Christmas Countdown - 2012

My VCR just ate my copy of White Christmas.

Awww man, That's a bummer....

What's a VCR? lol...

Sorry, couldn't help it. My kids have never heard of an 8-track, and have only seen records and cassettes. We have a VCR, but haven't used it since they were little. Everything these days is blue-ray or streaming.

I miss the old days when you didn't need a computer degree to program the VCR like you do the DVR.

We started having the same problen last year, the VCR portion of my DVD/VCR combo started eating the tapes and then would'nt eject them afterwards. So, I have been on this mission to start replacing all my VHS tapes with DVD's, but it's hard to find everything.

I have alot of these VHS tapes that are either clips of shows, or episodes from Christmas specials from the likes of Red Skelton, Carol Burnett, Bob Hope, Abbott and Costello, John Wayne, not to mention Andy williams, Bing Crosby, I Love Lucy show, the Andy Griffth show, A Waltons Homecoming, etc... and many more! I just have not been able find them yet on DVD, but I'm always looking and searching where ever place/ storeI may be at the time. I was a little lucky this year, I was able to find 15 replacements this year.

One thing I haven't done, is to start replacing all the Disney VHS tapes (the ones in the hard vinal covers/ boxes) that we have from when the kids were little. We have so many of them, that they take up a whole wall inside one of my closets. I've been debating on just getting rid of them/ donating them somewhere!

However, I do have a secret; I still love to watch them. Like last night on TV, "Finding nemo" was on, and I was glued to the TV set all night.... Ah, I'm still a big kid at heart....

I really liked The Christmas Heart.....I loved The Christmas Card too !!! One of my favorites of course which I mentioned before is A Princess For Christmas and November Christmas is one of my all time favorites !!!

Christmas Heart must have been what my hubby was watching last night! I went for a walk with a friend - looking at Christmas lights (got 7 miles in too!) & when I got home I was surprised to find my hubby still awake. He wasn't feeling very good yesterday. But he told me he was interested in a good movie on Hallmark. By the time I sat down, it was Christmas Card! (another good Hallmark movie) I will have to be sure to catch Christmas Heart!!

Good Morning MMC!!!!! The warm up continues here in central Indy with a high of 47 predicted for today. It's going to be busy day here. I have several errands to run and then I have to take my neighbor to the airport at 3. I also need to remember to call in my greeting for the podcast now that I can go longer than a minute before I start coughing. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been gone for a while. Both of my parents have been in the hospital. Dad with pneumonia. Mom with complications from cancer including pneumonia and a UTI. Dad is doing better and may get out today. Mom is a little better but will be there a while longer. They are both in Gastonia, NC so I walked through Christmas town USA, (McAdenville) several nights after leaving the hospital. http://www.mcadenville-christmastown.com/ It was a needed break.

I will drop back in when I can. Hope everyone has a great Christmas season as we celebrate the day God became a man to model a perfect life for us, provide for us to be reconciled to God by dying for our sins, and then rising again. It is neat to celebrate his birth while anticipating his return.

Actually - they are gifts that we have rec'd & already opened this year! Lol! An Ohio State tree topper for the tree in the basement. A Christmas T-shirt, & a Santa wine topper, homemade OSU pot holder, & coffee!! :smile:

Happy Friday Eve!!! I hope you are all having a great day! My afternoon is starting to get long. I worked through my lunch today so I could leave early for my niece/Goddaughters college graduation. I'll be leaving in less than 30 min, so it's not so bad!! ;-) We are going out to eat after at Granite City. I'm not sure why a college would ever have graduations during the Holiday season. Can't they wait til January??? Don't they know we have Christmas specials to watch on tv & Christmassing to do in December???? Ha ha ha!!!

I have to be at work at 11 and the demo is here in town so that is also nice. LittleCS is meeting me for lunch since she also works at the mall.

Now my list of things to do is down to one tree to finish and cookies to bake.


The ladies had a great time yesterday with the gingerbread houses.

Good morning, everyone!

Very drowsy morning. Mr. had to work at the office until 2:45 a.m. and didn't get home until after 4 a.m. (He had gotten up at 5:30 yesterday morning, so he was up over 22 hours---sometimes his workplace is NUTS.) I turned off the alarm clock and crept out this morning so he could get some rest. Don't know when he's due back at the office, and I don't care---they OWE him some sleep after that.

Hope Mr. was able to get some good sleep in. That's just crazy =[

Once I get through today at the office, I have Friday and Monday to do Christmas things---got a big lump of homemade chocolate chip cookie dough thawing in the fridge for baking, and I bought sugar cookie ingredients in case I want to tackle them. Need to wrap Mr.'s gifts, too.

It's going to be a challenge to keep awake today. Should have brought more PG Tips with me!

Thinking of you. Hope you've been able to stay energized today!! Maybe some chocolates would help?!

Yep, it was the Christmas card. I loved the Christmas Heart. It's the best one they have released this year in my opinion.

Good Christmassy day everyone! Hopefully everybody is enjoying the final-time-before-Christmas period because I'm actually am from today. I had my last examination earlier this morning and my first semester at the university is now oficially finished! I expect to receive my final results of the semester at the very beginning of January but as I have already got majority of my other assignments marked, I don't expect my results to be very bad. Actually, they should be pretty good overall. ^^ Anyway, I have to finish stitching a Christmas present for my godparents in umpcoming few days, I still have to do a little Christmas shopping tomorrow and pack my suitcase on Saturday because I'm going home on Sunday!!! I wasn't that excited abou it a while ago but now, when there are only few days to go, I'm super excited!

Mr. just e-mailed that they're having him stay to do ANOTHER late job tonight---no estimate yet on how late it's going to go---after he was at the office from 9 a.m. yesterday until 2:45 a.m. this morning! He got to bed about 4:30 a.m. and was up five hours later and on his way back to the office. I'm practically foaming at the mouth over it---I'm ready to kick a hole in the wall or punch out a window or something. It's OUTRAGEOUS. I'm so frustrated I don't know what to do.

I so agree !!! And I remember 8 Track tapes....i.e., a self destruct system just waiting to happen !!! Lost many good tapes that way.....

I still have a Beta machine which does not work any longer but outdates even VHS and of course we have two VHS players as well !!

Technology is wonderful but it's leaving me in the dust as I struggle to keep up !!! xo

Got home just over an hour ago, very slow moving night at work. Got a lot accomplished though. My wife went to the Dr. she has a sinus infection and bronchitis, she is out of work for the rest of the week. Watching the end of Christmas Vacation, I love this movie.

Been absent from here for a couple of weeks, its been pretty hectic
Went to London Monday and Tuesday to finish off my Christmas shopping and visit Winter Wonderland, it was brilliant very cold but that just made it even more Christmassy
