Thankyou Snow-in-Texas and Christmas-A-Holic, love the card!

My son brought in the mail and said "you are not going to belive this...this letter is for you and Penny! I have never seen a letter for Penny before! " Right away I knew it had to be from someone here!!

kitchen almost clean again, just soaking a few things that my daughter did not bother to clean when she came over to cook a few things...we need to talk!
Getting ready for a "why do we have this anyway?" garage sale on Saturday.
Watching the Olympics, these athletes are amazing! They are showing the gymnastics right now.

Good evenng, Christmas family. The end of another weekend. Kind of sad. Not much going on here. The furkids and me are watching back to back episodes of Undecover Boss.....Kind of interesting where CEO's go undercover in their own companies and get a firsthand look at conditions, what the work is like, etc.

Had a REALLY scary experience this afternoon when I took the furkids out. Clancy and Hermione went galloping off to do their thing and I of course stayed with Wishbone. Within a few seconds of getting out in the yard with Wish a HUGE hawk started circling right over my head. I was standing stradling Wish so the hawk had no chance of getting to him. I was just kind of shocked that the stupid thing was being so aggressive. I know if I had not been out there it definitely would have dove and tried to get him.....Actually come to think of it, I didn't get scared, I got MAD. I stood straight up and dared the thing to come any closer. I respect animals of all kinds and hawks are among some of the most beautiful birds ever but not when they threaten one of my own. It circled over my head the whole time I was outside with Wish. I eventually picked him up in my arms and brought him in the house....

I have heard reports that hawks both WILL and WILL NOT attack small dogs. Well, I have news, this one def would HAVE.

Xmas - I hope your back and neck are better !!! xo

Bradmac and Seawaters - Praying that you are both feeling better xo

Went to Hobby Lobby yesterday !!!! They are really getting there as far as Christmas stuff !! No trees yet though........xo Soon though I think !!

Take care everyone and SPECIAL ((((HUGS)))) For:

Ella, Harlowe, Snowball, Gomez, Ophelia, Sidney, Alex, Merlin, Snickers, Victor, Daisy, Diva, Palmer, Mouse, Bo, Chico, Meca, Alvin, Missy, Scooby, Sasha, Jacob, Cracker, Bunny B, Penny, Pocket, LuLu, Bear-Bear, Stripey, Holly and all furkids everywhere xoxoo

That is very scary, CM3! So glad you were out there w/ them, especially for little Wish. Be safe. xo

Some friends of ours from WI lost their Pomeranian to an owl a few years back :(

And when I was on the way to work this morning, I saw a coyote on the side of the road. I hear a lot of dogs are disappearing in the communities across the highway from us..and folks are reporting seeing coyotes in their neighborhoods. Very sad.

It's that time of year! Starting to select and assemble clips for this year's Christmas DVD! Still thinking about outdoor decorations, too. We don't have a ladder to decorate the roofline (and frankly, I wouldn't want either of us to go up a ladder to try), so I'm trying to think of other solutions. As I mentioned, maybe a pair of outdoor pre-lit trees in front of the house. I've also been wondering how icicle lights might look draped over the top of a hedge instead of hanging from the eaves ... do you think they'd sparkle through in case snow fell over them? Any other outdoor decorating ideas that don't require a ladder, for someone who isn't very handy with tools and hardware?

I still think they'd be pretty on hedges! But xmastidings has a good idea @ hiring someone to help as well. Meceka, too- with the suggestion about the trees- very classy. You can also buy some cute pieces @ Lowes & Home Depot that you could just plug in by the front door or walkway- I saw an old carriage lamp post w/ pine boughs & a bow around it- simple & elegant! Do you have a lit up walkway? I see a lot of cute shades to put over your lighting that make them Christmassy. Good luck, let us know what you decide on =]

I am not feeling well tonight. So I am going to say good night a little early.

Good night everyone.

Sorry to hear about your Mother-in-laws Mom. Thinking of you & your family.

And I hope you're feeling much better today, xmas!

Ballcoach coming to your from the hotel....I just indulged myself and ordered a little room service. Nothing too fancy, but just a little snack to enjoy myself (shhh...don't tell my wife). Unfortunately, is was awful, but hey....it was nice to feel "big time".

Watching the Olympics....really getting excited! This has been a fun day. Won't get to watch much tomorrow or Tuesday, but I will get to see what happens Wednesday night.

Glad you're enjoying yourself, ballcoach!
And congrats on the weight loss!!

About to keep reading the board, but lay in bed. Yall have a good night.

Hey Jennifer! Hope you had a nice weekend!

Hey Seawaters =] Thinking of you!
^^^Love all of these, so pretty, almost hard to pick a favorite!!^^^

Good afternoon everyone!

It's Monday. Another work week is upon us. This work week, however, marks the last couple days of July and the ushering in of August! Didn't July just begin?! In Ontario, we have a three day weekend coming up, so it will be a nice four day work week next week. I am very much looking forward to that!

This past weekend was a lot of fun. We had a tournament here in Ottawa, so it was real nice to play and sleep in my own bed at night. Also, better yet, we won the tournament! There were 18 teams in our division. We were seeded second, but we managed to beat the first seeded team twice (once Saturday and once in the finals on Sunday). The only unfortunate part is that I really wasn't able to play as much as I should have. I have patellar tendonitis and can't seem to get rid of it. I played a bit on Saturday, but I decided to rest my knee on Sunday. We have a tournament in Maryland (Poolesville) next weekend and I am hoping that I will be OK for it. In reality, the injury has been off and on all summer, so we'll see if four days of ice and rest will allow me to play on the weekend. I don't want to make the 9 hour drive for nothing!

Not much else is happening. I'll go through a few posts on here during lunch. I forgot to make a lunch last night, so I tihnk I have to purchase something. Drats. Have a great Monday, everyone!

Hi Brent, thinking of you. Hope your knee heals quickly, and you can play more next weekend. Enjoy the long weekend, btw!! Take care.

:sparkle:

Monday hello! Been flat-out busy at the office all day until a few minutes ago, so I'm trying to sneak in a visit with my favorite folks.

WOW ... dingdingdingding ... I'm looking forward to clicking these links and checking them out. Thanks for posting these! :hello:

Funny about the walkway lights suggestion ... Mr. was wondering about getting some of those and whether there was any way of dressing them up for the holidays. (The solar-charged kind.) I told him I didn't think they made anything like that, but I guess they do! Could you post a link to some of the shades they make for Christmastime?

I'm still leaning toward plug-ins that I can put near the door or the front of the house, like you mentioned. I still like the idea of pre-lit outdoor Christmas trees. Must do some measuring and decide where they should go and how big they should be. If I come up with something that looks nice, I'll post photos. But I'm sure it'll be nothing compared with the all-out decorations some of you folks do!

Good Monday afternoon, my Christmas friends!

Feeling better every day! I do miss salt, though. And Diet Pepsi! And fried chicken! And steaks, and sausage, and...and...and...

It doesn't matter. This just means I'll get to have more time with my family!

You guys have been great, as have so many people from my family and the entire county. I never knew I was so well known...LOL!

I'm going back to the couch. I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy

And haven't we almost hit...20,000 posts?!?

I forgot to answer you, Made: We go back August 14.

Thanks!! I know you guys use the same balanced schedule that we are going too, so I wondered if you went back as early as the schools here.

Watching the Olympics, these athletes are amazing! They are showing the gymnastics right now.

I'm sitting here wondering how many medals the USA would have if we got credit for everyone that lived and trained here.

Great to see you Brad!!!! Eventually you should be able to eat most things IN MODERATION, for now you listen to the docs & Nancy & stick with your strict diet & GET BETTER!!!! :) No food is worth missing out on time with your family!!! You go boy...you can do this!!!

Hello to all my Christmas addicted friends!!!! ;)

Feeling better every day!

That's great to hear!!!!

Like Holiday said, You should be able to eat most things in moderation once you get back to where you should be. Heck I know 2 vegetarians that have had heart attacks and one of my great uncles that was a health nut had to have triple bypass. So it's not always just about what you eat, sometimes it's just in your gene's.

I wanted to be 2ok poster!!!! hehe last year I think I hit the 10k Oh well congrats Holiday!!! I decided to sit back and have a few glasses of wine....I think I am about to fall out! Have a great afternoon everyone! its' good to hear from you guys!!

20,000 posts in July? We didn't hit that until 9/21 last year.

Have a Great Night Dawg!!!!!

I'm not sure if this is a good idea or not for you, but one idea to look at (if you can) is to hire a handyman to put your christmas lights up at the roof line. There are alot of handy, reliable contractors (1 or 2 men) that are looking for work around that time of year. I have been reading about that it is one of the latest trends that contractors are doing in the cold winter months when there is not much outdoor construction going on. (just an fyi/ idea for you)

I know someone who likes doing that: http://www.mymerrychristmas.com/forum/blog.php?b=321

That's Good!!! When I was a commercial sales manager with Autozone one of the other managers forgot to lock the door and set the alarm when he went home one night. I got a call from the security company at 2am telling me I had to go check the store because the alarm wasn't on and no one else would answer. I was shocked when I got there and realized what he had done. Then I was surprised that the store wasn't cleaned out. Needless to say he didn't last long as a shift manager.

I remember those middle of the calls from the security companies, I worked for a video store I was the closest person to the store so I was called first. Even after I quit I got those phone calls telling me there was a problem. I hated those calls.

Think about what you can have instead of what you can't have, less depressing!
Have a great day!
