I am off to try to take a nap! I am hoping I can get one in! Again, keep your fingers crossed for me! It worked last time. :)

It is so nice to get letters in the mail - I need to get back to my letter writing, too!
What is Spatini sauce?

Spatini is a spaghetti sauce mix. You mix it with tomato paste, oil and water and simmer it to make spaghetti sauce. You can only get it from certain places in industrial-size envelopes now, so you have to measure it out. It used to come in little packets, but they discontinued the consumer packaging some years ago. I'm sure homemade is better, but this is more our speed, not being great cooks!

Good afternoon,

Not much going on here today, I am watching a full day of hockey, watching Penguins vs Capitals now, and then Bruins vs Flyers in a few minutes, football is dead to me this year, I could care less about the teams left, I just hope the Patriots lose so I don't have to listen to "how great they are" on the radio, a lot of fans seem like they have the Super Bowl all wrapped up. It is so annoying. Enough of my ranting. The kids are enjoying themselves playing in the snow right now, it is suppose to be warm and rainy tomorrow, so it will be back to a brown mess this week. The puck is about to drop fro the Bruins game, talk to you all later.

Good morning! Talk about taking a while to catch up.....I've been at it for two hours. But that's what happens when you don't really read since Tuesday. I'm afraid this week is going to be as busy as last. We will soon find out.

As for today, I'm going to go to the office, grab some work, and sit in my chair and watch football all dang day! Do some work, read the boards, check Facebook, then read the boards some more....sounds like my kinda day.

Hope you all have a great Sunday!

Don't work to hard friend!!!!!

Thank you for the info, Merry! I usually use a jarred sauce as making homemade sauce takes a long time and I still haven't gotten the spices right.

It pains me to say this - but go Patriots! I don't like either team at all but with the Ravens beating the Steelers twice, they need to lose. Plus the Ravens have an awful attitude.

I'm rooting for the Giants to win it all.

Good afternoon, MMC!

nmc42088: good luck!

It is getting cloudy out and some the snow has started to melt a little. I checked the radar, but there isn't any precipitation showing up in my area yet.

So far today I have done some research for my next feature for Christmas Foods - that is always a fun thing to do! This piece I am planning was inspired by the music in an Alfred Hitchcock movie and a dream I had the other night. That ought to keep you wondering!

I also went through a box of books - all cat mysteries by the author Lillian Jackson Braun. I lucked out last year and came across a bunch of them at a church rummage sale in town. I couldn't remember which ones I had, so I bought them all - it was for a good cause and it was a great price. When I got them home, I found a few of them were signed by the author. I have to find all the other ones I have and then I will donate the doubles to the Mission store in town. The proceeds from their sales funds the food pantries in the area.

I just realized that this week is the Snow Fest in 'muth. I will have to get extra stuff ready for the store and figure out a sale. We usually do a bit better whenever there is a festival in the area and 'muth sure does have a lot of them. The Snow Fest is fun and the sculptures are amazing to see!

Stay safe and have a MERRY evening!!!!!

Well, DS let me get a 2 hour nap in. EA is still sleeping. I feel a little refreshed now. I should hopefully be good to go until I lay down for work later.

As for the games in my household, any of you who know me, know I hate the Ravens and I pretty much feel the way Xmas366 does. I don't want to hear it this year again about the Patriots. Probably a lot people feel that way about the Steelers sometimes too though! I guess it's all in who love!

Today is perfect for laying around and being lazy!! it's about 66F humid and rainy and sultry like late spring not mid winter. Today has been a lazy day for sure, just went to the airport this morning to take family back to catch thier plane. Other than that we went to church at 11 am then came home and ate left overs and are just relaxing because 5am starts another work week! I hope everyone here is doing good. have a great evening!

Soon as Mr. gets home from an errand, we'll be in for the evening. Time to relax and stay warm. Maybe a cup or two of Cinnamon Stick tea, or Holiday Chai ... trying to forget that the alarm clock rings again in the morning. I hope you all can have a warm, relaxing Sunday evening, and I hope that all you football fans enjoy the game.

If you ever want to try it, Vermont Country Store carries Spatini. It's a powder, so you can also use it to make sour cream dip, toss some into your meatloaf, etc. It may seem expensive, but the pouch that they send you makes about 18 pints of sauce. One batch of sauce only requires about two and a half tablespoons of the stuff. Mr. likes it better than sauce from a jar, so I'm glad there's someplace to buy it again.

good Morning everyone! Applying for a teaching job, so crossing my fingers it works out. Hope you all have a great day
go get'em nmc!! i'm root'in for ya'!
I love that movie and the book! They both are two of my favorites!
haven't read the book but omg...i love the movie!
Good morning!

I hope this finds everyone well! For those of you in the line of severe weather -stay safe!

I actually have a day off today and I don't know what to do with myself - lol. I guess I will go see what kind of mischief I can get up to today in the housecleaning and organizing department - I lead such an exciting life Should be fun now that it is a bit warmer out and I don't have to stay so close to the heater!
Later on I will work on my Christmas journal and will find the blue yarn that went missing that I need for the afghan I am working on for my cousin.

Have a most MERRY day!!!!!!!!!!
i hope you find the blue yarn. is that the one w/ the snowflakes in it? i think that sounds beautiful.

well i'm w/ you on most of your rant xmas, i am so sick of the patriots, & enough of Tom Brady (Mr. cry baby). it's always someone elses fault w/ him, as if he never makes mistakes!
Let's Go Ravens!!!!!!!!!!
woo hoo, i'm w/ you made GO RAVENS!!

I have a hard time with all the teams left, the Patriots are the local team so the fans are all annoying, they didn't exist until about 15-16 years ago, everyone was Giants fans back then. You could not find a Pats fan anywhere. The Ravens are in the same division as the Bengals, nuff said. The Giants are from New York, I cannot consciously cheer for a team from New York being a fan of the Boston Red Sox. The 49ers broke my heart twice beating my Bengals in the Super Bowls XVI & XXIII. Never say 34 seconds in front of me, that's how close the Bengals came to winning XXIII.
