Shellie, I spoke with our Elks bartender last night. She is from Co Antrim (I am not sure of the spelling.) She did say, "Tiocfaidh ár lá." She also taught me how to pronounce it!!!

Morning all
How was your weekend good i hope
Hopng this finds you all in good form. i no some of you are under the weather about things hopefully all will be alright. and some have a cold or flu or other health issues. again hoping all comes good
Weekend was quiet. went to a car boor sale yesterday and i could not beleive it. they have now have no toilets.
Its very hard to stand at a car boot sale for 3 hours . i was so scared to even have a cup of tea. i went over to the guys at the gate and asked him what about then. they said to use the toilets at the petrol station.
The man here was in a rage not so much for then but for me as i was the only woman seller here. one of then said if i wanted run down just to let me know.. i have went to this car boot on and of for years as i like suporting it as it takes in stray dogs and rehomes then. but these two running have not a clue they are running in into the ground. i think they do have private toilets for themsleves as they be there all days. pity bracmac was not over here .he might have got a phone call lol.
Anyway start of another week. so hope you all have a good one catch you all later

Took the last of the Christmas down yesterday.....kinda blah but really ready for the great coming year. One of my Christmas goals is to watch all of the stuff I have DVR'd and on VHS and DVD before next Christmas. I never make it. I have so much I am gonna have to start now and actually plan to get it done. Watched Christmas in Connecticut last night.....Had never seen that somehow.....was good! Anyone else like it? Also want a clearance unlit tree from K-Mart....if it is still there this weekend, gonna buy it....if not I will just wait and look forward to the fall to pick one out....

Rest is very important. When you feel better, just write/type fast!!!

Hi every one,
woke up today feeling absolutely horrible, so i knew right away i was staying home... i hope i will feel a little better in a while since i can't spend a day not working on my thesis...
i hope every one is doing well!

We'll be thinking of you. It is so hard and, yes, you will miss her dearly. Praying for strength for all of you!!!

Greetings from The Christmas house in Norway.
Here it's still snowing!!! :D

We have lost our beloved grandmother so we are going to
say our goodbyes to her this Friday.
It's going to be hard. We love her so much. And miss her terrible...

Hope everyone is doing fine!!

Lots of love....

Is it not kind of cold for a boot sale? Lack of washroom facilities is always a problem at these events. Nice that you can raise money to help the dogs that need a home.

Depends on what you call cold. we are used to it over there i read about your posts and you say its cold at 25 and 30c you should be over here its about 2-5 c maybe a good day wood 8-10 at this tome of the year its just a way of life

For some reason, yesterday seemed like Sunday to me. Today, Hubby and I are going to the Crab Feed at the Elks Lodge. This is a major money-maker for our scholarship fund. It's an all you can eat affair. I don't like crab at all, so I take my own fake crab (which I LOVE) and some lobster. I pay for the sides and drawn butter. There are also raffles and an auction. Hubby wants to bid on a $700 outdoor grill. I think it will be a fun day, overall!!!
It sounds like you guys have a lot of fun and do a lot of stuff at the Elks Lodge!

Speaking of Chuck E. Cheese, we have one nearby that has been there since I was a teenager. I went there as a teen, took my kids there and now take my grandchildren. The kids just love that place!

That is so cool how the place is still there isn't it what great memories have been made and still being made.

COMPARING 1961 TO 2011

This should be sent only to those whose level of maturity qualifies them to relate to it...

1961: Long hair
2011: Longing for hair

Too cute for words!!! Had me laughing although I am 40 I can still get what you mean!!!

Anybody else watching these football games? Looks like Detroit and New Orleans will be a great game.

Made, are they testing next week at Daytona?

We watched all day Sunday!!! All I can say is WOW!!! I did not see the Bronco's winning that is for sure.

On a happy note the G-Men won - I was over the moon really!!!

Yeah, it looked like the Bungles are back.

Sorry about that Xmas!!! I was sure hoping they would win!!!

Good evening,

It was a rather forgetful birthday for my sports teams, my Bruins lost and then the Bengals lost. My wife and boys got me Transformers 3 DVD for my gift. Work was the slowest day ever, but I got my associates laughing pretty hard, I can't repeat what I said here, not PG. Day off tomorrow, we get to go pick up our family portraits.

Have a great night!

That kind of stinks you know back in 2010 the Super Bowl was on my B-Day and Indy lost, it kinda was a let down you know - we had this big Super Bowl Party and with a cheesy onside kick NO wins... Ewwwww!!!

You? Miss something here??? LOL Not possible you post a matic!!

Tee hee that is cute post a matic!!!

The best Uncle ever? Probably not.

Made if we say the BEST UNCLE EVER we mean it and will have NO lip from you!!! HA, HA, HA!!! J/K don't sell yourself short, you really are a great Uncle not many would do what you do, and you will not change my mind on this!

I'm really tired of these announcers talking about the Saint's onside kick during the Super Bowl.

Ugh, right that was such a chesse ball play IMO!!! It still bothers me!!!

Well both of the teams I was cheering for lost today. So I'm going to go cry myself to sleep. Goodnight Everyone!!!!!!!

Sorry about that I was hoping the LIONS won too!!!

OHHHHHHH MADE AND COACH... we will be covening our first DARLENE LOVE FANCLUB meeting in a few days,... I will be in touch to discuss the agenda,...

YABAB!

Um, when, where!?!?!?!

Mom and I just watched Giada De Laurentiis' Christmas special that we had recorded on the DVR. All I have to say? It put me so into the Christmas spirit!!! The house she was cooking in was a cabin that was all decked out for the holidays and decorations were everywhere inside - needless to say I didn't let her delete it so I can keep re-watching all winter!

I was so bummed I missed that, now I really wish I didn't I will have to wait until her show is ready on Blu-Ray, now I have something Christmasy to look forward too!!!

Good morning! Overcast here today. Look yucky out. But the coffee is good and the weather is always good on MMC.

Going to hang out today and do some work and cleaning. Not much, but enough to keep me busy. Plan on watching some football and probably cooking.

Alright gang, I'm going to go read some other threads. See you later!

Woo hoo, I like the sound of your Sunday, hope you enjoyed!

Christmas Holdover Report.

At this time of year, to ease the passing of Christmas blues, I like to look to see how many Christmas decorations are still up.
I'm pleased to report that a least a third of the houses in our neighborhood have their outdoor ornamentation still in place!
Even Crabtree Valley Shopping Center has not taken all of theirs down yet.
And the "A Christmas To Remember" store, who's photo launches our annual Blossoms thread, is still operating. I inquired as to when they would close and was told January 16.
Over a week left to see them and remember Christmas 2011!

(Makes me feel a little better!)

How about you? Many decorations still left in your areas?
(Gee. Sounds like a good idea for a new thread!)

I still have some up... All the outside is still in full force... I have the diningroom still all decked out, I will probably have it all down by next Sunday. 4 neighbors still have their houses all light up!!!

Today, I get my offical swearing-in for my new office, then my first council meeting as mayor tomorrow night. Cross your fingers and send me a quick prayer!

I hope y'all have a wonderful day!

CONGRATULATIONS on your official swearing in!!!

Here is something funny for you football fans, especially us Cowboy fans! Last week (before the Cowboys played their game) we had our deacon meeting right after church. Our pastor told us we have one more meeting next week. He said, "don't worry, I will make sure you are all home in time to see where the Cowboys should have played". We got a great laugh but he jinxed the Cowboys! Ha ha! (He is a Cowboys fan by the way).

Our pastor always makes us laugh. Laughter is the best medicine! Ugh! I am going to miss out on that today.

Tee Hee it is great to have a pastor who makes you laugh and you are soooo right it is the best medicine!!!

Today is my 9th year anniversary at work! (Also Elvis's birthday, ha ha).

Well HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!! Ahh yes I still love Elvis!!! His voice was so beautiful.

Work shared is cut in half. Love shared is double!!!

Awesome - May I quote you?!?!?!

Haha...the "Ding, fries are done!" You wouldn't believe the idiots that used to sit on the computers in my high school and play that over and over again. They thought it was so funny.

But yet again...I would laugh at it too!

Thanks for the laugh, RJD! :)

That was too funny!!! I really do not watch the show but this was good!

Auntie, speaking of getting along well with an ex. My ex, the father of my children, and I get along very well. I love his entire family and they love me as well. We have spent many holidays together and talk on a regular basis. My ex will phone me sometimes just to see how we are doing and he calls me every year on my birthday. I never feel weird about it, we have been apart for over 20 years and what has happened and how he left me is all in the past. I talk to his family all the time too. As far as I am concerned his family will ALWAYS be my family! =)

Wayne has no issues whatsoever if we speak to one to each other. It's all good with him! =)

That really is good, did you have Children with your ex? That always makes it better when two adults can work out the hurt and the differences yet still get to the other side without further pain.

Only 50 weeks until Christmas! Not doesn't seem too long. By the way, Christmas Vacation is on tv right now.

LOVE IT CJ!!! I didn't realize this AWESOME news!!!

Who's cooking lunch? I'm hungry!

Um, you were all suppose to be at my place!!! Where did you all go?!?!?! I have way too many leftovers... Chili, brauts, buns, nachos, pizza... boo hoo!!!

Good Luck!!!!!!! I'm sure you'll do a great job and learn a lot for that presidental run in 2016!!!!

You got my vote!!!

We got our portraits back today, they look pretty good. Bringing the boys to the mall is such an adventure, they fight non-stop, yell, and scream at each other. It is quite embarrassing when LC kicks his shoes off and throws himself on the ground, its one of the reasons we now have a babysitter (their uncle) watch them to go grocery shopping, they are so rotten there. They are fighting as I type. Arrrggggggghhhhh!

Tee hee!!! This actually sounds awesome!!! One day in the future you may say, hey remember all that fighting!!!

We are well under three hundred posts to hit 400,000 total posts at MMC.

Well under is that like close too, or not that far off from?!?!?!

I can pretty much measure a smidgen, a teeniny bit, a pinch, and a few other Southern measurements. But what the heck is "well under???

TEE HEE!!! LOL!!!

The opposite of "just over".

oH OK NOW i GET IT TEE HEE

But where is "Under the Boardwalk" for the younger set who need to hear..."the french fries and hot dogs they sell"???

I was hopin' for this one...

I think this may be a long night...and quite honestly I am kinda anxious...my in laws are here which makes me nervous anyway...please no offense my northeast buddies here..I think it takes a while to win them over. I had to go pahhk the caah for them. I am sure they sent thier dtr to college down here and expected her to return home after graduation not meet a Georgia hick and get pregnant much less a military guy that will move every 4 years...they have not come out and said it,,,but I feel like that...and i'm nervous anyway...ugh...anyhow I hope everyone here is doing good and having a nice sunday night!

Gdawg... You don't know that, why they could be feeling the same way you are, wondering if you like them?!?! I am not there of course, but I cannot see any mother or father not being proud and happy that their child married someone in the Military, just think of all that you gave up and how much you give and all you have learned. What parent wouldn't want their Grandchildren taught these values? I think you may been nervous because you want them to like you, I bet they may already. Good luck and I hope you get to know your In-laws and that you build a wonderful relationship with them.

Feeling kinda sentimental and mushy right now...just wanted to tell you guys you help me out alot here...give me confidence and reassurance, I truly feel like we are all a big family here...thanks for all you guys do!!

Thank you GDawg... I know what you mean and feel the same!!!

We got your back!!!

Here's wishing you a soft seat!!! You will do fine!!!

Good morning, everyone! Today is the day I have been dreading for a while now - the start of a new semester. I know it sounds silly since it's something that has to be done, but it still doesn't make it any easier! I am hoping that today goes well for me and I get this semester started off on the right foot. I don't know how I used to sit in school for seven hours! College classes seem like they drag on forever!

The good thing is that my three classes are fifty minutes each. All of my classes in college so far have either been an hour and twenty minutes long, an hour and fifteen minutes long, an hour and forty minutes long, or two hours and forty five minutes long. 50 minutes seems like a heck of a lot shorter, but 3 in a row is what bothers me!

Keep me in your thoughts today and wish me luck!

I hope you all have a wonderful Monday and that it flies by so we can get to the weekend and relax!

Good morning all! Another manic Monday eh?

I went to the DMV this morning to register my new car. I was expecting to walk out writing a $400 check. I only had to write $86. That was a good feeling as I'm still recovering from Christmas spending.

I hope everyone has a great Monday. We'll see you see later!

Military men are the best in the world! Just like my dad!

Yes, "our day will come." She also said the same as you, that you had to be careful!!!

Georgia cracker?? I have never heard that term before.lol believe me everyone down here thinks I talk like I am from California....I grew up in atlanta and lets be candid here...no way is atlanta a typical southern city..Savannah in the southern portion of the state has great southern charm and everyone has a southern accent. After the tech boom in the late 80's and all of the 90's Atlanta is more like 90% northern and western transplants...so it's nothing like the show Designing women would have you believe it is...anyhow I digress....I am going to use the term Georgia cracker at work and see what responce I get.lol
Yeah, Georgia cracker is a pretty common phrase. But, as you say, Atlanta is not a southern city. We crackers will be glad to make you an honorary cracker, though!

Kerstig, get well soon!

Solice, so very sorry for your loss.

Crown, the neighbors across from us took down all their lights. =(

Jennifer91, hang in there! We are thinking about you!

Bradmac,

Just think of your situation right now. You don't have that ex in your life anymore for a very valid reason. You are so blessed with your precious wife and beautiful children. So now it's time to thank your ex for being out of your life to make way for the family you have now! =)

Merrymistletoe
, good luck to your college kids returning back to school!

Brent
, good to see you and glad you are feeling better from the blues!

Sugar,
don't you just love it when your baby starts talking??? My granddaughter is 2 years old now and I just love to hear the conversations she has!

Made,
have fun babysitting! I will bring all 3 of my grandkids over and we can have loads of fun with them running around!

Xmas366, my son-in-law is a die hard Patriots fan. With me being Cowboys fan we have fun picking on each other. I guess he got that last laugh though now that my Boys are out of it. Ha ha! Wayne's Ravens are still in so I am going to cheer them on!

Christmasstar, you are so right about the intense military training with Dawg's new family! =)

Shellie, I also like anyone who raises money for stray animals and finds homes for them. I LOVE animals of all kinds!

Hey, all this talk of Georgia. Paula Deen is from there, ya'll!

I just love that lady and her whole family! I enjoy her shows especially at Christmas.

Lauriebear, not sure if you noticed in the paragraph you quoted me but I did mention he is the father of my children. That would probably be why we still talk. We do have 3 grandchildren together too! =)

HMMM...I love to eat at her restuarant in Savannah....actually almost every restaurant in Savannah is good...I am thinking about what to eat now for lunch.

Thanks!! I'm a junior right now and I'm still not too much of a fan of college - maybe for the fact that I commute. In the fall it was a lot easier for me to go visit my friends at different colleges and hang out there, but now with the bad weather in the winter that's impossible. Since I commute no one does anything on campus...it's so boring! Ugh - I have statistics tomorrow and I'm nervous for it! I finished Calculus last semester and it about killed me it was so hard. I don't know how I managed up with a B on that class when all of my test grades were beyond awful.

I think the schools nowadays try too hard to make the classes impossibly difficult because they don't want anyone to have fun!

My biggest worry once I got up in my major was the dreaded acedemic probation...It's not like I went to a hard school though like harvard or yale but still I was the type that always had to study to get a "c". It also helps to flirt flirt flirt and cozy up to professors,I had to always choose older lonely female professors, believe me it works, does it do much for your dignity well no,but we are talking about your future here!!! I was a business major and the hardest classes I ever took her statistics and business law and Economics..

Right you are! I've considered, lately, that it was a long time ago, and if she hadn't found another "man of her dreams", I wouldn't have the wonderful family I have right now.
