There may be a heat wave across much of the U.S., but it's FREEZING here in the office every day. I'm huddled over a tiny space heater here trying to keep from shivering. Wish I could think of a way to send some of this chill to all you folks who NEED air conditioning just now. Please send hot cocoa and warm thoughts ...
:cold:

Hey everyone!

Just popping in at work to say ho ho ho hi!

This weekend we are going to see Thomas the train in St Thomas. Should be fun, William cant wait. I have an extra day off this week, and that happens to be tomorrow, PINESDAY! So Ill be helping Carl cook up a special treat! Whats with this heat?! Why wont it go away? I wish and wish for fall but keep waking up to sizzling. Well I better get back to work lol. Have a good day all! And Brent, I know where you are coming from with job issues and all!

Good morning, MMC! I tried to reply to as many of you as possible from recent posts, so if I missed anyone I'm sorry. I hope that you all have a wonderful morning and a Tuesday filled with Christmas joy!

My life has been pretty boring the past few days. I got the pink eye on Saturday night but I didn't realize it until Sunday when I woke up and my eye wouldn't open. I spent the majority of my day in the doctor's office waiting for them to see me and prescribe me the drops. By the time I finally got home, I just wanted to relax. Yesterday was basically a repeat, minus going to the doctor's office. I spent the day working, doing school work, and just taking it easy. Today (again) will be a repeat of the past two days. It's very frustrating not being able to wear my contact lenses. The bad news is that the pink eye spread to my other eye, so now I am going to have to wait even longer to put them in! I guess I can't get a break.

Thank you for your nice comments for my friend about her dog. She appreciates the kindness! :] She is doing a lot better today and her other dog is finally adapting to being the only one in the family. It's a sad story but there is sadly nothing that can be done. And thank you for the well wishes when it comes to my eye!

My mom and I were hoping to head to the mall this week, but it doesn't look like it will happen. I am going to have to be without my contacts for a few more days and she will be busy with work. This weekend we will be celebrating my grandpa's 87th birthday, so I hope I am all better by then.

I am going to make sure that I have nothing to get done for school, then I'll probably just be lazy and relax in front of the TV. Have a great day at work everyone!!

have a good day jennifer91!!!!! hope your eyes feel better.

I do similar to this all the time.......Drink coffee, coffee, coffee while I am working then when I lay down for bed, sleep for just a short time then wide awake !!! I hate that !! Then I use 5 Hour Energy to start it all again !!!

it's a viscious circle isn't it cm3? lol!

Christmas in July from Recipe Lion

thanks seawaters, i'm definitely gonna try some of these.

Good morning, everyone!

A quick hello can't hurt. Hope all is well with everyone. I miss you guys. Not much is new here. Still working the nothing - minimum wage - job and searching for a full-time position. Otherwise, I'm happy. Kim and I have been enjoying ourselves. We didn't do a whole lot on the weekend, really... But, we did go to the movies with her best friend and her boyfriend to see Ted. It was absolutely hysterical! It is really vulgar, however. Thankfully, none of us are offended very easily, so we loved it!

Practicing Tuesdays and Thursdays as well as playing on Mondays with my league team continues to take a lot of my time. I guess it's good this year that Kim is working 12-8, considering I am rarely home before 9:30!

Christmas in July is nearly here! Kim's friend Britt was complaining on Saturday that Hallmark was beginning to put out Christmas ornaments last Friday. Of course, I informed her that it happens ever year! I can't wait to go to the store and check it out! Should be exciting...!

Anyway, I should get back to "work." I have too much on my plate here for what I am getting paid... Ahh well. At least I have some income for now.

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

hey dude! good to hear you & kim are doing good. stay positive about the job search!

You're not going to see it with her???
I think I am the only woman in the whole world who has no interest in that movie. It looks super corny to me! I guess women don't care what the movie is about, do they? Ha ha! But hey, if the ladies like it and enjoy the movie that's all that matters! I hope your wife has fun!

I want to go there some day!

Me too!!!

Seawaters is a hero for sure!!!!!! She is another one who inspires me in positive thinking!

Those new shoes should get you running and caught up on the forums! =)

Late coffee, not good for the nights sleep (unless you're Binger)! No coffee for you this afternoon!

YOU GOT THAT RIGHT! SHOULD'VE KNOWN BETTER!

That's very interesting! Never heard of Matching Day.

At our feed store we have a gardening center and I am suppose to give people advice on planting and I tend to kill everything I plant! lol

I am looking forward to Hallmark too!!!

Happy Birthday to him!!!

Take care of yourself. Lots of hugs and prayers sent your way!

Me me me!!!

That would be nice! Coffee, good friends and lots of kitties. We see dogs running by too! lol

Right here! Come take me away!

Good to see you! Good luck on your job search. It's a good thing to be happy through it all. Keep your head up high, something will come your way!

Wayne and I took our granddaughter to the lake for a walk. She is so funny! She is almost 3 years old and she talked all the way to the lake, the whole time we walked and all the way back home. She really keeps Wayne and I laughing a lot!

While we were walking my granddaughter started singing, Mele Kalikimaka then said, "Sing it grandma"! So her and I started singing it while walking. It happens to be my favorite Christmas in July song.

]
Oh that's the perfect song for Christmas in July!!

I forgot to mention but I FINALLY saw Mr. Krueger's Christmas, starring Jimmy Stewart, last night. I decided to watch it here on MMC after I heard the new wonderful podcast and Jeff talked about it. It's only 30 minutes long and has a very moving story. I LOVED IT!!! I am sure most of you already seen it, if not, what are you waiting for!?

I highly recommend the podcast too. There is a discussion of Jimmy Stewart (along with other legends) and the making of this short movie:
Modern Legends of Christmas Podcast

thanks, i'll be sure & check it out!

Hallmark is having their Christmas in July movie weekend this weekend!! Whoo Hooooo!!! I know where I'll be. It may be in the 90s but I can close my curtains, crank up the AC and pretend it's snowing outside!

i hear ya' sprinklehouse!! woop woop!

I got an email from Yankee Candle today, they have started advertising their Fall scented candles! New scents include:
Apple Pumpkin
Season's Blessings
Treehouse Memories
Whoopie Pie!
Caramel Pecan Pie
and Harvest Welcome.

My wife really wants to try Apple Pumpkin, it's my favorite scent (apple) and hers (pumpkin) so it could be a great compromise.

I wonder if they will ever make one that smells like a roasting turkey. I have always been curious about that, imagine burning a candle that smells like Thanksgiving while watching Christmas in July stuff.

New Christmas scents can't be too far behind.

oh i like the sound of season's blessings & harvest welcome! thanks for sharing!

i was laughing while reading this post. it's so funny how the heat has been so brutal for well over a week & now it's in the 80's, the a/c is kicking, & i too am freezing. hope you get warm merry!

hi ya sorry to hear your other eye is infected to. real pain ... sorry i must have missed something about your friends dog.. and have a nice time with your grandpa,s 87th wish him happy birthday

I think today is Annoying Day at the office ... the office kitchen has been full of dirty dishes for days on end. Folks just drop their soiled crockery in the sink and leave it there. And someone has turned the fridge setting up so high that the carton of milk is a solid block of ice. So there I was in the kitchen running hot water over the milk carton, trying to melt a couple spoonfuls for my tea, which was a feat considering the space under the faucet was occupied by dirty dishes.

Yes, I know ... I should be grateful to be working in an office with a sink, a fridge, and a supply of milk ... I'm sure I'm an ingrate to think it should have a clean sink and pourable milk. I think my middle age is showing.

I'm sorry you had an annoying day at work, Merry! It would be very upsetting to have dirty dishes in the sink for days on end. We had that problem when I worked in a department store - somebody posted a note that any dirty dish left behind at the end of the day would be thrown out. Amazing how clean the break room was after that! Any how, I hope your day improved!

Good afternoon, MMC!

I used to love ribs ! That was 20 years ago before I stopped eating red meat though .....Hope you have a wonderful day !! xo

I could never give up red meat, I do not eat as much as I used to, but really enjoy a good streak done on the BBQ once in awhile.
You could always do chicken ribs!!LOL

Well, since I seem to be the official MMC dishwasher, I will come do them! :D

Seriously though, they should all be grateful for the same things you mentioned and take pride in keeping it clean! Hopefully they will start doing that.

I have this on an old video tape and watch it every Christmas Season.
One of the best short Christmas stories I have ever seen.

I cannot believe that this was the first time I ever seen it! Jimmy Stewart is my favorite actor of all time and It's a Wonderful Life is my all time favorite movie. What a wonderful story!

I don't know, I have been in my brothers tree house, and I do not think I would ever want a candle with that smell in my house!!
