Brad - A very happy birthday to your dad... I know he is still with you xo
Good evening, Christmas family. Hermione had her last puppy kindergarten class today. I am so proud of the puppy she has become. She still has a couple of issues when shet gets really tired but she has come full circle and is such a wonderful, good girl. Her graduation photo is supposed to be available this Thursday on line. I don't know if it will be but if it is and if I can copy it, I will post it here...........Now. The reason I called my self an idiot or as one of my TV heroes, Monk, says, "Here's the thing": Training on May 1 with the new company was really draining, as training always is. It was really quite confusing. The platform they work off of had about a zillion things to remember. That was okay. I still typed some reports and they all went to QA which is usual for a "newbie". In fact, I expected that. The next day I got on early in the morning, still having some trouble learning the platform but doing better. On the 3rd they made me take training a second time. If it would have helped ot taught me something it would have been fine. As it was it only wasted an hour out of the time I was supposed to be typing. That was strike one, it made no sense to me. Once I had enough documents in QA I began to review them fully expecting there to be errors as I was so new. However, the errors were NOT medical errors. Everything that was marked incorrect was something petty. At least I consider it petty to mark something wrong because a comma is in the wrong place or a hyphen. I know it is very important to be grammatically correct but in the world of transcription, believe me, doctors ARE NOT grammatically correct. As long as the content is pretty much accurate such as patient name, medications, etc., then those are the really important things, NOT if there is perfect punctuation. Plus one of the things which was marked wrong was a doctor dicated "right nares". Nares is plural. Naris is the correct word when speaking of one I believe, yet even though I typed the grammatically correct word it was changed to a plural. Strike two.
Feeling very discouraged and upset and like I did not know what they wanted, I got on really early again on Friday. By 10 or 10:30 a.m. I was out of work. I notified my team leader and told her and she said shew was aware and that "Dr. So and So should be sending in work soon...." It never happened. I checked for two hours and NOTHING. Not one stitch of work and no offer to find me anything. Strike three. I do not get an hourly wage. I get paid PER LINE. I cannot afford to sit there with NO WORK ALL DAY.
So I called my old company and they said yes, they wanted me back. Now even though I abhore 1-9 it is stable work and the work does not run out. I need stability right now before I get behind on the bills. That is why I called myself an idiot - Because I went back to my former employer, assuming they don't change their minds. I did not know what else to do.......
So there you have it....Back to the beginning again......I think.....
Solice - I hope you are okay xo
