My boyfriend's family has left their decorations up because they know how much I love the holiday :)

Aww...that's so nice of them! They must really care about you!

For those of you who are trying to find the right one, it looks like this:

Thanks, MC!

It sounds like you have hit a gold mine with this family. What jewels!!! (Yes, I am mixing my metaphors!!!)

Thank you! They also got an artificial tree this year because of my allergies. they didnt want me to suffer. I know his family will be taking them done soon but they wanted me to enjoy it for a bit longer. They also added more religion to it than usual b/c his family is not as religious. An example would be the glass nativity his mom gave me to display in my future classroom

SW you are very special too :merry:

Top that with the 4 game losing streak, they may be in a little trouble. Geno can only do so much. Hurry back Sid!

I know, enough already! Do you really think Sid will really ever be able to come back and if he does, to the best of his ability? He has taken some hard hits. He needs to think about his life down the road...

I saw the candles in the window all year 20 years ago when I went to Lancaster County, PA, my Uncle lives there and he had the candles and a huge Santa Claus collection. I guess the Christmas bug does run in my family.

I get the idea from my mom and dad. I can't believe DH actually goes along with it, but he likes the idea too! It makes the house look really nice. My house is decorated with country decor throughout.

Now of course when we finish our basement, that will be the man cave and he will decorate that with his fireman things and all the sports stuff. :)

So is Made their uncle, too??? Haha!!!

We got our portraits back today, they look pretty good. Bringing the boys to the mall is such an adventure, they fight non-stop, yell, and scream at each other. It is quite embarrassing when LC kicks his shoes off and throws himself on the ground, its one of the reasons we now have a babysitter (their uncle) watch them to go grocery shopping, they are so rotten there. They are fighting as I type. Arrrggggggghhhhh!

I can remember those day with my brother and sister. Looking back on it now, I feel so bad for my mom and dad.

I have so much to look foward to! Good luck to you, too!

Send them out to me. I have four huge whiteboards on the walls in my classroom and almost every color imagineable of dry-erase markers. There are TONS of books and math manipulatives that would keep them occupied for hours. It is a large room, too, so they could stay away from each other!!!

Thank you ladies :) I feel very lucky. I know every relationship has its ups and downs which is why him and I fought last week, but I think I have been blessed with a b/f and another family that truly cares about me.

Sugar- I hope you are enjoying your day before you have to go to work.

SW- I hope you are having a nice relaxing day before school tomorrow. I wish that I could hop on a plane and come to sub for you in California on Wednesday.

How wise you are about adjusting. Relationships are always give and take!!! At least, in my opinion!!!

yes, it really was lovely of them. I was quite surprised that they were willing to forgo traditions for me. It made me feel more welcome in their family. Some of their traditions are still a little different, but I can learn to adjust to them as they have learned to adjust to mine. <3

I am, thanks! Getting ready to watch the Steelers play.

Hope you're enjoying your day as well! I am glad you worked everything out with your boyfriend by the way!

People in the South are noted for having the candles and wreaths on all the windows. We used to have real candles, but we only burned them when we were home. At first, the "fake" candles had blue "flames" and red flames. Now most people use the battery-operated ones with the clear/white lights. One lady here in our CA town is from Alabama, and she has the candles and wreaths on EVERY window. It is so beautiful and inviting. Makes me homesick for what I consider my "real" home--the Tar Heel State!!!

I know they may not always do things that I like doing, but they are willing to make some compromises for me, which I value, so I have learned to respect their traditions. If we ever get married, I will include the traditions his family uses as well as the traditions my family embraces to form our own family traditions. I'm only 23, so I dont think we will be talking about marriage anytime soon though

ANYtime. And I honestly mean that!!! Now I am being serious--if you can get out here before the end of the year, I have LOTS of stuff you could take back with you. Plus, bring a flash drive and I will give you TONS of stuff for your computer--over 20 years worth!!!

Good afternoon everyone. So I'm finally ready to shamelessly plug...I mean advertise my secret project. I hope I'm not stepping on anyones feet here but I've been thinking for the last couple years about starting my own Christmas blog/podcast to kill off any PCB. Well this year I've actually decided to do it. I'm still figuring out the final hosting location for the blog but for now it is temporarily at www.christmascast.tumblr.com. You can also subsribe in iTunes if you'd like here is the linkhttp://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/christmascast/id493840350 It isn't my first podcast but it is my first Christmas podcast. I hope you all like it, it's only about 10 min and I plan to keep them short and 2 or 3 a month. If you're lucky you may even get mentioned(sorry to anyone not this time around). I hope you all enjoy and it brings you a little Christmas on this Sunday. :???:

I got married my senior year in college!!! Your idea of incorporation is valid and valuable!!!
