Christmas Countdown - 2012

Good morning.
I have a busy week, and got this cold again!
But, I have to take one day at a time..

The biggest trial in Norway since World War 2 is starting right now..
(of a man accused of killing 77 people in a bomb and gun rampage in Norway last summer)
Im not going to sit and watch it, the next ten weeks.
I guess it will be enough to watch the News every night...

I have a doctor app. later. Have to have more allergy meds.

this is my last day before going back to work...yuck! i guess it's always hard to go back after time off though.
still recovering from this mess that's taken hold of my body. some people have said it takes about 2 weeks to get over. huh? man i hope not.
we had my son's b-day cake yesterday since my rents got back home from my sister's in the afternoon. we were gonna do it saturday but my brother & sil had something going on so we put it off till sunday afternoon & they didn't even make it then.

daughter spent the weekend w/ a friend. she & her friend went to the rodeo that was where she goes to cowboy church. they worked the rodeo so they got in free. her friend is driving now & it scares me to death. i'm not used to her riding in a car w/ another teen. riding w/ her brothers is different to me. she texted me about every time they went any where.

hubby told me this morning he's probably going to Canada next week. he found out when he got to work & called me.
tried to do alittle around here yesterday but that's about all i got accomplished.... alittle bit. i'm so tired & weak but i know it'll get better....just takes time!!

this is horrible. why is it that every time a tragedy unfolds in court they think we need a play by play of the whole thing? i can't stand it, they do that here all the time. then you have to worry about your kids seeing or hearing something that totally traumatizes them. mine are older now but....you said it right, you'll be able to hear all about it on the news & newspapers. i hope your allergy meds make all your symptoms go away, you've had this far too long!

Hope your little guy feels better. Don't feel bad. Those things happen - in a split second. As you said, especially the little ones, they explore and need to touch EVERYTHING. You're a great mom!

ahh, trips to ER with the screaming crying child, done a few of those over the years! Felt guilty about some, annoyed about one and scared for a couple. But all 3 of my kids survived! Life happens, nothing you can do about it. (unless you want to wrap them in bubble wrap! LOL)

As SIT said, they got the 1st place trophy! I was so thrilled for them! The trophy is pretty and we added it to the others Wayne has got in the past.

They really want me on their team next year, I don't know why??? They will lose if I am on it! Ha ha! Time for practice and see what happens!

When I went into the surgery room, one of the nurses asked me what kind of music I wanted. I said, “Christmas.” So they put on Pandora and played Christmas music for me. Of course, I was “asleep” for quite a bit of the surgery, but I awoke to Dean Martin playing in the background. I asked one of the nurses if he were bored listening to the music. He said he would have been prior to his marriage. But his wife LOVES all the holidays, and he said he now likes Christmas music and loves to celebrate all the other holidays, too

the girls went back to school today after 2 weeks off, the house has been so peaceful today haha!! Got to start getting ready for work soon, then after work pick up a few bits from the supermarket!

Chemo starts tomorrow, 4-16, 2012. I will be receiving Cyclophosphamide (Cytoxan) and Doxorubicin (Adriamycin) by chemo port and then the next day, I will receive Neulasta to help protect against infection. The side effects from the chemo are listed as moderate to severe, so I can expect pretty much total hair loss in addition to all the other side effects. I have to really get into a routine of drinking lots of water as I go through chemo. We have bought the Vitamix so I can make nutritional smoothies that will also help with some of the side effects, like mouth and throat sores and nausea. I am NOT looking forward to going through this, but I am looking forward to living.

On Wednesday, I went to the hospital to get the chemo port put it. Because of the lymph nodes removal and possible lymphedema, I cannot have anything done to my arms. So, to get an IV started, the nurse FIRST tried the top of my foot. No go. Then she tried the other foot. No go. Talk about pain!!! Then she tried the back of my hand. No go. Then she tried a prominent vein on my wrist. No go. Finally, I told her to do it in my left arm (only one lymph node removed) and call it good. It worked.

I love my hockey, this game is getting nasty, the refs better get control or someone is going to get injured. The Pens are playing like a minor league team, Fleury is letting too many rebounds out, and Philly is taking advantage of it. I hate Philly but JP loves them.

Actually I hate both teams, I don't like any team that comes out of PA. No offense to the fine people that live there, just being from Maryland, that's the way it is. I have nothing against PA itself, just the teams, LOL. I think Crosby is overrated and a prima donna. Just like Jaromir Jagr. Just my opinion, I know they have lots of fans and that's fine. My problem is I don't get to see enough hockey anymore.
