Just found this and since his album was stuck in the player all season I thought maybe a few of you would like it too.

Hi everyone, just checking in real quick to say hi. I'm going to get caught up now on the countdown. Looking foward to having the night off, getting caught up on here, and spending time with my family.

Hope you're all having a great night! :rudolph:

Be careful in it and stay in as much as you can. Look at the bright side, it'll look like Christmas. And ps.-So glad to hear that your mom got good news. I'll keep thinking of her until you hear a final word.

And lastly I want to thank everyone for their advice on keeping the Christmas spirit all year long. I do most of my reading on my phone and there is no way to do multi quotes so I lose track of what I've read and the specifics of what people have written. Rest assure that I did read them all and take them to heart. I even bought the Zen of Snow app I think Shellie told me about? I think I'm going to take bits and pieces of advice from all, save certain movies just for the season and watch others all year long. Listen to the music when it strikes my fancy. Keep certain knick knacks around just for me, and celebrate it always. I know I won't lose any of the magic, can you imagine what if that special feeling everyone shares during the "season" was shared all year long? It'd be a different world!

I'll be staying on these forums celebrating with you all year long. I'll bring my girlfriend in on the fun respectfully when I think she'd enjoy it. Most importantly I'm keeping the spirit with me every second of every day!:sparkle:

Thanks for keeping my mom in your thoughts! I am excited to get a little bit of snow, especially since we had none for Christmas. If only I had my Christmas tree up, then it would feel just right. I will also be celebrating all year round and I love the fact that everyone shares so much, too. It is nice to see other Christmas related things that others are interested in. Glad you're a part of the forum!

Glad to hear that.

Thank you!

Be careful and stay safe!

Thanks! I just made a Walmart run for some important groceries in case we'd be stuck in for a few days.

Good afternoon,

I am back from my running around, the x-ray showed I have bone spurs in my heel, but now I have an appointment with a podiatrist tomorrow to make sure there isn't a tendon issue and see what else is wrong. I picked up my crutches also, wow it is a lot of work to move with them, my arms are exhausted. I ran to work to drop off my dr note, you walk in with crutches, you are the most popular person there, everyone around was asking me what was wrong. Of course my best friends there I couldn't talk to because they were too busy, oh well. I will see them soon enough. So off from work again tomorrow, and back down to downtown Springfield again. I did get some Sweetarts on the ride home, they are scrumptious.

Enjoy the day!

I am praying for you that you will be relieved of any pain! I hope that you're off of those crutches quickly. But I did laugh visualizing you walking into work and distracting everyone. It's true - you're injured and everyone swarms to you! Sweetarts are the best!

Stay safe!

Thank you! Hopefully we don't get too much snow.

Sitting here watching the snow fall has me in the mood to put up my Christmas tree!!!! To bad it's still January.

I wish I was watching snow fall! You could put it up and we wouldn't judge you - heck, I'd be tempted to join you! I wish that people kept them up until the winter was over.

If you want to watch it snow check out this link

http://www.holidayworld.com/visit/webcams-weather

You can also see them working on the new water coaster at Holiday World in Santa Claus, Indiana.

This is great. I was just saying I was jealous that you got to see the snow fall. Now I'll have to click and stare for a while until I get some snow of my own!

So glad to hear!

Thank you!

I have my 2 year old granddaughter here and I have been building her a playhouse out of a bunch of old cardboard boxes. She just think that's the coolest thing and it didn't cost a dime to make!

Aw! The most inexpensive things are the things that kids enjoy the most. I remember being a toddler and sitting under the kitchen table. I made a clubhouse and I thought that was way more fun than any of my toys. I think kids love the simple stuff because they are so creative and imaginative.

Just stopping in to say hello, this day is dragging for me and I've just hit my afternoon slump, it's almost over though. I hope yours is too!

I hope you get out of that slump! Just keep thinking - Friday is almost here! Friday makes everything better. Hope you have a good evening!

I'll be away with my mom's knee surgery tomorrow. I'll try to check in tomorrow night. Have a great evening, everyone! cheesy

I will be praying for your mom that the surgery goes well and that she recovers quickly. Let us know how it goes!

Thanks for the good news! I hope the next appointment is good news too.

Me too! Thank you for keeping her in your thoughts!

That sounds like the perfect kind of night! Hope you enjoy it!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thanks everyone for the prayers and thoughts for my mom. She had her appointment this afternoon. They said they don't believe that it is bladder cancer but they do not know for sure. She has to go for a bunch of tests now for both that and because of the throat thing. Hopefully since she got good news for the throat, she gets good news for this too.
I have been so busy all day long. I had class this morning, then I came home and typed up two papers, and then went to grab groceries in case we get this snow. I'm exhausted! I planned on staying up later tonight, unwinding, and watching some TV shows but I am too tired.
I did notice in the stores that they don't make Necco Valentine's Day candy hearts in the classic flavors. I'm so disappointed! I love to munch on those from now to Valentine's Day. Apparently they make sour flavors and I just don't like that kind of stuff!
Going to eat some wings - enjoy your evening, all!
We have a winter storm moving in tonight, 1-3inches snow and ice, which stinks since I have to go to downtown Springfield, MA for my x-rays which isn't fun on a sunny day. My heel is throbbing tonight, it is hurting big time.
Hope you starting to feel better today. Have safe travels in this weather!
I'll be away with my mom's knee surgery tomorrow. I'll try to check in tomorrow night. Have a great evening, everyone! cheesy
Good luck, hope everything goes well. I'm feeling the January blues a bit, but we have an appointment with the mortage people about our new house, so hopefully some good news is round the corner.
Hope you have a nice evening, and work goes well tonight.... and an excellent & much deserved day off!!! Hugs to you, friend.
It was actually a really busy night last night, but I guess it could have been a lot worse. So far, I have had an excellent day. Thanks! Hope you have a great evening, too! Xoxo
Thank you again for all of the prayers. Harlowe is at the vet now having more tests run. They think it could be Addison's Disease.
I got some really good news today, my latest biopsy came back "negative" for melanoma.
Keeping Harlowe in my prayers. Hope you find something out soon.
Thank goodness for the great news. Our prayers have been answered! I am so glad to hear this! This is wonderful, friend! :)
Update: I am SO SORE!!! After the biopsies (which took a little longer than expected), I had to have another mammogram!!! Talk about pain!!! Then I started bleeding again. So they hurried and took me back into the "surgery" room to stop the bleeding with, can you guess??? Super glue!!! You cannot imagine how much THAT hurts when it starts to dry and crackle!!! I will be sore for a few days and I should know something by Friday. My doctor is so good about that!!! I do have to tell you that I have had SUCH PEACE about everything, except the pain, of course!!! And I won't do the hand jive or charades for a long time!!! From the bottom of my heart: Thank you all for your prayers and kind thoughts!!!
Sorry you had to be in so much pain. I am glad you were able to be at peace otherwise. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers, SW. Keep us updated. We're here for you.
Good morning all! I did not sleep as good last night,so I decided to just go ahead and get up before I overslept. I am finally catching up on missed sleep from last week I guess. It is cool and 44F outside and clear,when I let the dog out just now I noticed how clear it was. My mom and older sister are flying in town today around 430. I am looking forward to seeing them although I know I will really be missing my dad...I talk to him almost every day,I just know he wishes he was up to come down and visit. I just have to look foward to next year when he can come,otherwise I get depressed just thinking about it. I hope everyone has a good thursday!!
Enjoy your visit with your mom and your sister.
That is what you have to keep thinking about with your dad. He needs the time to rest and get better. Next year at Christmas, you guys will all be together again!
Nancy brought home the paper yesterday. Our area is so small, the local paper only comes out once a week! I was on the front page being sworn in, and there was another article further in with pictures of me giving a plaque and key to the city to the former mayor. More celebrity!
How exciting! Did you cut it out and hang it on your refrigerator, too? I mean, you have to do that!
My mom called the doctor first thing this morning and she has an appointment to get the lump on her throat looked at in an hour and a half. So please, keep her in your thoughts in prayers for that. Then she has her other appointment a couple of hours later, but they won't know anything for that then.
Continuing to keep your mom in my prayers. Hoping she finds something out soon.
Ugh. I bought a bag of those Sweetarts Hearts and I can't stay out of them! My mouth is raw from eating so much candy!
I did the same thing when Sweetarts came out with Ducks & Bunnies for Easter and Christmas Bells at Christmas. Help me!!
Sweetarts are pretty much my favorite candy EVER! I always buy tons of bags of the hearts and of Chicks, Ducks, and Bunnies every year! I'm surprised my teeth haven't fallen out, or at the very least that I'd have tons of cavities by now! DF doesn't understand how I can eat them all...but dang, they are just so good and addicting!!! I need to go get myself some right about now! We missed the candy aisle when we went grocery shopping yesterday. =(
I went to work and lasted just over 2 hours, my foot is in too much pain. I have a Dr appt. at 5:30 tonight to see what is the issue.
I truly hope it is nothing too serious and you get to feeling 100% soon!!
YAY!!! Thank you for the update VSC!!! How awesome you won some prizes!!!! How cool, hope you win a few more too!!! Keep the details coming - can you post your link of your wedding website again???
The G-Men have a tough battle ahead of them... Either Snowflake will be Happy come Sunday Night or We G-Man fans will be Happy!!!! But, knowing that Snowflake Loves the Pack so much it may not hurt so much if they win.... Who am I kidding it will.... But I have FAITH!!!! GOOOOOOOOO GIANTS!!!!!!
Awww, thanks for being so excited, Lauriebear! I could go on and on all day about it but I'm sure no one wants THAT! lol I'm hoping we win some more...we're not sure how long the vendors are taking to choose their winners but I'm holding out hope!
Our wedding website is http://debbietravis.ourwedding.com! I hope you like! =)
GIANTS BABY!!!!! Gotta keep the faith!!! (Although I hope the G-men receivers start hanging onto the football...that's killed them so much this year!!)
So much for a good day. My mom found a hard lump on her throat. And another doctor appointment she has to make.
I'll be sending good thoughts your way! I hope it's nothing too serious!
As I am sure you will miss your job, in the end, like you said, it will probably be better for you. Good luck with all of that.
Congrats! That will save you sooo much money!
It kinda hit me today when I was driving my friend to Hallmark (she works at Kohl's as well) how much I missed it. It's only been a week for pete's sake! And thank you, we're really excited about meeting with the photographer next week!
Being here enhances Christmas for me, because I can talk about it and share it year-round (here on the Countdown, nearly every day!). I generally reserve certain music, movies, and books for the Christmas season alone (for me, it begins about Nov. 1st), although I start enjoying some of my seasonal stuff in September and October, and we start planning our DVD of Christmas clips around August. So I have it both ways: Christmas year-round here, plus special things that I save for when it's Christmastime on the calendar.
I couldn't have said my personal philosophy any better! Working at Hallmark, it was easier to think about Christmas earlier than usual (for me, it starts around a week before Halloween), but I guess that'll be different this year. The only Christmas movie I watch outside of the Christmas season is Christmas Vacation, because that movie can pull me out of any bad mood any day of the year!!
Thank you again for all of the prayers. Harlowe is at the vet now having more tests run. They think it could be Addison's Disease. At this point, I would welcome a diagnosis. Then we could make her better. I can't wait to get her back home later tonight. She will be prescribed some medicine to stimulate her appetite, so we can finally get her eating again, hopefully by tomorrow.
I got some really good news today, my latest biopsy came back "negative" for melanoma. Thank God for that. And thank you for all of your thoughts & prayers, they were such a big help! And such a comfort to me. xo
I'm glad to hear your tests are negative, and I will be thinking of Harlowe. Keep us posted!
From the bottom of my heart: Thank you all for your prayers and kind thoughts!!!
I'll be thinking of you!!! I'm so sorry you have to go through all of this. :(
My mom got great news!!! The lump is either a benign cyst (which he said 90% are) or thyroid cancer. If it is simply the cyst, it can be drained. If it is thyroid cancer, it is 100% curable.
One appointment down, one to go....
So happy to hear! Hope the second appointment brings even better news!
Good afternoon,
I am back from my running around, the x-ray showed I have bone spurs in my heel, but now I have an appointment with a podiatrist tomorrow to make sure there isn't a tendon issue and see what else is wrong. I'll be hoping for good news for you!!! And man, with all the Sweetarts madness going around here...I think I'll definitely be purchasing some within the next 24 hours!!!
I love hearing about everyone's pet. I may not talk about mine a lot but I have a houseful and they are the delight of my day. You should hear all the mushy baby talk that goes on ALL DAY long with them. They are all totally ROTTEN!
Here they are:
2 chihuahuas - Chico and Meca
2 cats - Charlie and Gary
1 Quaker Parrot - Bailey (after George Bailey from It's a Wonderful Life)
1 Russian Tortoise - Alvin, This tortoise has so much personality and will come running to me when he sees me. He is sooooooo cute!
1 Red Eared Slider Turtle - Timmy (he only likes my son and comes to him but runs from me. Ha ha!)
7 stray cats that have all been fixed and shots given. My neighbor and I take care of all of them.
CM3, I don't expect you to have to add all these names to your "shout out". :lol: I just wanted you all to know about my critters.
How cute!!! I know I don't really talk about mine all that much here either (except I think I did last year when we were having troubles with the dog and cat...). I have a calico cat named Sangria, a little over 4 years old, who is the absolute light of my life. When she purrs or meows, it makes me so so happy. DF has a German Shorthaired Pointer named Gunner, who just turned 7 on Christmas Eve. He is a ball of energy and with me being a cat person it is sometimes very difficult for me, but I love him regardless. Together, DF & I purchased a betta fish named Alpha (Alpha betta...get it? /greek humor) about two years ago. So far those are all the animals we have...although I would love to get another cat, lol.
I did notice in the stores that they don't make Necco Valentine's Day candy hearts in the classic flavors. I'm so disappointed! I love to munch on those from now to Valentine's Day. Apparently they make sour flavors and I just don't like that kind of stuff!
I had to scrounge around last year to even find Necco conversation hearts...I finally found them about 2 days before Valentine's Day in Target. I haven't seen ANY this year...only the Brachs ones (which I hate...they taste way weird to me) and Sweetart hearts. Hopefully I can find some somewhere, I hope they haven't discontinued them for some reason! *sob*
I am about to gag just thinking of the taste of the Brachs ones! They don't taste right at ALL. They seriously taste like they have been sitting around and rotting for years lol! I was in Walmart and that was all they had, unfortunately. They had one package of Necco conversation ones, but all in sour flavors. Maybe I'll have to try Target!
I'm back to work after being sick again yesterday. I spent most of yesterday sleeping, but I seem to be doing much better today. I hope everyone is having a better start to their year than I am. At least the rest of the year will look good by comparison!
Sorry to hear you're feeling under the weather again. Hope you're starting feel better today.
Good evening, friends~
I'm heading to The Pines, now!! Sounds like the party is in full swing!
BooHoo, I missed it!
Save me some food & drinks, and I'll need some of that strong coffee blend of Carl's for the trip back home!
Thank you again for all of the prayers. Harlowe is at the vet now having more tests run. They think it could be Addison's Disease. At this point, I would welcome a diagnosis. Waiting and worrying is difficult isn't it. I'm so glad O'Malley is healthy. A bit larger than the Vet wants him to be, but he can still bolt around the place when he gets in one of his moods. Hope you get some helpful and hopeful news soon.
I got some really good news today, my latest biopsy came back "negative" for melanoma. Thank God for that. And thank you for all of your thoughts & prayers, they were such a big help! And such a comfort to me. xo
Awesome news!
I had a mammogram once, that ain't no fun - no way - no how. Thankfully as it turned out I had "popped two ribs" and one was near the breastbone so the pain I was enduring and what I thought was a lump was only a nasty pulge from a self-inflicted work out mishap. I was relieved to laugh about it once it was all found out. I do recall trying to be optimistic, but then caught myself rehearsing in my mind how I would tell my husband if I wound up not having good news. In the end, I laughed at myself.
I never had super glue, but 24 stables wasn't much fun, especially when they had to take them out. Still hoping for some good news on your end!
Looks like I missed one heck of a party at the Pines!!! Just another reason I want to get on first shift at work.
I missed it too. I was all set to be there, but something came up.
Hello everyone. We continue to have a very odd winter. It's been too warm all week but the forecast is for us to get 3 inches of snow tonight and a high temp of 26 tomorrow. I wish we would get a foot of snow.
We are praying for all our MMC family. There seems to be so many health issues.
Have a blessed day.
We're experiencing what many people call WINTER, it's been howlin' like crazy. Crazy temps all over the place. As soon as we appreciate the milder temps it goes and turns so chilly. I was hoping the snow would be gone by mid-March, but at this rate, I don't think I'll get my wish.
Okay Made and Coach, dancing on the table is one thing but what the heck where you thinking when you did this???? =)
Good one!
The local paper won't show much unless you subscribe, so I captured a few images:
Announcement last week
Swearing-in
Giving the Key to the City to the former mayor
All the guys in the plant here congratulated (and teased) me this morning, and I've gotten many phone calls and pats on the back around town. I know I've kidded around about it here, but all the attention I've gotten here at home recently is starting to make me a little nervous! :lol:
Congratulations again! You might want to check your back in the mirror now and then just in case the folks patting you on the back are sticking a sign on it at the same time - you never know.
I worked at WDW... I was Dale in the duo Chip & Dale!!! What a great summer job that was!!!
You know, when I read things quick I add more letters, I saw Chip & Dales and had to re-read that one. HaHa
Yeah, same here on the weather... Today a high of 55 degrees and pouring rain!!!!
We had rain before Christmas, but it's turned fluffy again.
Good afternoon,
I am back from my running around, the x-ray showed I have bone spurs in my heel, but now I have an appointment with a podiatrist tomorrow to make sure there isn't a tendon issue and see what else is wrong. OUCHY Wah-wah! I remember one Christmas asking my mom for crutches or a baby sister and she said she'd see if Santa could bring me crutches, but he wouldn't be able to deliver any babies. I wound up needing crutches two years later and a friend down the street had to show me how to use them properly because I was taking way too long to get from "A to B".
