Did anyone else catch NBC's broadcast of "Miracle on 34th Street"? I caught a few minute of it and was so disgusted I had to post about it. It was a lousy digital transfer---movements were jerky, and the audio was noticeably out of sync with the video. I guess they figured nobody will care because "all old movies look lousy." There are good master materials on this film, and it deserves better treatment when it's being broadcast on a major network. Shame on NBC for such a shoddy show. (Or substitute a less refined word that also begins with "sh" and ends in "y.") Burns me up to see a fine vintage movie treated shabbily---I guess you can tell.
Hubby and I went down to the Elks Lodge for a community Thanksgiving feast. It was totally excellent: turkey, dressing, green beans, mashed potatoes, excellent gravy, fruit salad, rolls, cranberry sauce, apple pie and pumpkin pie. People could also take home a meal at no cost. It was donation only. Hubby and I donated for three people. They also had two drawings sponsored by the local grocery store. I WON!!! My prize was a dish washing tub filled with food stuff--a whole bunch of stuff! I was so excited because they did the drawing when we were there! I hope you all had a pleasant day!
