Good morning, everyone!

I have a small favour. A good friend of mine – whom I have not seen in a couple years – from back home in the Sault has been diagnosed with cancer. He is only 29, but he is in the fight of his life. I have no doubts that he will defeat the cancer, but I know that you guys are incredible at helping with these unfortunate events. With that, I ask for any kind of assistance you can give.

Have asked the secred heart and st therese to help him.
Sugar hope you be better soon and your kids and bubby to
:merry:

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been absent from the thread for the past couple of days, but I am off today, so I plan on getting caught up. I was busy with work, plus I haven't been feeling well. I've just been really nauseated and have bad heartburn - still do. I just wish it would go away!

Hope you are feeling better soon!

Personally, I am a little shocked at the diagnosis as Joe is entering the prime of his life, especially since he has never smoked a day in his life – and he very rarely drank (he could only handle one or two beer in a night! …But cancer is a disease that can happen to anybody… I spoke with Joe last night and he is in great spirits. He has always been a strong-willed individual – overall, a great person to be around.

Please, send anything you can Joe’s way. I know he can pull through this, but your re-assurance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, friends!

Prayers and well wishes going out to your friend.

See you at the Pines!

This is for you Maureen for your snowfall, and also for you Binger, for obvious reasons.

Hope joe, roundhouse kicks cancer right in the rear! Bless him & his family!

Sending a prayer for Joe right now. Good thoughts and postive vibes, too!

Thank you, Brad!!

I don't want to go that retro!!! My 94 year old neighbor always likes to tell me about how he broke his arm trying to start his car with one of those.

Now that must have been quite the experience. Hopefully he can that story for many more years!

See you at the Pines!

I just realized that I past 1,900 posts! Goal is to be at 2,000 by the end of the month!

Good evening, Christmas family

Tail is dragging a bit tonight. Today at about 1 p.m. I started developing a monster migraine. I tried being where it is dark and being quiet thinking it would subside. By 2:20 it was not any better so I decided to call work and tell them I didn't think I could work my shift like that. Now, I have to say I NEVER call off. In fact this is the first time I called them with an illness. Instead of telling me anything, the person I had spoken to asked if I could hold, which of course I said yes. They turned me over to the owner. He was very nice but explained that they are really far behind and are asking everyone to try to work their shifts. I know they are behind because I just had to put in 8 hours mandatory this past Friday.

Now, I understand the obligation they have and If I had a habit of calling off I would have expected this. But I dont call off. Of course, even though I was miserable, I told him I would take extra medication and get through my shift. (After all this was the OWNER). The whole thing has just upset me to no end. People aren't allowed to get sick ?? I came away feeling like I did something wrong and I feel as though I look like an idiot. Why did I need to be turned over to the CEO ?

I wish all a very Christmassy evenig. Maybe I won't be so sad tomorrow.......(((HUGS)))) xo

Does anyone here understand why I am upset ??

Sorry you had such a terrible migraine, and also that you had to deal with work when you should have been able to rest! That is so inconsiderate of the owner, if you ask me. Like you said, you never call in. Some people may have taken advantage in the past, but you never did. Maybe he's never experienced a migraine, but they are awful. Sometimes all you can do is rest in a dark room. I truly hope you're feeling better today, CM3. Sending lots of HUGS your way from Har & I~ xo

Good morning world!!!

Guess what?? It's SNOWING!!!!!!!!!!! Not on the hills, not 10 miles away but coming down on my house and garden!!!!

It won't lie - the ground is still too warm for that - but keeps up like this, there will be snow on the ground by the time our car gets back from the shop. Talking of which, did I share with you the wonderful news that we were rear-ended?? Apparently, we weren't supposed to stop at a roundabout to let the truck proceed - as it was his right of way - we were supposed to keep going and because we misguidedly thought we should avoid getting our ribs caved in by the truck, we were rammed in the rear by a work van who promptly blamed us.

Yeah..........we didn't bang into you!!!!!!!!!!! Have you ever noticed how helpful insurance companies are when you aren't to blame??!!!!!!!

That would've made me so mad!! Glad to hear that you guys are ok, though. Be safe and enjoy the white stuff :)

Happy happy pines day, you're all really great! Happy happy pines, where Carl decides your fate!!!!!!

So.... Received an email from bath & body works this am... And it was all about CHRISTMAS goodies!!!!!! I went cross-eyed I was so excited!!! (if you are cross-eyed, i am sorry... and I didn't mean to offend you!).. Ohhh it will be VERY hard for me to not order stuff.

OMG, Britt! You are hilarious, and your posts always bring a smile to my face! In fact, I was laughing so hard I started to cry. My co-workers must think I'm nuts...

On the note, my mother is having a benefit Halloween dance for two people here in my town. I am very excuted, however it is also accompanied by sadness...Both are under 30, and both have terminal cancer. Unfortunately, the young man did not make it, he passed away last week thus being said, the girl is still alive, and doing as well as she possibly can! It just hits home when you went to school with them, and to see people suffer... Blah I can't handle it

Sorry to hear about your friend who passed away, Britt. What a wonderful thing your Mother is doing! Hope the benefit is very successful. Sending prayers your way. xo

Hi you guys. I have a hard time keeping up with this thread so I'm sorry I don't get to talk about everyone's posts. This moves faster than the entire rest of the forum.

I'm a little down today...money troubles have me a bit glum. I'm just tired of living paycheck to paycheck but I'm building savings so I should be happy. It's just the rate of it that has me bummed. It's SO SLOW.

It's a really rainy day and I usually love them but I'm a bit bummed out.

I know that things can always be worse. Hearing about some of your stories, I feel very lucky. I am sorry for your troubles and I am reminded that I should keep my chin up. So thanks.

Sorry you're having a tough day, GingerMel. Thinking of you- hope the sun comes out & your day gets better :)

Snowflake we have gone to RRC a few times, I have camped at the Virgin MT camp site & Knob Hill I haven't done those trails, the ones we did are Black Velvet Peak, Bridge MT, & Fern Canyon. I have climbed Mt. Charleston, we did the Griffith PK South Loop Train and then the Charleston Peak North Loop Trail, we were there for 10 days, it was amazing, this was several years ago now, we were there back in 2005. I would love watching the sun ride, I never understood in the song Purple Mountain Majesty until I stayed in the desert. What an amazing vacation that was, we didn't have Snickers at that time we had Brandy then she LOVED it, Brandy was my husbands dog when we met but she and I bonded very nicely.

Sounds like you had a beautiful time, lauriebear!! Yes, the sun rises & sunsets are breathtaking here! I haven't done any of the hikes you've done, but we'll definitely have to look into them =) One of my favorites at Mt. Charleston is Mary Jane Falls. My husband & I have a picture of us that was taken there during the winter. We lost the trail, and were knee deep in snow. It was awesome!

Hope you're feeling better soon, sugar! Nausea & heartburn are
no fun =(
Do you get heartburn every once in awhile? I seem to get it every 4-6 months, and the only thing that has helped me is Nexium. It's wonderful! Seems to heal, and take away the symptoms pretty fast. Thinking of you all!

Count one more heart on his side. Sometimes the best medicine when you're fighting cancer is to know that others are adding their prayers and good thoughts to your fight, no matter how lousy and depleted you feel some days.

Good Afternoon MMC!

Spending the last couple of days getting ready to teach 10 kids the basics of cake decorating. Our church hosts a kids club on Wednesdays after school is out (school is beside the church)
While I have taught many times, all those lessons came with step by step instructions. This is the first time I had to plan the whole class. I think I have everything I need, guess I can do some flying by the seat of my pants if I have to!

The aprons are made, the icing mixed.....

I highly doubt that you could even get a new car with hand cranks for the windows and manual door locks any more. So you can keep all of your buttons.

Here's the link to watch online
http://www.qvc.com/onair/liveshow.aspx?rewrite=no

You are too awesome for words, need say/write any!!!! Thanks for the link!!!!

And how awesome I get to keep ALL my buttons!!!!!

Good morning,

Off to work in a little more than an hour, I really don't want to go. We had our roof inspected for hail damage this morning, I finally called a company to do it after reading no matter how old your roof is (ours is 3 years old) you should get it checked out if you had hail. . Of course we had golf ball sized hail caused by the tornado back in June, but everything is fine with it.

Talk to you soon.

Good news about the roof Xmas... Sorry about the work....

I thought you guys were talking about this hand crank for a while:
