We put up our tree yesterday, so the holidays are officially on at this household!
congrats :D

Burns me up to see a fine vintage movie treated shabbily---I guess you can tell.
you are right, i'd be irritated as well!

Hubby and I went down to the Elks Lodge for a community Thanksgiving feast. It was totally excellent: turkey, dressing, green beans, mashed potatoes, excellent gravy, fruit salad, rolls, cranberry sauce, apple pie and pumpkin pie. People could also take home a meal at no cost. It was donation only. Hubby and I donated for three people. They also had two drawings sponsored by the local grocery store. I WON!!! My prize was a dish washing tub filled with food stuff--a whole bunch of stuff! I was so excited because they did the drawing when we were there! I hope you all had a pleasant day!
you guys are good people for chipping in for those people! :) so you deserve to win! congrats on your prize!

it's been a wonderful day here. home for about an hour. been w/ my family all day @ my rents. my niece & her family were the only ones missing. they went to disney world. i could tell my daddy was in pain some but he pushed through God bless him. my mama was upset because she couldn't get up to help us, but me, my sis, my daughter, & my great niece had it all under control.
ya'll we laughed, joked, talked, walked....it was wonderful. i just love days like this! my daughter & gr.niece taught us old fogeys a new card game & it was really fun.
great to hear you had such a great time, hope your parents were able to enjoy themselves a little bit as well...

I'll be wrapping gifts and putting them in packages and writing cards, and maybe putting out our outdoor decorations if the weather is nice. Is Sunday the First Sunday in Advent, since it's a short season this year? If so I've got to dig out my wreath, too.
your day tomorrow sounds amazing!!

Wow! That's about all I can say after a whirlwind day like that! Got to see my brother and his wife, eat way too much, see the Cowboys win a game in the last seconds, and eat again tonight.....

When we got home from the inlaws....we watched a couple of Christmas shows about how they get ready for the parade and then how they get Macy's (the store) decorated overnight! Good stuff!
Your thanksgiving sounds amazing!

Well the fog has moved in and ended our shopping trip early. We hit Michael's, Toys r us, Walmart, Meijer, and Target. Walmart and Target were crazy. You could barely walk in Walmart. The fire marshall actually stopped letting people in it was so packed. The line at target was about a half mile long but it went really fast and they were really organized unlike walmart. I really think that the whole east side of Indianapolis was at one of those 2 stores tonight. Expect for the people camping outside of Best Buy. I actually only bought 1 thing but my mom, sister, and aunt bought several things.
Wow that sounds like chaos! Can't ever expect such a thing to happen here! I wonder if it's enjoyable though? Or is it mainly good bargains? I believe CAH does enjoy the shows and the christmas spirit.... did you see any of those?

We have an hour until we leave, we are watching "Mouse on the Mayflower" a DVD I found years ago on Ebay it even has the original McDonaldland commercials from 1968 on it. The parade was great, watched it from beginning to end, except when I ran out to get the paper to read the super duper fantastic sale prices that Black Friday brings. Does anyone else get the chills when you see Santa at the parade? I do every year.
Your thanksgiving sounds great! hope you had a great time!

196 boxes ready to be delivered to the shipping center!
(this is in an 8 foot tall wheelchair van, just to give you an idea of how much space these occupied)
Took me and my son about 1 1/2 hours to load and then unload again when delivered.
So excited that our church was able to bless so many children this Christmas.
that sounds great Christmasstar, i'm so glad you help all those children!

I have had a blast listening to all the gobblers! You guys are so much fun!
hahahah yes me too! You guys are great! Now I know what you mean with 'gobble' =P

There is only one month to go until Christmas;we are nearly there!
Can you believe it? this year is passing by so fast! Only one month left!!!

I just called my mom--she sounds pretty good, considering. My sister took her over to the pound and Mom picked out a poodle, so now Mom's got a new friend. The dog doesn't have an official name yet, apparently! She's blind but gets around well, and is an older dog. Whatever the dog's name turns out to be, I'm thankful for her, because she's done wonders for my mom's mood. She'll be going over to my niece's house later today for Thanksgiving dinner. She sounded really happy to hear that I'm coming out, so I'm glad I'm going for her sake.
i'm so glad your mum got a dog, it will hopefully make her feel less alone, and i'm glad your mum will now take care for that poor, old, blind dog, since such dogs do not often get a new home...

Good morning all! I wish every one a merry day! I am keeping calm today, as my head hurts a little, i wish i was decorating our home though, or maybe writing christmas cards! I still have to wait, till after Saint Nicholas... hope you are all well and enjoying yourselves!

I hope you all had a great Tanksgiving!

It is friday, the weekend will come soon! I actually overcame the shock about us having to leave our flat next year. I know the almighty God has a great plan for us and well I just wait for it to unfold. It is much easier that way.

Tomorrow I will visit my first christmas market and its the first time I will visit that particular christmas market.

I will also go to my travel agency at will discuss the last details on my summer holiday. They already told me it will be a bit cheaper than last year, which of course is good news.

I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving I know I did!!! Now I am in full decoration mode but wanted to "pop" in and say HELLO!!! I will catch up probably tomorrow... Wishing everyone a very merry day! LB

******** CHRISTMAS SEASON DAY 13 *******

Good Morning, Post-Turkey Day Friends and Leftover Anticipators.

Was your Thanksgiving celebration a happy one?
Lots of good food and fellowship?

Ready for the next celebration?

Well it's.......
Days to Christmas Day: 30 (ONE MONTH from TODAY!)

Just a month to go to Christmas.
Astounding!

Quite chilly here to start the day with our thermometer standing at 38 degrees currently.
At least it is supposed to be calm and dry for this Blackest of Fridays.

Speaking of that, I am commandeered to accompany the family on this wild shopping adventure so I had best get moving. (That's why I'm posting earlier than usual today!)
Don't particularly like the crowds myself but do enjoy eating out with my family!

You have a Fabulous Friday, Folks (whether or not it's black, blue.....or red and green, for that matter).

Good morning reading the post you all seened to have a good thanksgiving am so glad. hope everyone did
Now its black friday so anyone going to get a bargain??
hey shellie, yes therre are definitely bargains out there but the stores will have deep discounts on big $ items but will only have a limited amount of them so some people get very pushy. the everyday less $ items will be discounted today & to me that's the best (safer) deal to be had. shellie our newscasters have been showing people camping out for 2 days @ some of these stores. it's crazy! I DO NOT PARTICIPATE!
Good morning all! I wish every one a merry day! I am keeping calm today, as my head hurts a little, i wish i was decorating our home though, or maybe writing christmas cards! I still have to wait, till after Saint Nicholas... hope you are all well and enjoying yourselves!
kerstig i hope your headache goes away quick-fast-& in a hurry! Merry Christmas!:celebrate:

I had the best Thanksgiving ever! (every year is the best ever :D)! I just didn't want the day to end but the good news is.... Christmas Eve and Christmas Day next!!!!

This Thanksgiving weekend is not over yet. Today we will go see Santa and Dorothy Hamill ice skate, watch the choir sing and lots of other Christmas entertainment going on. I CAN'T WAIT!!! I feel like a giddy little kid! Weeeeeeeee! :???:

I wish I could get the rest of my family to join in. My son will be home and my dad will be at my house hanging out on our computer. Maybe he will do his Black Friday shopping online. =)

I will be back later to catch up on the unread post. Gotta run!!!

Well I did have time to read over the post. Not as many as I thought there would be. Must have been a holiday yesterday.

Top it off with the fact that I saw another wonderful concert by Trans-Siberian Orchestra last night, and the Christmas Spirit is indeed in full force!
Lucky lucky you!!! They come here in town every year and will be here in December. I hope to see them sometime!!!
well, I have to go and deliver the operation Christmas child boxes and then off to work, so will not be back here again until around 2pm.
Enjoy your holiday everyone!
That is fantastic you do that!!!
The Macy's Parade is always the same, but always different. I get a little teary thinking back to what it was like to watch it on the color set at my grandparents' house, munching on a little box of cookies ...
That gave me a smile. I love hearing about memories of the holidays!
I just called my mom--she sounds pretty good, considering. My sister took her over to the pound and Mom picked out a poodle, so now Mom's got a new friend. So happy your mom got a furchild. Doggies make great companions. My little doggy is snuggled up to me now!
I'm so stuffed I can barely type. Now to watch some football.
Now that is what I called stuffed! You can move your fingers??? He he!
Does anyone else get the chills when you see Santa at the parade? I do every year.
YESSSSSS! I jump around like a little kid when I see Santa!!!
They also had two drawings sponsored by the local grocery store. I WON!!! My prize was a dish washing tub filled with food stuff--a whole bunch of stuff! I was so excited because they did the drawing when we were there! I hope you all had a pleasant day!
I am glad you finally won something besides a virtual prize! Congratulations!!! =)
good evening ya'll!

We always play games on Thanksgiving and love it! I am glad you had a wonderful time.
Wow! That's about all I can say after a whirlwind day like that! Got to see my brother and his wife, eat way too much, see the Cowboys win a game in the last seconds, and eat again tonight.....
That game was great! I had a few friends who were at that game.

Where do you plan to go?

I would love to visit where you live! Beautiful place!

Don't particularly like the crowds myself but do enjoy eating out with my family!
This is the only time of year I love crowds while shopping. Not the insane "stand in line for hours overnight" type crowd but the pleasant flow of lots of people enjoying the holiday type crowd.

Good morning, MMC!

I hope this finds everyone well - you and your families are in my prayers!

Yesterday was the first time I ever spent Thanksgiving alone - I was rather bummed early in the morning, but got over it as I decided to start some traditions that were all my own. The first thing I did was to put a musical on - I sang and danced along with all the musical numbers. That was so much fun!!! The rest of the day went by fast. I didn't work on any of my jobs - just relaxed and found so much to be thankful for it astonished me.

Back to work today - it will be a lot of fun, though!

Have a MERRY day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where do you plan to go?

I would love to visit where you live! Beautiful place!

I will fly to New York (first big journey and first flight ever) and will stay there for two days. After that I will be part of a bus tour from New York to San Fransciso. We will see Washington DC, the niagara falls, Chicago, the yellowstone, grand canyon, bryce canyon, Las Vegas and Los Angeles and some cities in between. I don't have a driver permission therefore traveling by bus is the only way I got to see something from this country.

A good friend of mine did this tour two years ago and she was absolutely thrilled. She always says she would do the same tour again in a heartbeat. I know it will be a bit rushed but I don't mind. If I like a city or a place on the tour I can visit it again later in life.

I know I live in a country that is very beautiful. But I got a bit used to it :-) I think that is normal.

Good Morning MMC!!!!!! The fog has lifted here in central Indy and that can only mean one thing. It's time to go shopping!!!!!!! Well maybe not right now. I think I'll have breakfast first. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Days to Christmas Day: 30 (ONE MONTH from TODAY!)

Only one month? Can it be?! What a wonderous update. Thank you, Crown!

Hard to believe that today marks the one month until Christmas milestone! In a month's time, many of us will have shared the Christmas culmination of gathering around our beautifully decorating trees and smiling with our families. No matter the age, I am sure that is one of the most memorable and joyous occassions of our lives. In fact, I believe that is why we gather here in anticipation 365 days a year.

Until then, we can hope that the Season slowly continues to ensure that we can all saver the enjoyment of this magical time of the year. With that said, the weather in Ottawa is anything but seasonable. A high of 9c today with overcast. Tomorrow, we are expected to reach 8, and then 11 on Sunday! Outrageous! Thankfully, we are in for a steady decline the next mid-week.

I hope you all had a wonderful and family-filled Thanksgiving. It must be the perfect start to the Holidays. And, of course, enjoy your Black Friday celebrations. I have only experienced Black Friday (in the U.S.) once! The Fox River Mall in Appleton, Wisconsin was absolutely packed. My dad and I could barely walk. We weren't in town for the shopping, though, we were there to see the Packers play a rookie (or second-year) quarterback named Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts. Speaking of which, I was very thankful for another Packers victory yesterday. 11-0 is a great start. But, it is only the regular season.

Christmas Time is here! Enjoy in the laughter and fun, everyone! To everyone celebrating their extra long weekend - enjoy it! To everyone else at work (like myself) it's Friday! We have nearly completed another work week and are onward towards Christmas! In fact, there are only four more work weeks left! Three for me, as I am off on the 19th of December to fly home and spend as much time as possible with my family.

Safe and happy Black Friday shopping to those in the stores today. Have a great Friday, everyone!!!

the movie "Cancel Christmas" (2010)is on this morning. I have never seen this one before. It is really good, so if you get a chance you should watch it. (on show case)

I have a friend that lives in Zurich. He loves it. I am always disappointed that I did not have the opportunity to visit Switzerland while I was in Europe. Maybe another time.

You should have a fantastic time on the bus tour. It is a lot of driving, but those sights will be something to see! I am very excited for you!

Is that with Tom Arnold? If so, I have seen that before. It is enjoyable!

Oh, I love my country as well. Eventhough I think Lucerne is much nicer than Zurich :-) Unfortunately its a pretty expensive country, I am always sorry for the tourists they have to pay so much for everything.

Yes, I am sure I will have a great time overthere! I am already counting the days as you can see in my signatures. Although the days in the ticker are wrong I had to change the dates to a week earlier.

Why in the world didn't you come to our place? We could have had a great time!!!

Good morning, MMC!

Good morning and happy You're Welcome Day (as a columnist named Herb Cain used to call it). I hope everyone that celebrated had a good Thanksgiving. Mine was...hard. Really, really hard. And probably the less said about it the better. As much as I love Christmas, I told my husband that if Christmas is going to be like Thanksgiving, I'd rather skip it this year. But I've thought better of that plan. Today I'm off to work, but I _might_ peek into some stores on my break. And I've got my Ipod loaded with the silliest Christmas music in my collection to cheer me up. So everyone have a good Friday!
