Good morning fabulous people of MMC!!!

My grandchildren are awesome. They are thinking like me and talk non-stop about Santa, Christmas and ask to hear Christmas music when they come over. They say, "Christmas is at grandmas all year long"! I have even had them want to write letters to Santa in the spring and summer too.

I hope you all have a beautiful Sunday!

Today, I get my offical swearing-in for my new office, then my first council meeting as mayor tomorrow night. Cross your fingers and send me a quick prayer!

Good luck! I know you will do great, Mr. Mayor!

Our tree is still up, but our outdoor decorations came down yesterday. There are only a few houses in Bellville that still have outside decorations up now. Thankfully, I've been to busy this year to dwell on Post Christmas Blues, so it hasn't been too bad for me...so far!

My tree is still up, along with my outdoor decorations because DH has to help do those two things and he has been working the past couple of days. Plus, I wanted to leave them up until the Epiphany was over and he agreed.

Our city isn't too big, but my section of the city doesn't have too many decorations left. Bummer.

Good Morning MMC!!!!!!! We are looking at another warm day here in central Indy but the forecasters keep reminding us that winter is just around the corner. I haven't been to church in nearly a month so I'm going to head there and then it will be back home to watch some football. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!

Christmas Holdover Report.

At this time of year, to ease the passing of Christmas blues, I like to look to see how many Christmas decorations are still up.
I'm pleased to report that a least a third of the houses in our neighborhood have their outdoor ornamentation still in place!
Even Crabtree Valley Shopping Center has not taken all of theirs down yet.
And the "A Christmas To Remember" store, who's photo launches our annual Blossoms thread, is still operating. I inquired as to when they would close and was told January 16.
Over a week left to see them and remember Christmas 2011!

(Makes me feel a little better!)

How about you? Many decorations still left in your areas?
(Gee. Sounds like a good idea for a new thread!)

On my street, there are 4 houses left with lights up. Each night, I just stick my head out and look at them. I know that this will probably be the last weekend, but maybe not.

Hey!! He is in a nursing home doing physical therapy...I can understand a little of what he says but he has a long road ahead..maybe 6 months before he can go home..but we are very hopeful he will have somewhat of a good life once he completes therapy...thanks for asking!

You're welcome! I am glad to hear he is coming along! I am still praying and thinking about him!

Sounds like EA! She flipped out on DH last night because he didn't turn the Christmas lights on. He decided to then, but I don't know what she will do when we take them down...haha. DH tried to explain to her that it's not Christmas 365 days a year and I said, "Not true!" haha cheesy

We nearly had a green Christmas here, but early on Christmas morning it snowed and has snowed off and on since then.

Where I live, some homes leave their lights up all year, but don't turn them on, I guess there are several seniors living in my neighbourhood who don't want to be bothered climbing ladders every year. On the other side of the creek, I still see the blowmold snowman, festive lights and around the neighbourhood several homes still turn the lights on at night. Gone are the use reindeer displays and wooden Santa and sleighs on the rooftops.

Sadly adorning the snowbank is the first nearly naked Christmas tree (I've seen) that once was a centerpiece for a family celebration - now just waiting for the tree guy to come and get it.

:tree: That's when the season feels over for me, when the real trees get turfed out.

I'm still here. Wayne went onto church without me because I have been so drained all week long and not feeling 100%. Got to save my energy for work today!

Here is something funny for you football fans, especially us Cowboy fans! Last week (before the Cowboys played their game) we had our deacon meeting right after church. Our pastor told us we have one more meeting next week. He said, "don't worry, I will make sure you are all home in time to see where the Cowboys should have played". We got a great laugh but he jinxed the Cowboys! Ha ha! (He is a Cowboys fan by the way).

Our pastor always makes us laugh. Laughter is the best medicine! Ugh! I am going to miss out on that today.

At least if I miss out on the laughter we have at church, I will get some good laughs at work. I just love the people I work for. It's a very cheerful environment!

Today is my 9th year anniversary at work! (Also Elvis's birthday, ha ha).

Work shared is cut in half. Love shared is double!!!

And a happy birthday, xmas365!

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend! I have been working a lot and i am feeling very good about that! also had a nice time, since my boyfriend had some time of and we got to work together, which is always better than working by yourself :P

I have huge inflated lymph nodes in my throat, which hurts and is inconvenient, but apparently not uncommon *never happened to me before*, i don't want to get ill, so i have been taking extra care of myself! (and of course my boyfriend is as well, which is nice :) )

I haven't been since I was a freshman in college. Someone told me, though, they tore it down. But I bet they have someone selling French fries. Maybe someone will write a song about that!!! (Cue Radio Jon D.)
Sorry I missed the first cue. I was too busy planning my next move.

Haha...the "Ding, fries are done!" You wouldn't believe the idiots that used to sit on the computers in my high school and play that over and over again. They thought it was so funny.

But yet again...I would laugh at it too!

Thanks for the laugh, RJD! :)
