Good afternoon, everyone!
We have officially entered the Christmas Season. It's Christmas Time (Oh, Yeah)! The excitement of the year 2011 has built into the ultimate culminating experience, the Christmas Season. We have waiting all year to share this moment. Some times, have went slow, some fast, but we are here. Let the Christmas lights shine bright and Christmas music delight, the 2011 Christmas Season is upon us!
I was more than excited to ring in the Season last night. I played my first Christmas song of the Season - Jingle Bells by the Barenaked Ladies - I just love the the slow build up into the fun music that helps celebrate the Season.
The Season can now be seen everywhere. in fact, Kim was adamant about putting up the Christmas Tree yesterday evening as well as the lights! I was almost a little teary-eyed when setting up my musical lights. The music worked fine, but there was an issue with one of the lights... which led to the entire string not working! These lights have plenty sentimental value to me. They were my grandmother and grandfather's lights from when I was a child. I believe that they are from the late 70s or early 80s. They play about 10 wonderful songs and the lights blink along with the music! Of course, they have a non-musical feature, too.
My grandfather past away about six years ago. I still think about him ever day. My grandmother is in a retirement home. The only thing I wanted from their house was these lights. If they had stopped working, I would have lost a big part of my childhood. I want to hold on to these lights forever. Anyway, I happy to report that I somehow managed to fit the issue and the lights are just as magical as every Christmas Season I have experienced! I love it.
OK. Such a long post that I have delayed myself. Kim, Mike and I are supposed to head out to see if we can find some Christmas movies and more Christmas decorations. The apartment is quite bare. We need more to celebrate the Season.
Have a wonderful Sunday. But, most of all, a wonderful first day of the Christmas Season, everyone!!!!
