Good afternoon, everyone!!

Heading to the mall with my mom to take advantage of the huge sale at Bath & Body Works. Then I have to come home and get ready for some Steelers football. SO excited!! Here we go, Steelers! :???:

Oh, no! I just read that the Penguins lost two more players to injuries for weeks and weeks. The poor Pittsburgh Penguins! :( Now we have Staal out and Neal because of a knee injury and a broken foot. Ugh!

We just finished brunch. Hubby cooked scrambled eggs with sausage and potatoes O'Brien, along with English muffins. He put out grated cheese, and I put it on everything. And, get this, he cleans up after himself!!! He mostly cooks breakfast during the weekends.

Who's cooking lunch? I'm hungry!

I have huge inflated lymph nodes in my throat, which hurts and is inconvenient, but apparently not uncommon *never happened to me before*, i don't want to get ill, so i have been taking extra care of myself! (and of course my boyfriend is as well, which is nice)

ouch! Hope you feel better quick.

Going to hang out today and do some work and cleaning. Not much, but enough to keep me busy. Plan on watching some football and probably cooking.

Oh I guess I am of to get some cleaning done! It has been a fun morning with you all! I will check back in at some point!
Have a great day!

I am cleaning too, between visits here. The house is looking good. Just finished in the spare room, which is also now my sewing room. I have thrown out a bunch of "why have we got this anyway" stuff, taken several boxes and bags to the thrift store and polished, dusted and straightened out what is left.

At this time of year, to ease the passing of Christmas blues, I like to look to see how many Christmas decorations are still up.
I'm pleased to report that a least a third of the houses in our neighborhood have their outdoor ornamentation still in place!
How about you? Many decorations still left in your areas?
(Gee. Sounds like a good idea for a new thread!)

They say, "Christmas is at grandmas all year long"! I have even had them want to write letters to Santa in the spring and summer too.

Where I live, some homes leave their lights up all year, but don't turn them on, I guess there are several seniors living in my neighbourhood who don't want to be bothered climbing ladders every year. On the other side of the creek, I still see the blowmold snowman, festive lights and around the neighbourhood several homes still turn the lights on at night. Gone are the use reindeer displays and wooden Santa and sleighs on the rooftops.

I am the last one on my half of the street with lights still on. Driving home from work last night I did see a lot of trees still up and on. This year I am planning to leave my window candles up until the first day of spring, my wife likes the idea, and I have seen a few houses that do that. I don't think I am going to take anything down today now. I am exhausted today, and to go up and down the ladder just doesn't sound to fun.

Nice to hear of some decorations still up.
Our church took down the tree, but the garlands were still up on the windows and the angels still flying!
I am however ready for it all to come down and spring to come! Of course, we have not really had winter yet, so I guess a week or 2 of that first would be ok!

We actually do the candles in the windows all-year long. We have a country looking candle that has a drip look and it's actually wired into a window seal, that way the kids can't mess with the cord or the dog. We did this when we built our house. I love it.

For some reason, yesterday seemed like Sunday to me. Today, Hubby and I are going to the Crab Feed at the Elks Lodge. This is a major money-maker for our scholarship fund. It's an all you can eat affair. I don't like crab at all, so I take my own fake crab (which I LOVE) and some lobster. I pay for the sides and drawn butter. There are also raffles and an auction. Hubby wants to bid on a $700 outdoor grill. I think it will be a fun day, overall!!!

Good luck! Hope you guys make lots of money! Sounds like a great cause! cheesy

Hey!! He is in a nursing home doing physical therapy...I can understand a little of what he says but he has a long road ahead..maybe 6 months before he can go home..but we are very hopeful he will have somewhat of a good life once he completes therapy...thanks for asking!

yes, stroke recovery can be a long hard road for some. Continuing to pray for your father and the rest of the family as they support him in his recovery.

Yes...it's getting pretty sad with all of the injuries...

We did two of our bathroom and our master bedroom today. I think that's enough for today! I think I will tackle the great room (our kitchen, dining room, and living room) later this week!

Good Sunday morning, my Christmas friends!

We're about to walk out the door going to church, but I have a second to post.

Yesterday was CRAZY busy at the store. I had to cook breakfast for 30 people who wanted it at 7am, thenI had to have steaks for 24 people for a lunch party, then there was a pizza birthday party...all in the same day! I was glad to see my shower and my couch last night!

Today, I get my offical swearing-in for my new office, then my first council meeting as mayor tomorrow night. Cross your fingers and send me a quick prayer!

I hope y'all have a wonderful day!

I have been to church and back again, now I am cleaning up more around the house and hanging out here.

Crazy days once in awhile are good for the adrenaline and make the day go real fast.

You really should not start your term in office by swearing LOL (that comes later)
Will definitely pray for you!

:???: Hey, what gives? Now I know another merry season has left us ...

I had to swing by the mall to buy some winter boots, I have a pair, but they are only good for getting out of a car into a warm building our home, not for treading in these Northern winters. Mission accomplished and there I was waiting for my husband to pick me up.

The specially painted postal boxes that were set up the first week of November for children to drop off the letters to Santa is gone.

GONE. I'm horrified mortified petrified and stupified to discover we have to wait that long to see those festive mailboxes again.

Crown you asked for signs - that's as sad as seeing the naked Jack pine on the snowbank.

I'm going to keep an eye out for merry signs not these sad ones.

Good afternoon, MMC! Just got done doing some cleaning and now I am going to go take a shower. For some reason, I thought the Steelers game was a late one - on at 8, but DH told me here earlier that is on at 4, so I will be able to watch it. Yahhhh! :???:

I guess I will curl up with my Nook and spend time with the kids until that comes on, which won't be to long until that starts. I have to decide what to do for dinner. EA said she wants pizza. That's almost her reponse all the time anymore and she's only 2! Kids and their pizza! :-D

Hope you're all having a great day!

Here is something funny for you football fans, especially us Cowboy fans! Last week (before the Cowboys played their game) we had our deacon meeting right after church. Our pastor told us we have one more meeting next week. He said, "don't worry, I will make sure you are all home in time to see where the Cowboys should have played". We got a great laugh but he jinxed the Cowboys! Ha ha! (He is a Cowboys fan by the way).

Our pastor always makes us laugh. Laughter is the best medicine! Ugh! I am going to miss out on that today.

at our church our pastor is a Canadians fan, while most everyone else is a Maple Leafs fan. This has led to many funny jokes over the years! One time someone replaced all his mementos with Leafs stuff (he has a shelf in his study with this on it)
