I don't know what it is about The Wizard of Oz that makes me feel Christmassy.....guess that it just takes me back to my childhood....why do I love this movie so?

up late tonight, I am going upstairs finally. Had to make a quick trip into London as my daughter sent the wrong textbook home and urgently needed this for class tomorrow. So, 2 hours later I am home again.

Meet me in St Louis with Judy Garland is just finishing up and she is singing "Have yourself a merry little Christmas"

Yep, but if you keep running at the top eventually you get the win....don't get me wrong, I want a win, too. I just am happy that he is being so competitive. Takes me back to 2004.....

Can still remember being a kid and watching it....sitting right beside Momma because I was so scared of the witch....I would run around and laugh....and when the witch would come back on I would get right by her...

We have started out at a balmy, and somewhat humid, 73 degrees here this morning.
Rain is clearly in the forecast owing to the leaden skies.
In fact, the weather service says we could be in for 3-4 straight days of precipitation.
(Oh, well. We were getting rather spoioled.)

Waaaay back when, it used to be televised (there's an outdated word!) around Christmas, I think, since it was such a special event. I don't go back that far, but I can remember when it was on TV only once a year. A big event in my childhood calendar, even though we had a B&W set!

You have no idea how much I have missed the Countdown!!! It's good to be back on here to watch the numbers get lower. =)

I have to let all my MMC friends know my good news, two years ago I took an engineering exam to specialize in Plumbing engineering and I missed passing it by two points. So, not to be disgruntled, I strived to learn as much as I could over the past two years. This year, when you could take the exam again, I started studying in Feburary, every day at lunch, every evening I would lock myself away in the computer room and study untill 11:00 (basically I put my life on hold). Well, I took the exam again in the middle of April, well I just found out that I passed. It is called the CPD "Certified in Plumbing Design"; here is the official blurb from the ASPE (American Society of Plumbing Engineers) organization.....

The CPD, which is the only international credential program in the plumbing engineering field, sets the standards for leadership within the industry and provides formal recognition of outstanding professionals with advanced skills in the design and specification of plumbing systems.

For me, being in the Mechanical Engineering field, This exam helps me to stand out, sort of specialize in one certain aspect of the Engineering field (that I love and have a passion for - plumbing and Fire Protection). I worked for, now going on 3 years to get this, and I finally got it..... YEA!!!!!!!

I have not been on here in about a week and hope all is well with everyone. It's been a very busy week and hopefully things will get back to normal this week.

Wayne (Snow-in-Texas) is feeling a lot better and back to work. Thanks for everyone's prayers and thoughts.

Pocono was the first NASCAR race I ever went to. It's even worse in person, you can't see a darn thing! I was sitting just a little past the start/finish line toward the first turn, and there was a wreck in turn 1 and with binoculars I couldn't tell who was in it. You watch them zoom by and wait about a minute to watch them zoom by again.

On another subject, Sheila and I were out in a clothing store today and they were playing Lena Horne's version of "Let It Snow"! Then right after that they played some pop junk. Here we were in a store in June and hearing Let It Snow, pretty cool!

So glad to hear you're back home & doing well, SIT!!

I think "Let It Snow" came on just for you guys :grin:

I am winding down now. I need to get ready for chemo tomorrow. New stuff. We will spend the night with friends so I can get the Neulasta shot on Tuesday morning (It has to be done within 24 hours of chemo), and then we are driving to Yreka for a meeting. Lots of rest in my future! Have a great rest-of-the-evening, everyone.

Good Morning MMC!!!! It's going to be a little bit cooler here today with a high of 84 degrees. The forecast had called for 2 inches of much needed rain but it is now down to just a quater of an inch later tonight. Nothing to exciting here today. I just have to babysit all day. Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

I'm now at my regular day job. I'll be here till 5pm, then I have to run out since Vacation Bible School starts this afternoon. I'm the official photographer (and have been for years), so I have to be there. We always do Powerpoint presentation on the last night using photos I've taken during the week. I have to find some music to go along with it.

Yesterday was our pastor's last Sunday with us. He's been at our church since our kids were born. It'll be weird without him, but the new pastor is a young fellow with lots of energy.

Bernie is at the coast with two of his sons, and he's been looking forward to the trip for weeks. It's raining, but I don't think it matters to him, as long as he gets to spend time with his boys.

our church does the same thing! Our VBS is not until the middle of August, but we take lots of pictures too, put it to the music the kids learned all week for the parents to watch, We also do a BBQ supper.

Our pastor of many years left about 3 months ago, still looking for a new one. We have an interim pastor who is great right now.
