It is funny how the vacations work out. We are going to St. Augustine, FL the second week in July. Aren't you coming up here next week? It will be hot here this weekend with highs in the mid 90's, breaking all our heat records. Should cool down a little next week.

Have fun. Lots of mountain communities are having July 4 celebrations with fireworks.

Love St. Augustine! I'm not of a beach person, but I really enjoy all the historic stuff.

Yes, we've going up to the mountains on Wednesday the 4th and coming home on Sunday. They have a fireworks display that is synchronized with music.

The extended forcast for Maggie Valley has it in the mid-80's by Wed...I hope!:grin:

They started messing with it LONG ago! The original Three Musketeers had three flavors of filling: chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry---that's why it was called Three Musketeers. Later it became chocolate only. (Just a little chocolate trivia!)

Good (almost) afternoon, MMC! How is everyone handling the heat?! I wish it would go away!

I finished up my work for school and my actual work, so I am just going to relax in the air conditioning and avoid going outside unless I have to. It isn't even noon and the temperature is already 89. The "real feel" is 98 degrees. I went outside to check if the mail was dropped off and I swear I could barely breathe because it is so suffocating. I was supposed to go fishing with the guy I am kind of seeing today, but I think I would rather just go to his house or have him come over here. I can't imagine standing around and fishing in this. I'd probably decide to join the fish and just jump in the water!



I hope everyone stays cool today. Drink lots of water and stay hydrated!!!

PS -- Who has a pool? I'm going to come swimming since I don't have one.

Good Morning MMC!!!!!! It's going to be a HOT one here in central Indy with another high over 100 degrees. It's already 92 degrees at 10:30 in the morning. I don't have much on the agenda for today. Most of the day will be spent playing with my nieces and waiting to hear from my sister. She should be in surgery right now. It was also kind of a depressing morning here. One of the neighbors across the street died. He was still alive when the paramedics and fireman got here but he didn't hold on long enough for them to get him out. Of course it took them awhile because he was well over 800lbs and they had to take the window out. There was 13 fire trucks, 2 ambulances, and 2 tactical response trucks. I think it was basically every piece of equipment from our township and the one north of here. Plus the maintenace staff from our apartments. I really felt sorry for the fireman. You could see the sweat just pouring off of them as they were running around getting equipment. Well enough depressing news. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is very sad. =(

Yeah, that is hot when you are use to 84. That temperature is our normal high in the Spring.

My parents are hanging in there. Mom takes her mind off her cancer by taking care of dad, who was just diagnosed with emphysema. They kinda of look out for each other. We have a family vacation to the beach planned for the second week in July. They insist on going. My brother and I are concerned but we can't tell them no at this point. It will be a full house we're renting; my wife, son, brother, sister-in-law, niece, and parents.

We continue to pray for you.

What are your plans?

I bet a lot of us will be laying low, and staying inside. It's so unbelievably hot out...

Tonight, we plan to just order a pizza & watch the Brewers-Diamondbacks game. Go Brew Crew =]

And I'm sure we will be grilling out a lot, going for night walks & bike rides, and watching some movies. Should be nice & relaxing.

Harlowe thanks you all for the birthday wishes! She had a fun birthday, opened presents, had her best buddy over to play, and had a special bone-shaped carob cookie w/ "chocolate" frosting & "Happy Birthday Harlowe" written on it- so dang cute!!

I was at Target on my lunch break yesterday, and saw that they had sparklers by the check-out, so I decided to buy some early. (Last year we waited until the last minute, and couldn't find any anywhere) They actually carded me! I couldn't believe that. Not that I minded, I get it, I just never had that happen before. Found it kind of amusing, then was happy @ it because I haven't been carded in a really long time :wink:

Just getting the lawn cut and scooby is outside running in from of the mover with the ball in his mouth. and his tongue hanging out. when the mower stops ,he stops and waits till it starts again. he thinks hes a yound thing.. but there is no stopping him. he goes made if you keep him in. as long as he is happy..
Had 3 pallets today and have not them all sorted so have some to do tomorrow. so friday makes no difference to me :~{{

Hey everyone!

It is 430 in the afternoon and 105 degrees here in hot-for-no-reason Alabama! I just went and hugged a frozen turkey just to cool off for a second! Gonna be 100+ here for the next four or five days and it's only the end of June. Not looking forward to the rest of the summer if this is any indication. I think I'll just be eating salad all week because it's just too hot to turn the stove one. Either that or make my husband grill outside while I stay inside!!

If you're in the heat try to stay cool and if you're in the cool send some my way!!
