I understand! My husband and I were just talking about this last night. Our Saturdays together are very important to us since it is the only full day we have together that both of us are off work. If I get called in to work he is not too happy and wants to be with me but he understands. He is not mad at me but disappointed that we don't have the whole day together. There has been rare occasions he had to go in on Saturdays and I want him home. I have even talked him into playing golf with the guys at church but it is always on a Saturday. He went but he just doesn't like to go on that day. It's "our day"! :wink: I can understand it being a big deal to you.

We started dating our junior year and have been insperable (sp?) since. We do things apart too, but also love the time we can spend together. He was glad to hear that once I get the kids to bed, I will have you guys to talk to and keep me company, along with the Hallmark Channel.

Good afternoon everyone. Well, what a blast we had this weekend the Village of Port Jefferson did their Dickens Village, actors from the local theater perform and the Streets have story readings and food and fun for the family, there are choirs and music and dancing. It was Wonderful, we went Friday night and Saturday afternoon. On Sunday we went to another one in Stony Brook, we had so much fun.

Sounds like a lovely time. I am glad you guys had a lot of fun!

Hi everyone! Hope you're having a great evening so far. Just getting dinner cleaned. I made myself a meatball sandwich and fries and EA had a PBJ and fries. She is really getting picky these days. I guess it is the age. The doctor tells me at least she is eating and gaining heathy weight. Thank goodness for that.

Anyway, watching the Hallmark Channel now. Santa Claus is on. I will probably try to get the kids bathed early that way EA and I can watch Charlie Brown at 8.

I stopped on my way to pick up the kids at daycare and got the rest of the stocking gifts bought. I just have to buy a gift for each of DH 4 cousins (1 each), they are all kids and then a $50 gift, well we both do for my side family Christmas once we pick names for my extended family and I am DONE. I am so proud of myself.

I just need to start baking this weekend so I am off...

Well, I need to go get the kitchen cleaned up and get these kids bathed and spend some time with them. Be back later to spend some time with you all! :wink:

I'm less blue today, but far from bubbly. Just taking it as it comes. It's a comfort to know that I'm not the only one who gets unexpected Christmastime tears.

Yesterday with my sister was FANTASTIC !! It was the perfect day.

Dairy Queen closes for the winter there every year? I use to work for one when I was a teenager but we never closed for the season, open year round and still that way.

This particular DQ is in a building that's more like an ice-cream stand---the seating is all outdoor picnic tables, so they close down for a couple months. They also don't have the full menu of sandwiches, just steamed hot dogs. (They do a $3.99 special of two hot dogs, potato chips, and soda.) They'll be open again sometime in March (and we'll be there!).

He is my best friend, truly. I know a lot of married couples say that, but he is. ... We do things apart too, but also love the time we can spend together.

That sounds so much like me and my Mr. ... it's such a blessing to have found the Right One, no doubts, no regrets.

Good evening everyone! Well I got my trees up and decorated and I also wrapped all my gifts. Been a busy 4 days off. I go back to work tomorrow and hope on my next days off to do some baking. I still need to sit down and look over my MMC cookbook. Hope everyone is doing well. I decided to put the little white Angel (left on picture) on the top of my vintage tree. It looks really nice with all the different vintage ornaments on it. Have a good week!

EA and I are watching "Charlie Brown Christmas" and enjoying a bowl of popcorn. Lol...but she's already asking me when we can watch Dora. Geez...I was hoping maybe she would watch something different tonight. I guess I will be popping the Dora DVD in as soon as this is over...

You will not believe this!!! As soon as I posted about mine and Wayne's Saturdays together he called me on his lunch to tell me he has to come into work this Saturday for inventory. I told him about what I just posted after he said that. Ha ha! I knew it had been awhile since he went in and it is about that time of year for it. It's only for a little while in the morning so we will have our afternoon together.

Good evening all! I have benn enjoying my bro visiting me from California,but he leaves in the morning so I will be back here full time! We have been having HOT weather for December, today was a high of 79F,and it was humid. Boy they were not kidding when they said it would be warmer in the south this year! I have 2 more days of work until Christmas vacation!!! I go back to work on monday Jan 2nd! I am looking forward to time off and enjoying the last few days with Brandi before the baby comes!(due date jan 3rd) Have a good night everyone!

Good evening, Christmas family !

Yesterday with my sister was FANTASTIC !! It was the perfect day. We went shopping and of course, some pretty madcap stuff happened with that then we went back to her house and she, my brother-in-law, Wes and myself all went to dinner at a wonderful Mexican place. The food was so good. Wes is 100% back to himself again - Thank God. It was so good to hear him laugh. He told some stories about his surgery and the outcome that, though they were actually serious, were so comical the way he told them. My sister and I were both in "stiches" ourselves just listening to him !

After dinner, back to my sister's house for decorating the tree !! We both had a wonderful time choosing the ornaments and seeing them after they had been put away for a year ! I can never remember what she has from one year to the next so it was double amazing !

After the decorating we settled down on the hide-a-bed where I would sleep and watched Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince togehter. We talked and talked and laughed. It was so wonderful beyond words. Plus she had never heard Susan Boyle so on my recommendation she bought Susan's Christmas album.....She was very impressed.

I hope all are well here. I am so tired tonight I tried to read all the posts but I didn't make it. I sincerely hope and pray all are well.

Aww... Sorry to hear. We went to NYC in October but would love to be there during the Christmas holidays! Have you ever been there before?

No never have been there, I live less than 200 miles away from NYC, so it would be an easy daytrip.

I will have my Christmas shopping finished hopefully by Thursday night. Was hoping to finish it all today, but with an emergency stop at the dentist for a toothache that didnt happen.

Have to go back next week for two fillings and the nerve endings to be pulled from where a crown came loose and I swallowed it .

Please pray for my grandma and uncle as we are having a tough year. My uncle is mourning the loss of his father (passed in September) by heavily drinking, which ironically is the cause of him being unable to mourn in September with the rest of the family (he was drinking alot and fell down the stairs and was in ICU until right before Thanksgiving).

Grandma cannot see very well (85 y/o) and both her sons use that to their advantage to sneak booze into the house.
