Good Morning, friends~

My poor little Harlowe is still not eating, hubby managed to get her to take a few bites of roast beef, but that's it. Going to call vet today.

Snowflake, this makes me so sad. I will keep the little baby in my prayers and you also xo

Good morning,

I got my cuckoo clock, 75% off I just paid over $7 for it, it was originally $30, so I am psyched. I am in a lot of pain today, I have plantar fasciitis so my foot/heel always hurts, but last night bringing the garbage to the curb, I felt something in my heel "pop," my foot is swollen and it really hurts even when I am sitting down. I don't know if I will be heading to work yet, since I am on my feet all day long. I may take it off to rest my foot I don't know yet though. I will be sitting here for a couple hours.

Have a great day.

OUCH !!! I agree with everyone else - sounds like a doc should look at that foot !! I Hope it feels better xo

Good Morning Everyone! Hope everyone is in good spirits today!
Another week that is dragging on, January always seems to go so slow compared to how fast November and December fly by. Not much new for me other than I don't feel too great today, sore throat, voice is about gone and feel like I have a little bit of a minor cold, no big deal really, gives me an excuse to take a day to stay home and catch up on stuff some!

CJ I hope you feel better too. I HATE sore throats and colds ! You should relax and do something Christmassy for yourself !! xo

good afternoon gang...

i'm still missing christmas :-D so glad 2011 is over as it was an awful year for my family and i, and 2012 has been great so far (touch wood) but i'm missing my tree and all the christmas music and movies.

i usually don't watch christmas movies until 1st november ( i do always watch one or two in july though for christmas in july) but i think i'm going to start watching one whenever i feel like, seems stupid to deprive myself of something that brings me so much happiness?

hope everyone's 2012 has been good to them so far.

That's Right !! Watch Christmas movies whenver you want !! After all, Christmas is supposed to be 365 days a year !! xo

I watched A Muppet Christmas Carol last night and this morning I am drinking coffee out of my Christmas mug while my table top tree is lit up. Ahh... Life is good!

It sounds like you are keeping Christmas with you and that is wonderful !!! I bet your little tree is pretty !! xoox

So I have a question for all of you Christmas lovers.

I asked my girlfriend last night if she was going to get tired of all of my Christmas talk. She says "as long as it doesn't go until the summer" and laughs. I'm like of course it is.

She responds as long as you keep it to yourself. I don't want you to ruin Christmas for me. What she meant was, she wants the "special" of the once a year part to remain. Then she says "make sure you don't ruin it for yourself, as I know how much you love it."

So finally the question.

I always keep Christmas with me all year. Everyone that knows me knows that I'm a Christmas fanatic. I generally keep it internal and not as active though. This is the first year I've been here and that I plan to keep it with me of every second of every day. Those of you that are vetarans, does the "special" leave, just a bit, because you are living it all year long and not just for 2 or so months out of the year? I think I know what the answer is but I'm just curios of your insight. :snowball:

I'm going to try to head to work, see how it responds.

See you all later!

Good morning, Christmas family !!

I am still so tired. I don't know what it is but even when I sleep I wake up exhausted. I guess I must not be resting. I may have to lay down on the couch here for a while..

Seawaters - Praying for you now even as I type.

Snowflake - I know how worried you are about your baby xo (((Harlowe))) is in my prayers 24/7 as all my Christmas family are.

I had a long talk with God last night and I mentioned every single one of you and told Him how much you all mean to me and asked Him to help you xo

My copy of the Time-Life Book of Christmas will be here soon I hope!! My tree is still up but I guess I am going to have to take it down and let it rest for another year. I just hate to let it go. I am terrible at goodbyes :-?

Take care, Christmas family.

Oh I nearly forgot.........Looks like Carl may have been watching too many super hero movies !!

ATTENTION MMC Friends!!!

Regarding Bradmac's promises of being mayor... You had to read back a page or 2!

We teased about politicians do not keep their promises!

These 3 promises I listed are MEANT to be broken! I should have quoted him so my post was not misunderstood.

Bradmac listed one to break as well.

What I posted:

A few more campaign promises from Mayor Bradmac:

1). I will not visit MMC on a daily basis
2). I will not keep Christmas in my heart year round.
3). I will not put my Christmas tree up in 2012

I think you all agree now?

OH YES I AGREE!!! Oh Mr. Mayor, may I 2nd this!!! Tee Hee!!!

Well, last night I watched Cancel Christmas, I DVR'd it from Hallmark it was too sweet!!!!

All this talk of Pennsylvania and New York is taking me back to our trip in October. We traveled through Pennsylvania to get there.

Big thanks to Lauriebear for giving us tips on how to get to the 911 Memorial!!! We would have been SO LOST without her help! New York is confusing!! Ha ha! Central Park was nice too and getting to go to John Lennon's Memorial as well.

I still need to get those pictures posted on here!

*******blush******* Your soooo welcome CAH!!! I do so love NYC everytime we go exploring there we find something new!!! I know big cities can sometimes get bad raps and it isn't for everyone, not like I would want to live there, but I love visiting and being able to work there.

I'll be praying for her too.

Thanks, Made. I appreciate it!
And special thanks to all of you who are praying for her!!

Hi iliam, I had that same thought go through my mind when I joined. Speaking for myself, it didn't. In fact, it got me more excited with all of the counting down we do & learning of other's traditions, etc. I especially loved when Christmas decorations started being put out in the stores- the Christmas Blossom's thread, seeing Christmas commercials, hearing everyone here talk about that stuff & really realizing I wasn't the only one who got that stoked!! Because no one else in my life really gets it like that.

I used to work for my friend's floral & gift shop, and we would decorate & put up trees there @ 3 months before Christmas. Everyone else would complain about being sick of holiday stuff because we put it out so early, and I would be the one who was sad to take it down in January!
I get how some things wouldn't be as special if you did them all the time, instead of only special times throughout the year. I think it's really just finding a balance for yourself :)

:rudolph:

.....Definitely support the Fired Twinkies! I saw an ominous news story this morning ...
I heard that on one of the TV news programs a day or two ago.
But Carl says not to worry. His signature Fired Twinkies are made on site via Carl's own secret recipie.

Sad though - about Hostess.

iliam, the spirit of Christmas is still strong for me even though I joined over 2 years ago. The build up to Christmas is much more stronger because we are all in this together here on MMC.

The after Christmas blues are not quite as bad for me as they use to be since joining here. It's our little support group that keeps me going!

Give it a year and you will see! cheesy

Coach,
that is great on the grant for your school!!!!

Snowflake, I hope Harlowe gets 100% better! It is so hard when our furry friends are ill. =(

CJ, get well soon!

CM3, Carl looking like a real hero! I think he is ready for Halloween. =)

Lauriebear, New York was a trip for me! It was chaotic, confusing and fun all at the same time! I enjoyed it very much and would like to see more of it sometime in the future.

I usually do very well mapping out vacations of what to do, how to get there and more but I really think we could have been lost without your help! Thanks again!

Iliam this is a great post, one that I'm sure most of us can in some way relate to. Outside of this site, I don't personally know anyone who loves and embraces Christmas the way I do. Most would call me a nutcase but that's ok. I wouldn't lose this feeling for anyone or anything. I respect the feelings of others but that doesn't stop me from enjoying, loving, and looking forward to Christmas it every day of the year. It's a feeling, a state of mind, not just a season. Thanks for sharing.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas Season! Im down about Christmas being over and I know I havent been around much. I just posted a thread about what has been going on the past few months. I need to have another surgery (hysterectomy) in a few weeks and Im really down about it. I hope to be posting on more of a regular basis again, I have missed you all!

Hello Iliam !

Speaking for myself, no, the special feeling does not leave because I live it all year long. Christmas feels more special to me I think because I live it all year !! I just got an App for my Ipod that is just WONDERFUL !!! It is called Zen of Snow.....It is a cabin with candles in the window and there are carols playing. It comes with adjustable snowfall and wind and you can set it to day or night. The candles flicker and look really real and there is smoke coming from the chimney - It is a truly beautiful app and I plan on playing it several times this year because it makes the Christmas "feeling" more alive than ever for me !!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas Season! Im down about Christmas being over and I know I havent been around much. I just posted a thread about what has been going on the past few months. ((((Ms. Christmas)))) ....Don't be sad xo You are still a wonderful, beautiful and very special part of our Christmas family - we are here for you whenever you need us xo

Yeah, we were just kidding around about politicians breaking promises. I actually don't consider myself a politician, since it's not what I do for a living. I started kidding around about getting the position, then I realized you all might be getting tired of reading me talking about it...

I had my first council meeting last night as mayor. It went pretty good, but it was hectic. The new clerk was there, and the old clerk was there showing her the ropes. The previous mayor came and sat in the audience chairs. I felt a little like I was in his seat! I think it'll be fine, I just gotta get used to the chair at the head of the table. And I promise this is the last time I bring up being mayor...LOL!
Then we stared joking around about it...
Since when do politicians keep their promise????

JUST KIDDING! I am not here to start a political debate! =)

You can talk about being mayor with us. Most of us talk about our jobs on here so you can talk about yours!!!! So keep bringing it up if you like!
I thought the bolded part was funny, so I tried it out...
I promise that I don't care a thing about Christmas!

Hey, you're right!
...and CAH continued the joke I started...
A few more campaign promises from Mayor Bradmac:

1). I will not visit MMC on a daily basis
2). I will not keep Christmas in my heart year round.
3). I will not put my Christmas tree up in 2012

I hope no one misunderstood. CAH and I were just joking about politicians in general breaking promises, and there was nothing personal against me. CAH and I are too good of friends for anything like that to happen. It's pretty funny to me!

I'm so sorry to hear about your need for surgery. I hope you recover quickly.

MsChristmas, I pray for a speedy recovery after surgery!

MerryCarey and Crown,
tragic news on the Twinkies but I am glad Carl has us covered on his own recipe! =)

I need to have another surgery (hysterectomy) in a few weeks and Im really down about it. I hope to be posting on more of a regular basis again, I have missed you all!
I had one back in 2004, never felt better! Feel free to PM me if you would like to talk.

Get into the online group called hyster sisters, they helped me with lots of great info and others to talk to on their forums...

http://www.hystersisters.com/

Will pray for a speedy recovery.
