Christmas Countdown - 2011

good a.m. ya'll! about to get ready for work but wanted to stop in to tell ya'll i'm praying for all of you & hope today will be great for everyone!!

forgot to tell ya'll, my daughter decided not to do track @ school. she said the meets are usually on thurs. evenings & she has started going to "cowboy church" on thurs. w/ a friend of hers & she said she just doesn't want to miss it.
fyi-cowboy church is still church. it's held @ a rodeo here in town. most of the people are just that...cowboys. they ride horses, participate in the rodeos & stuff. they go in plain clothes to services. much more laid back. we are not cowboys though. i don't care as long as she enjoys it. the school she attends is in the country, she moved there 2 & 1/2 years ago due to bullying she was enduring @ her previous school. she has really flourished since socially & academically. anyhoo like i said it's out in the country & lots of the kids are cowboyish so she & her friends love cowboy church. Lord have mercy, @ 15 i'm thankful she still loves the Good Lord like she does & isn't out doing other stuff. didn't mean to ramble on about it just wanted to explain what it actually is.

And a merry day to all! I was just telling someone that I may not be here all the time...but I always come back! Oh...I still have the Christmas Spirit in my heart ALWAYS - "life" just tends to happen as you all can relate too.

We are getting sooooooo close to Christmas!!! Oh yes...we put our Christmas tree up on Oct 30th! I just love sitting in the living room with all the lights off except for the glow of the Christmas Tree!

I'm curious about who else has their Christmas Tree up?

I've got lots of catching up to do on MMC!

It's cold here today, so the fire keeps me warm here I sit.
Tonight I will be writing Christmas cards to my MMC friends!

Anyhow I hope today goes as smoothly and fast as yesterday did,I heard from my mom last night and my dad got out of ICU and is in a regular room. I hope he gets into the Rehab floor before thanksigiving,but either way I just hope he makes as much of a recovery so that he can have some independence.

Good news on your dad! Sounds like he is recovering well and you mentioned he takes good care of himself so that is probably why is moving along quickly.

Morning! Hope this finds all doing well. Busy week here as basketball has started. Tonight we play away, plus we have parent/teacher conferences, so it'll be around ten before I get home again. Then more duty on Thursday and Friday. But once we get to the weekend....it's no more duty for me for a week! Can't wait!

@ChristmasHeart- My tree is up BUT,(and this is a big but) I can't find the decorations!! or the Angel topper. It's like it just disappeared. And I have always hated when ppl put up thier tree like halfway.but that is exactly what has happened to me. luckily it's pre-lit and it does not look too bad just as long as it's lit up. but Yeah My tree was put up last week and so has my yard lights.

Hey Dawg! Speaking of warm weather. I noticed every year, where I live, that the weather tends to alternate in November. One week will be warm and the next week chilly. It's like that every year. If that is the case it should be chilly next week!!!

I have had to run my air conditioner the last 2 nights! Blah!

Bless her heart, bullying is awful. Hope that is nonexistent for her at the new school. That's great she's involved in cowboy church! I've never heard of it.
It sounds perfect for my girlfriend who is a cowgirl, married a cowboy, and has land with a bunch of horses on it. I think I just stereotyped her, but in a good way! She's the sweetest girl, and an animal lover to boot!
Anyways, glad to hear your daughter is flourishing, you must be very proud, merry!

That's my favorite part too, ChristmasHeart! I have most of my Christmas decorations out, except for my tree & village. That comes right after Thanksgiving, sometimes even that evening since I can't wait!!

I know! But this is going to be only my 3rd winter in the deep south...the first 2 winters were pretty cold. Last year I recorded the high temps in the Fall/winter and the last time we were in the 80's was october 17th.vs this year we have been in the 80's like 10 days this month alone. sure we cool down a day or two but we warm right back up again...it's so frustrating,but what can you do.lol I keep looking at the 15 day forecast and it's the same thing! this truly is turning out to be the winter that never was!

Cool, I just am so glad I found this site and joined in, I can say I miss it when I don' t get a chance to post. I know it is odd but I actually read each post and it is almost like we are really talking, I have an image in m head of how each of you may sound and be like - I feel like we are friends, you all know a lot more about me then most. Speaking of the weather...we just had a fog roll in which is odd. If we have fog it usually overnight and it burns off by 8 or 9,but this one just rolled in and we have a traffic stop on the runway! which is kinda good for me,I can catch up on other things. I am dissapointed I missed saturday night here,and I missed the Chat too,when is everyone going to get together here again,I keep reading December 23rd! what is that about? This is my first year in the countdown thread,hard to believe I racked up 2k posts in the game thread my first few months here!

Here we are!!
Mid Nov on the nose!!
Can we call this the 'official' start of the Xmas season if there is such a thing??
Everybody seems to have different opinions on that with anywhere from mid Nov to a month before Xmas seems to be the start of the Xmas season.

Hey, the egg nog is out.

The stores and restaurants are already decorated, at least a good portion with more going up every day. More and more outdoor lights are starting to appear.
Xmas music has even hit the cable radio stations in Canada (Galaxie has 3 stations out now).

I have to say this is pretty much the start of the Xmas season.

The only thing missing is Xmas music on the radio waves on a permanent basis but that starts this weekend in my area.

Plus I have a 4 day work week this week and only 3 working days next week to enjoy the US Turkey day parade and football, while starting to put up the outdoor lights.

Shopping is progressing too and will do more of that next friday.
