ottawa areas.

Well my niece's allergic reaction keeps getting worse. She has come home from school the last 2 days because it has been itching so much. The School won't give her any over the counter medicines and the doctors won't give her a prescription because she just had a 500mg dose of steroids. My sister is trying to get her in the allergist before they go down for her next infusion next week. On top of all that my nephew had a boy in his classroom come down with chickenpox so my sister has call the RA doctor to let him know. With all of the different medicines she's on it limits her immune system and she needs to be treated if she comes in any kind of contact with it.

This is the arm she got the IV in and her face is all broke out too.

Made: So sorry your niece has to continue to go through all of this and your entire family. I was glad to see further down in the thread that she is starting to feel better. Hopefully her next infusion will go better. I will continue to pray for her and your family!

Praying for Ella....I know how scary it is xo My Ridgeback, Clancy just had a baseball sized tumor removed from her tummy -It was a lipoma so hopefully Ella's will be the same......Clancy is also 5 xo

Thanks CM3. I am sorry Clancy even had to go through this, but that it wasn't too much for you guys to have to worry about. I am hoping the same. I will keep you updated!

It's going to be another hot one! 101 & Sunny today. Craziness, I say!
I go to the airport tonight to pick up my sister- I'm so excited to have her here!!
Thanks again for all of the thoughts and prayers for Harlowe. I spoke to her vet last night, and she wants me to bring her in this weekend for complete labs. She did say that a bug was going around, and that she's seen quite a few dogs this week with stomach/nausea issues. Hope it's just that. It's been difficult to get her to eat, so she'll on a mild diet for a bit. I'll keep you posted on the results when I get them back next week.

Hope you have a great time with your sister and I will continue to pray for Harlowe. Please do keep us updated. Hopefully it is just a bug!

Good morning everyone....I would like to ask that you all say a quick prayer for my sister. She lives in Texas like 1000 miles away from me...and she was suppose to have routine surgery this morning but before they could start it she began vomiting blood and she stopped breathing which is confusing to me because I thought everyone was a a respirator during that time..anyways I feel helpless because I don't know how accurate and complete my mom is being with me. SHe is in the ICU unit until they find out what is wrong with her...TIA Christmas family...

So sorry this had to happen to your sister, Dawg. I was glad to see later in the thread that she was discharged from the hospital already. That is a wonderful sign. Pray that everything will go okay next time.

I'm glad your first day back was great and you were able to get back into the groove quickly. And I agree about Kohl's, and not just because I work there! =p

My mom and I had lots of fun yesterday! It was only a high of 43 and raining all day, but it was nice to spend the time together! I actually love nights - I am not sure sometimes how I do either, but I manage!

Hi everyone! So I am finally caught up! I go back to work tonight...after really only 1 1/2 days off - I dislike weekends like that. Anyway, I am about to get Minestrone soup going for dinner and I want to also bake some type of Apple cake for dessert and to also take for work tonight. I going to take a pizza dip for work tonight too - I feeling generous! I hope everyone is having a great day. I'm watching the Steelers game right now and they're not looking so hot.
