Christmas Countdown - 2012

Well, I went to the Dr. they are not sure what is wrong, my foot is wrapped in an Ace bandage. I have to go get x-rays tomorrow, they gave me a prescription for 800mg ibuprofen, and crutches, which I have to get tomorrow since the med supply place was already closed tonight. She did say it could possibly a raging case of tendinitis, or possibly a tear, but she never heard of that tendon tearing before. I am definitely out of work tomorrow, possibly longer at this point, I don't know. I guess this is my usual January out of work time for sick or injured reasons, seems it always happens after Christmas to me. :-?

I was supposed to sub today, but they cancelled the job last minute, and I had turned down other jobs because I thought for sure the job I had wouldnt be cancelled. I really wish schools wouldnt cancel last minute because now I'm not working at all today. I guess I will just read some and relax.

Oooo. I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but the same thing happened to me. It was my Achilles tendon in addition to some other tendons. After surgery, I was in a cast about two plus months. HOWEVER, after you get into a walking cast, you are good to go!!!

My daughter snapped the tendon on her ankle once, we were out walking and it sounded like a branch snapped, it was loud and she was in so much pain.
But part of it was also torn (did you check this persons medical certificate who told you they never heard of this before?) Anyway, she had to wear one of those boots for 6 weeks and was in physio for a time too. Now she has a weak ankle and had to be careful. She does regular exercise to help with strengthening it.
 
NEVER!!! I listen to Christmas music every single day. At school, I put the computer on and listen to it. Some other teachers come into my classroom if they need a Christmas fix. My students no longer question me when they hear the music!!! The longest I ever kept up a tree (artificial) was until March. But other than that, I just do the music all year and sometimes watch Christmas movies whenever I want.

I always keep Christmas with me all year. Everyone that knows me knows that I'm a Christmas fanatic. I generally keep it internal and not as active though. This is the first year I've been here and that I plan to keep it with me of every second of every day. Those of you that are vetarans, does the "special" leave, just a bit, because you are living it all year long and not just for 2 or so months out of the year? I think I know what the answer is but I'm just curios of your insight. :snowball:

There will be no more hand jive or charades for me at the Pines tonight. Bad choice on my part, trust me!!! A report will be forthcoming after Hubby and I get back from dinner and a meeting!!!
 
No dancing for Xmas366 tonight at the Pines! You better elevate that foot and heal quickly so you can dance at the Pines real soon! Take care!

I hope that is not what happened to me, I cannot afford to be out of work that long.

We have a winter storm moving in tonight, 1-3inches snow and ice, which stinks since I have to go to downtown Springfield, MA for my x-rays which isn't fun on a sunny day. My heel is throbbing tonight, it is hurting big time. I will be going to bed soon, sooooo...

Have a great night sleep! I hope your foot starts to hurt less! Be careful driving in the am. I will pray for not only safe travels, but healing as well
