wow, is it hot here! I have been reading that lots of you are in this heat right now too. Almost makes you ill to be out in it. So grateful for air conditioning!!

Getting caught up here, at least reading all your posts.

Canada Day tomorrow, lots going on. Party downtown, parade, fireworks, picnics, going to be great!

Hey everyone! Hope ya'll have had a lovely Friday and that nobody melted away today. Gosh it is so hot all over the stinkin' country it seems! Make sure you're staying cool, drinking a lot of water and listening to tons of Christmas music while blasting the AC in the car!

We had a good day today. Charlotte got moved to a new room in the NICU. It's in the portion of the NICU for babies that are no longer needing as much interventions and assistance - they use the term "feeder and grower." Its not only a big step, but also the new room is bigger and has a window! I've spent the last 6 weeks in a really high tech cave, but a cave none the less. I'm glad to see what day light looks like once again! Charlotte hasn't gained any weight in the last 5 days and that is a problem b/c she was already growth restricted when she was born and small for her gestational age. Pray for her that she'll start gaining weight so we can start doing bottle feedings and bring her home!

We got some major great news yesterday too! The first bill from this whole time in the hospital has finally come in. The first bill alone was for $70,000 and our portion that we owe? Absolutely nothing! My hubby works so hard at UPS and really his work hours have been always made it hard for us to have time together, but right now I am so blessed by his job and the insurance they provide.

Anyways, tomorrow I'll be taking my older DD swimming to help cool her off from the heat. We'll be at my parent's house to swim and they have a Hobby Lobby nearby. I'm hoping to get some quiet time away and go check out to see if our's has put any Christmas stuff out. It just makes my heart so happy Maybe I'll even splurge and get a peppermint white chocolate frappacino from Starbucks - I prefer the hot drink, but I think with the heat, the icy cold one will have to do! After that, DD and I will settle in at home and enjoy some down time. I can't think of anything better!

Thanks Louann. My niece had a bad time at her infusion yesterday because they had a hard time getting the IV in. The good news is that her pain is down to a 5 and the orencia seems to be really helping her.

I'm so glad that the meds are starting to work for your niece!

Adrian & I are just hanging out inside here, in the AC! We are preparing for a feast tonight- steaks on the grill, three cheese mashed potatoes, and corn on the cob. We are cutting up some fruits & veggies right now, and mushrooms for the cream sauce to go w/ our steaks. It's one of our favorite recipes!

Next week is going to be interesting. I have jury duty on Monday- again!! Ahhh!!!! Really annoying since I just had it @ 3 months ago. I called to be excused since I was told in March that I was good for two years, but they told me that it doesn't matter since it was a different courthouse...what the heck?! Doesn't make any sense to me, we have a population of over 1.5 million, and you have to call me twice in 3 months?! I just have to laugh, or else I may scream, lol. The thing I hate is going downtown by myself, and having to walk from their parking garage so early in the morning. Not a safe area, and you can't carry any protection since they'll take it away from you @ security. You'd think they'd have a shuttle or something for saftey reasons. Oh well, what are you gonna do?...
Then, with the 4th falling on a Wednesday, we have it off, but go back Thursday. Is that the same for most of you?

Not much going on today, going to do some laundry & housework.

And when I'm finished, going to throw in a dvd of Agatha Christie's Poirot- Hallowe'en Party! I never got to watch the whole thing when it was on tv last year, gotta love Netflix! And besides that, I really need a dose of FALL!

Good evening, MMC!

The sun is finally behind the trees - yay! I am not feeling well - this heat and humidity is finally getting to me. Looks like 10 more days of it, at least - hopefully I will acclimatize to the temps soon! Just finished watering the garden - there are a lot of tomatoes, but the pepper plants still look a bit peaked. I planted a celery today that I started from the bottom portion of one I bought in the store. You soak the bottom root piece in water, changing it every day, and in a matter of days, a new celery starts to appear. It was so cool!

Greasy Skillet starts in a few!

Busy day at work, broke down 12 pallets of merchandise, I am tired from that. I am working tomorrow and then I have 3 days off in a row. Got to get up at 5am.

Whew.... What a day I had today! It all started last night around 10:25pm last night, we had a really wicked storm come thru this area and it hit right over top of us. My house was lucky and didn't loose power, but my grandfather and in-laws house got slammed. They have no power, trees are down everywhere and power lines are down all over the place as well.

I spent the first half of the day getting a generator set up for my grandfathers house (borrowed from my brother) and then I took my own generator down to my in-laws house to get them up and running. The local electric company (BGE) said that power may be out from anywheres from 2-5 days.

The storm has caused 13 deaths and 3 million people are without power over the mid atlantic region. The Governor of Maryland has called for a state of emergency, there are over 463,000 BGE customers without electricity and telephone service here alone. That was one of most powerful storms that I have ever been in, Really I was outside when it hit last night, I thought for sure that it was a tornado (which I have never seen one)...
We were supposed to have my daughters graduation party tomorrow, but I think we may have to postpone things a bit until at least the power gets restored to my In-laws and grandfathers house!

weekend again. Soon be your 4th of july do you guys get that day of ?
hope all is good with each of you this morning and of course all furbabies as well.
have a few hours work to do this morning, i just cant never seem to get on top of it this past while.
going out tonight with 8 other girls for a meal and then we are going with the flow as they say over here. Not really that bothered about going, but what i wood have to listen to .its easier to go lol
weather today is mild but as usual it gives rain. It never seems to stop raining here.
the kids got there holidays from school yesterday and thats them now for 8 weeks . And then next week is the hoildays for workers most firms get 2 weeks of, so a lot wood go on hoilidays round that time. So my suitcases are going really well lol. I will get 2 days of in july the 12th and the 13th as these are public hoildays. The 12th is a big day over here for the protestants lot of parades and things but as usual in this place .the catholic side dont want it. So tensions sometimes be high. Me i could not care less. Live and let live is what i say !!!! Its always about . Ireland/uk. The union jack/tricolour and protestant/catholic. Any excuse on either side to get something started.
anyway i need more tea i think or maybe more sleep. Mmm gonna have to be the tea. So will take to you all soon and each of you take care

This is good to hear that the orencia is working for your niece, still praying for her.
My mom is good. She's been out at my sister's house pretty much every minute that i haven't been there. So that's kept us both out of jail. She still hasn't had any luck finding a new job but she also hasn't looked real hard lately.
Hope your sister's recovery is going well.

The only good thing is the heat is causing some pop up showers and there is a chance that we will get some more rain. I don't have much on the agenda for today. My aunt took my niece's so no babysitting. I'll probably just spend most of the day cleaning my apartment and working on a project for later in the year. In other news: My parents were here for an overnight visit and i got a lot of stuff done. Today i just plan on doing laundry and that's it! (i already got my grocery shopping done with my parents' help ;-))

i plan on going to the mall tomorrow to go to barnes & noble, the movies (to see pixar's brave), maybe buy some new clothes and get a pedicure.

How scary. Thank God you're all ok! I wonder if that's the same storm my brother-in-law had, he's in VA. Their power was out almost 24 hours.

That Agatha Christie movie, Poirot- Hallowe'en Party, was awesome! Loved it! I had dvr'd it last summer, but it got deleted before I could finish it...so I finally found it again. Beautiful scenery! And just the right amount of spooky!

Good Morning MMC!!!!!!! It's going to be another hot one here in central Indy with a high of 98 later today. I don't have much going on today. Church this morning and then back home to watch some of the x games. Hopefully they don't play the same KFC commercial over and over and over again like the race did last night.
