Whew ... we were without Internet access since about 5:30 last night, even though our e-mail was fine. Finally traced the problem to our Cisco Valet Plus wireless router. I think it just needed re-starting, 'cause after I unplugged it and then reconnected it everything seems to be running okay. So I'm suffering from forum withdrawal and trying to catch up with the Countdown.

Mr. has had an awful cold for a few days, so it's been a lousy holiday weekend for him. He's hurt something in his chest from coughing so hard, so it's off to the doctor for him tomorrow. I lost sleep last night worrying about the loss of Internet access (Earthlink "customer service" is usually a nightmare to deal with because of the language barrier) and because Mr. was uncomfortable and restless. Hope we can relax some this evening before I have to head back to work tomorrow.

I had a major breakdown with Hubby tonight. I had to call my union rep to request sick bank leave for my cancer treatments. For some reason, everything came flooding in on me. Sorry to vent!!!

With what you're going through, you're entitled to some venting! And it will be helpful to get some of it out of your system.

I hope you have a better experience with your workplace than I had with mine when I was dealing with treatment. I was out five days while they did tests to "stage" the cancer (determine how extensive it was so they could decide how to treat it), and my supervisor's supervisor helpfully reminded me that my five unscheduled days out of the office was cause for termination. (They didn't, though.) I was stunned---this was literally a matter of life and death! And they made me use vacation time for treatment days. The second time around I just cut the melarkey and took short-term disability. Bad memories. Now I will apologize for venting!

That epic battle between sleepy Crown and caffeine-wired Binger is ongoing!
As between sleep and coffee, there is no contest.
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!

I just organized another kitchen cabinet. This one had all the seasonings and baking goods in it. What a mess! All the other cabinets were easy but this one took a little time. I am glad I got that over with. Now onto another project!
so I am not the only one with the urge to clean and organize!

Here's a quick story about something that happened this morning. But first let me preface the story with a confession; I don't like cats. I never have. And my neighbors insist on owning cats that are free to roam the neighborhood. The problem is that they perfer to use my yard as their litter box, more recently they area around our pool. It really chaps my behind (pardon me!)

Anyway, as I was walking to my truck this morning on my way to work, I saw one of them on my pool deck, leaning over & drinking water from the pool. He was facing away from me and I snuck up behind him...AND YELLED LOUDLY!

He squalled and jumped straight out into the pool. This tickled me, because the outside temp was 33° this morning, and I got a good laugh about this cat getting dunked in nearly-freezing water. But then I decided I didn't want him to drown in my pool, so I went on the deck planning to pull him out. When he saw me coming, he hooked a paw over the side and pulled himself out...then took off like a bullet for home! Yeehaw!

Hopefully he learned a lesson about living (and pooping) in my yard!!!

It seems to be the "New Year" thing to do! =)
is finding that my new iPhone 4s I got for my birthday does not mix well with my dog's water bowl:-o
It might be too late but I hear if you remove the battery asap and put the phone and battery buried in some dry rice it will absorb all the water overnight and should start working again.

But of course if your insured you should be able to get it repaired.

I hope you get it working soon!

After cleaning out the cabinets in the kitchen I said I was onto another project. Guess what it was????? I laid down for an hour and watched TV. Not very productive but dang, I'm tired! I think the week finally caught up to me! I have been running non-stop all week and had a busy day at work yesterday. I also have a busy week ahead starting tomorrow.

Okay, I am going to attempt another project now that I feel rested. cheesy

CM3, you did not fail Seawaters at all. We don't always get the exact thing we pray for, but that doesn't mean our prayers weren't answered in some way. I know it is hard to have faith at times (trust me, I have had major doubts the past year!), but prayer does work. It provides peace and hope to those you are praying for and their loved ones, too, and it gives you something to believe in when there is nothing in your life that seems to be working. I am glad you are still praying!!! (((hugs)))

Meceka - perfectly put... I couldn't have made it through if I hadn't had pray in my life and sometimes it just provides me peace knowing no matter what someone always has my back.

There is no such thing as failing someone by praying. I hate it when people say "well the least we can do is pray for you". No the most you can do is pray for someone. When you are praying you are tapping into the power of God. Unfortunately we live in an imperfect world, and things don't always go as we want. God has a plan for all of us, and we don't always know what that is.

Thank you SIT!!! My Pastor always tell us this... He will often times refer to an old Garth Brooks song about Unanswered Prayers. But, he is right as you are, just because you don't always get what we want doesn't mean we aren't right were we are suppose to be, we do not have the answers that is why we are here.

I agree with cah. Try putting it in a bag with dry rice. I hope it's not ruined.
