:wiggy: So there I was minding my own business at work yesterday, when I noticed a poster on a co-worker's desk. I asked about it and as it turned out her son was starring in a local musical production at his High School in Footloose the Musical. I joined her for that instead. She's twelve years younger than I am. I had as much fun watching the pride on her face watching her son perform (as Chuck) as I did watching the overall performance. After the applause and the cast exited the stage (left and right) and the audience was departing, she stood up and turned to the total strangers behind us and exclaimed, "wasn't that an awesome performance by my Chuck!!!" It wasn't really a question.
We have quite a bit of talent in my merry neck of the woods and I enjoy going to productions when it's not all adults. There are three different talent groups that I try and support provided the plays or musicals they are performing are of interest. It's so great to see their enthusiasm and feel their pride when the performance comes to an end.
As it turns out, I worked with two of the other cast members when they were younger and it was a good feeling to see them on stage, full of confidence and having a grand time. The director is an old childhood friend so it's always great to see her too. In fact, it was her family who originally owned my dog Ragmop when she was a pup. Somehow seeing her a couple of times a year helps me miss my dog less.
Well, my merry chums, I must close the laptop down so I can scan the Sears Spring and Summer catalogue that arrived today on what feels like the coldest day of the New Year.
:hi: Catch y'all over the weekend!
