congratsWe put up our tree yesterday, so the holidays are officially on at this household!
you are right, i'd be irritated as well!Burns me up to see a fine vintage movie treated shabbily---I guess you can tell.
you guys are good people for chipping in for those people!Hubby and I went down to the Elks Lodge for a community Thanksgiving feast. It was totally excellent: turkey, dressing, green beans, mashed potatoes, excellent gravy, fruit salad, rolls, cranberry sauce, apple pie and pumpkin pie. People could also take home a meal at no cost. It was donation only. Hubby and I donated for three people. They also had two drawings sponsored by the local grocery store. I WON!!! My prize was a dish washing tub filled with food stuff--a whole bunch of stuff! I was so excited because they did the drawing when we were there! I hope you all had a pleasant day!
great to hear you had such a great time, hope your parents were able to enjoy themselves a little bit as well...it's been a wonderful day here. home for about an hour. been w/ my family all day @ my rents. my niece & her family were the only ones missing. they went to disney world. i could tell my daddy was in pain some but he pushed through God bless him. my mama was upset because she couldn't get up to help us, but me, my sis, my daughter, & my great niece had it all under control.
ya'll we laughed, joked, talked, walked....it was wonderful. i just love days like this! my daughter & gr.niece taught us old fogeys a new card game & it was really fun.
your day tomorrow sounds amazing!!I'll be wrapping gifts and putting them in packages and writing cards, and maybe putting out our outdoor decorations if the weather is nice. Is Sunday the First Sunday in Advent, since it's a short season this year? If so I've got to dig out my wreath, too.
Your thanksgiving sounds amazing!Wow! That's about all I can say after a whirlwind day like that! Got to see my brother and his wife, eat way too much, see the Cowboys win a game in the last seconds, and eat again tonight.....
When we got home from the inlaws....we watched a couple of Christmas shows about how they get ready for the parade and then how they get Macy's (the store) decorated overnight! Good stuff!
Wow that sounds like chaos! Can't ever expect such a thing to happen here! I wonder if it's enjoyable though? Or is it mainly good bargains? I believe CAH does enjoy the shows and the christmas spirit.... did you see any of those?Well the fog has moved in and ended our shopping trip early. We hit Michael's, Toys r us, Walmart, Meijer, and Target. Walmart and Target were crazy. You could barely walk in Walmart. The fire marshall actually stopped letting people in it was so packed. The line at target was about a half mile long but it went really fast and they were really organized unlike walmart. I really think that the whole east side of Indianapolis was at one of those 2 stores tonight. Expect for the people camping outside of Best Buy. I actually only bought 1 thing but my mom, sister, and aunt bought several things.
Your thanksgiving sounds great! hope you had a great time!We have an hour until we leave, we are watching "Mouse on the Mayflower" a DVD I found years ago on Ebay it even has the original McDonaldland commercials from 1968 on it. The parade was great, watched it from beginning to end, except when I ran out to get the paper to read the super duper fantastic sale prices that Black Friday brings. Does anyone else get the chills when you see Santa at the parade? I do every year.
that sounds great Christmasstar, i'm so glad you help all those children!196 boxes ready to be delivered to the shipping center!
(this is in an 8 foot tall wheelchair van, just to give you an idea of how much space these occupied)
Took me and my son about 1 1/2 hours to load and then unload again when delivered.
So excited that our church was able to bless so many children this Christmas.
hahahah yes me too! You guys are great! Now I know what you mean with 'gobble' =PI have had a blast listening to all the gobblers! You guys are so much fun!
Can you believe it? this year is passing by so fast! Only one month left!!!There is only one month to go until Christmas;we are nearly there!
i'm so glad your mum got a dog, it will hopefully make her feel less alone, and i'm glad your mum will now take care for that poor, old, blind dog, since such dogs do not often get a new home...I just called my mom--she sounds pretty good, considering. My sister took her over to the pound and Mom picked out a poodle, so now Mom's got a new friend. The dog doesn't have an official name yet, apparently! She's blind but gets around well, and is an older dog. Whatever the dog's name turns out to be, I'm thankful for her, because she's done wonders for my mom's mood. She'll be going over to my niece's house later today for Thanksgiving dinner. She sounded really happy to hear that I'm coming out, so I'm glad I'm going for her sake.
