Today is the first of four half-days at school. I don't know why they do this, but it sure is a pain. Luckily, my kids are old enough to stay by themselves in the afternoon, but the parents of smaller children have to try to workout a plan for this. It seems to me that we'd go all day today and all day Monday, then be out of school. Roll with the punches, Brad.

I've always wondered that too.

Someone tell me how it ends please....I am at the point where he tells the toy store owner he needs a time out because he will not be Santa in the pagent!

Okay, I'll give it a shot.

The family gets their car fixed and leaves. The pagent goes on and it's terrible. The family stops at a gas station and something just doesn't feel right. They miss everyone at the town. So they go back. Everyone is starting to leave the pagent but then the girl goes on with the rock band and they are great. So everyone stays. one of the ladies that is supposed to dance has a knee problem. So the mom is convinced to step in and dance with them. Then the mayor is finally convinced to come up on stage and he starts singing "We wish you a Merry Christmas" and all of the performers come out and join him. Then the father reveals that he is a banker and he is going to loan the town the money to build the ski lift. The mayor doesn't believe him and questions wether or not he can make that kind of loan without the approval of the bank president. The father says that it's true that the loan would need to the approval of the bank president but since he is the president, he thinks it will be approved. Then the young boy comes in with the toy shop owner dressed as Santa. While everyone else was at the pagent the boy had finally convinced him. To show his apprecation to the boy, the toy shop owner gives him the train engine. The end.

Great news !!! I am beginning to have TOES again !!! The swelling and pain are going from my toes, not all the way gone yet but going and the swelling and pain in my right thumb is 99% gone. Now if I can just keep tolerating the medication as it builds in my system.....

Hello everyone. I have really missed being on the forums and reading everyone's posts, but things have been very busy. How many of you are participating in the Christmas party on Sunday? Does anyone have any more details? I read that there would be a radio show with call ins...anyone know where I could find that?

Hope everyone is having a great Christmas season. I'm happy it's so close, but a little sad it will be over soon. Oh well, let's enjoy it while we can. Happy Friday!

Good morning, Christmas people!!

It has been raining here in Vegas for about a day and a half! We hardly ever get rain. I wish it was snow!! Looking at the mountains, they got a ton of it. It's beautiful!

What plans do you guys have for the weekend?

I look forward to the day when I can tell you that we no longer have any packing to do, just that we have unpacking to do! Since that hasn't happened yet we will be packing today! Tonight, we are going out to dinner with some neighbor friends of ours. It's kind of our last dinner out with them before we leave, and to say thank you for all of their help with fixing our vehicles, advice on buying a new vehicle, etc. For the past six years we've helped each other put up Christmas lights and kind of had a little Christmas contest with them. Everyone on our block calls Travis "Clark Griswold!!" So, as a thank you, we are taking them to a favorite Italian restaurant of ours called Capo's- it's a speak easy. Should be fun!

LOL, Brent! On the subject of fruitcake, our former school librarian called me yesterday and wanted to come by for a visit and to bring me "something."
At first, I couldn't figure it out; and then I KNEW that it was fruitcake! She and I had discussed a no-bake fruitcake from our childhood memories several years ago, and I found the recipe for her. It is so good and uses marshmallows to bind it together. I can hardly wait to eat it!

I thought they were all meant to taste like that anyway!?

Just got my podcast greeting done and sent this morning. Also did about five dozen coconut chocolate chip cookies. There's a batch of sugar cookie dough chilling in the fridge ... will it roll out, or be another spectacular failure? Oh, the suspense ...

I should have some lunch. All I've had so far today is a nice mug of tea and "baker's privileges." (Well, I have to make sure the cookies are coming out okay!)

Funny and sweet!!!

We took my granddaughter to the mall today. She went to visit Santa and as we walked away Santa was asking one of the employees there about someone. She snapped back at him, in a jokingly manner, and said, "You're so nosey"! I had to laugh because of Santa being nosey??? Does he really need to ask anything about anybody because he already,

"Sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake"!

They were just cutting up with each other but I thought it was funny to tell Santa he is nosey!

I hate rushing through the post on here. I haven't had a chance to read everything. I will try to be back later!

I got your PM, but I am having MAJOR problems. It is taking about one to two minutes for each page to load--probably a virus! My NEW computer is in the shop for the same thing, so I have been using Hubby's. I hope he doesn't have one too! I will try to vote, but I am even having a hard time reading the posts. I am about to go to bed, but I thought I'd give an update on my ribs. I spoke to a nurse friend and she said she is pretty sure that I pulled a muscle and maybe even bruised my rib and that's why I have the bony lump. It isn't hurting (unless I move a certain way then it is sore) and it does not hurt to touch, so I am going to leave it alone and enjoy the rest of the Christmas season :] Sometimes I feel that if you go to the doctor, you're just borrowing trouble! Thanks for your thoughts and prayers!

Two days left of class and then it is time for finals! I am so ready to be off so I can really enjoy Christmas. It is such a shame my break starts so late, only three days before Christmas. It really cuts the fun short!

Right chilly and wet here yesterday.
I'm hoping for an improvement today.
It is a nippy 39 degrees here, currently.

Wow! What a 'Pines Day we had yesterday!
In fact everything was going just splendidly until Carl brought out the new fruitcake-coffee blend and Binger nearly knocked over the tree trying to be first in line for a sample.
(The funny part about that was that there was no line.)
