I'm sorry to hear that. Your whole family will be in my Prayers.

Good Morning MMC!!!!!! It is going to be cool here today but still above normal. I'm going to have my niece pretty much all day so I don't see much getting done around here. Maybe I can talk her into going through all of their toys here and getting rid of some. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning everyone! Kind of a cloudy foggy mild morning with temps around 50F.this is the wierdest winter ever, but going to get more seasonal later in the week. I am taking today off but will return tomorrow to work. Everything is going great, only had to get up 2x last night with Jordan. I know dogs and cats can sleep up to 20 hours a day, think the same is the same for newborns. Have a great monday everyone!

Good morning, everyone! Today is the day I have been dreading for a while now - the start of a new semester. I know it sounds silly since it's something that has to be done, but it still doesn't make it any easier! I am hoping that today goes well for me and I get this semester started off on the right foot. I don't know how I used to sit in school for seven hours! College classes seem like they drag on forever!

The good thing is that my three classes are fifty minutes each. All of my classes in college so far have either been an hour and twenty minutes long, an hour and fifteen minutes long, an hour and forty minutes long, or two hours and forty five minutes long. 50 minutes seems like a heck of a lot shorter, but 3 in a row is what bothers me!

Keep me in your thoughts today and wish me luck!

I hope you all have a wonderful Monday and that it flies by so we can get to the weekend and relax!

Auntie, speaking of getting along well with an ex. My ex, the father of my children, and I get along very well. I love his entire family and they love me as well. We have spent many holidays together and talk on a regular basis. My ex will phone me sometimes just to see how we are doing and he calls me every year on my birthday. I never feel weird about it, we have been apart for over 20 years and what has happened and how he left me is all in the past. I talk to his family all the time too. As far as I am concerned his family will ALWAYS be my family! =)

Wayne has no issues whatsoever if we speak to one to each other. It's all good with him! =)
It sound like you and Autie have a healthy sense of forgiveness. I've sort of struggled, especially lately, with the idea of forgiving my ex-wife. It's been a long time, but that kind of hurt take a long time for me to forgive. Her grandmother recently passed away, however, and I remember how close she was with her grandmother. I thought of offering condolences, but that nagging anger from 20 years ago keeps rearing its ugly head. We'll see.

Well I am taking my 2 niece's to Chuck e Cheese tomorrow so I am headed off to bed. Goodnight Everyone!!!!!!!!!

After I read this I prayed you made it out alive, I went there once with my friends daughter (who is now --- ouch 18 now) but I have never gone back too scary... Kids all over the place!!! Tee hee J/K she had a blast and I still tease her today saying I have pictures of you in the ball pit!!!!

((((Seawaters))))

This got me thinking tonight. At least for me many if not all of you are strangers. I know no one on this forum personally yet I feel a certain connection. Maybe it is that little thing deep within all of us that brought us here in the first place. That little bit of Christmas that is a shimmering light in the sometimes cold and frigid dark. Seawaters tonight and tomorrow, and the day after that and the day after that I'll be sending you that light. That joy, that little bit of Christmas. You can have it as long as you need it. If you always need it that's ok too as I'm sure someone will lend me theirs.

What an awesome post iliam, you stated in perfectly.

It will be my first time there, so I am very excited. I've only been to Ocean City, MD. I used to go there every summer, as far as the beach was concerned. DH has been there before. It will take us about 10 1/2 hours, so we will leave at night and hopefully the kids will sleep most of the way!

I enjoy Myrtle Beach, I haven't been there in about 5 years now, but I've always had a wonderful time. Hope the kids do sleep for you when you go.

I actually don't like the beach, but Myrtle Beach has become much more than that. It has a lot of family fun!

You are so right Brad, it is a great place for families

I can't pretend to fully understand the fear and "what ifs" that are likely roaming through your mind. I do know and have witnessed amazing and miraculous recoveries. As you recall, I have included your mom and son in my Relay for Life treks around the track and I'll walk or run for you too. My ex-DIL survived three battles with different types of cancers. The last one, she was told not to bother with treatments, but she endured them and is still in remission two years later. Keep your spirits up and hope in your heart, you shall overcome! It won't be an easy conversation, but I am certain you will find the courage to talk to your family and the words will come to you.

Hugs and well wishes from the Snowy North.

WOW!!! How awesome that you are there for her. And what a power post!

Thanks Sugar.

My father is a survivor as well. In fact, it was his story and my Christmas miracle that paved the way for my introduction to a place called Christmas.com, the first forum I discovered where folks, like us, could gather and chat about Christmas. My father had a similar form of a cancer that Mike Douglas (the actor) had. His own mother died from it when I was only a year old. There has been so much progress made in treatments over the years that I am happy to report when I add names to "My Hero Cape", there are always more names in the "infield" (survivors) than in the "outfield" (in memory). This year our theme is whatever each team choses and my team is going with the hero theme again. I'm usually the team mascot, this year I'm going to dress up as a lab tech working on a cure with an creative idea I have to include Star Wars lightsabers to target different cancer cells. This year's local 12-hour trek is scheduled for June 22nd-23rd.

This is another great post, I am in awe of all you done - it is such a painful disease for all the family members.

Gang, with the wife gone and NFL playoffs coming on (I love NFL football...my favorite out of all major sports), I have every tv in the house on NFL network to make sure I miss nothing as I move from room to room. It's a beautiful thing...

Today, I will do just a little work outside as the weather is decent and then will come in to watch games and clean house. Should be a heck of a day!

I will be around....see ya later!

OMG!!! I didn't get to "watch" Saturday's afternoon game, but we did see the late one OMG!!!

AND SUNDAY!!!!!!! WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOO GGGGGGGGGG-MMMMEEEENNNNNNN!!!!!! WOOOOOO HOOOOOO!!!!

Good afternoon, MMC!

I'm going to make baked potato soup chowder later this afternoon, and if time permits, I will make either a pineapple or coconut cake. I have already started trying out new recipes for the Christmas Season

Have a MERRY day!!!!!!!!!!!

Yummy!!!! Can I be a taster?!?!?!

Wow, y'all have been busy! I know I'm never going to get caught up now! Well, today the tree comes down. I've been drinking coffee and taking the ornaments off the tree. It's bittersweet, but if I never took it down, I'd never have the fun of putting a tree up in December! Or at least that's what I'm telling myself.

That is an awesome way too look at it!!!

Hey everyone! I have snapped 3 pics of Jordan he was born this morning at 130am..I have just got home for the first time in 2 days to get some sleep but I wanted to pass the word on show off my new son!!

http://mymerrychristmas.com/forum/album.php?albumid=657

WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO what a beautiful baby GDawg!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

And Baby Dawg shares a birthday with Xmas365!!!! HOW COOL!!!

Well after 2 and a half hours at chuck e cheese I am exhausted. My niece's had fun though so thats what matters. Now I am off to my BIL's grocery store. He marked down a bunch of hams today and I had him hold one back for me.

Wow you did make out alive!!! And you have energy to spare!!!

No ball pits at the new one. Most of the games were for older kids which doesn't make sense to me. You usually don't see a lot of teenagers hanging out in Chuck e Cheese. My niece's enjoyed all of the ones they could ride on though and all of the ones that took their picture. I also found a game where I could get them 40 tickets every time. So they still had almost 1100 tickets to split when we left.

Glad to hear they had a good time...

I JUST HAVE to say this: You are the best uncle ever!!!

Right, he really is way awesome!!!

Georgia cracker?? I have never heard that term before.lol believe me everyone down here thinks I talk like I am from California....I grew up in atlanta and lets be candid here...no way is atlanta a typical southern city..Savannah in the southern portion of the state has great southern charm and everyone has a southern accent. After the tech boom in the late 80's and all of the 90's Atlanta is more like 90% northern and western transplants...so it's nothing like the show Designing women would have you believe it is...anyhow I digress....I am going to use the term Georgia cracker at work and see what responce I get.lol
Before the Braves moved to Atlanta in 1966, Atlanta had a minor league baseball team called the Atlanta Crackers.

Good morning ya'll! It's cool here today & rainy.
Both my sons return to college today. They both go to the university in town. This is the 1st time there for my oldest. He was @ another playing football but....long story. He did not like the way the other place handled some of the "troubled players" & became very ill also. He's my blindside son-i've tried to blog the story w/ no luck. When i tried, it even told me it had to be less than 200 words among other things. Sorry just can't do it in 200 words!
Anyhoo my 19 yr.old is @ the university too & has a full schedule. He needed 16 more credit hours so as not to have to go this summer he piled himself this semester. Sociology, marine biology, computer science, english, & 1 more i can't think of right now. God bless him-i hope he works hard.
Baby girl started her 2nd sophomore semester-it seems to me like she has her most difficult classes this time also. What up w/ that? All 3 of'em are gonna have me crazy by spring!!
I have so much to do today i don't know where to start but i do always love to start my day w/ you guys!

Ughh, i had a gigantic bottle of liquid laundry soap on the shelf above the washer, heard a loud noise, omg....yep laundry soap all over the place. It fell somehow & now it's down the wall, the washer, & all over the floor. Brand new bottle too, used 1x. Hold on....................................................................................................well i scooped it up w/ pitchers, bowls, everything. What a mess!!

Love & hugs to all of you! I'll check in a little later!

MerryCarey, regarding the Time Life Book of Christmas. On the book I got at the library does state 1987 inside. The library also stamped inside the book that it was shelved on January 7, 1988 so I think it is from 1987 and not a later release.

Just curious if you know if they used 2 different covers or I don't have the right one? Sorry, I'm not too bright when it comes to books being released and not sure how that all works.

Trying to brainstorm this one for those looking for this book because CM3 only found the copy I have. Not that this is super urgent but inquiry minds want to know.

Good morning, everyone!

I have completed my normal post-Christmas blues pattern and am ready to return for another year of counting down! Great to see everyone has returned. Again, I hope your 2011 Christmas Season was as magical as mine. It was a true blast. I loved being home with family and old friends.

I returned to Ottawa on New Years Eve and enjoyed spending time with friends here. I actually had an extra week of vacation, as the government took a little longer to renew my contract. Oh well! I enjoyed an extra week of sleeping in until 10! Now, I am back at work, although I really wish I could have slept in until 10 AM this morning... We had a 4 on 4 tournament this weekend and it seems to have taken a lot out of me. My first tournament since mid October. My legs are exhausted and my body is sore! As much as it hurts, I love this feeling. It was great to hit the field again with friends.

Well, great to see everyone here is enjoying themselves. Have a wonderful Monday, everyone! We're already at the second full week of the year. Only 50 more!!

the weather here has been very strange too, nothing we could actually call winter yet. Some snow has come down, then quickly dissappears when it rains. Mild temps for rest of the week again.

You will be fine..but I will wish you luck anyway...just also wanted to say I remember how stressful college was,in fact I really did not even like it until I was a junior. In other words freshman and soph. years were brutal...but I loved junior and senior and 5th 1/2 senior years!lol Try to enjoy it though I remember being so stressed out especially when it came to my statistics class I had to take 3x...but my first 2 years after college all I wanted to do was return and relive it all over again,,no matter what anyone tells you high school is not the best years of your life it's college!!!

Thanks!! I'm a junior right now and I'm still not too much of a fan of college - maybe for the fact that I commute. In the fall it was a lot easier for me to go visit my friends at different colleges and hang out there, but now with the bad weather in the winter that's impossible. Since I commute no one does anything on campus...it's so boring! Ugh - I have statistics tomorrow and I'm nervous for it! I finished Calculus last semester and it about killed me it was so hard. I don't know how I managed up with a B on that class when all of my test grades were beyond awful.

I think the schools nowadays try too hard to make the classes impossibly difficult because they don't want anyone to have fun!
