Nothing like popping over to MMC and being greeted with the cheerful "decor" of the site and friendly "faces" of the Countdown on a chilly fall day... just sipping a cup of tea and catching up!

Good afternoon everyone,

It's 'Pines Day! And the final 'Pines Day of "summer," as fall will officially begin on Saturday. Of course, I say "officially" but a chilly and windy morning in Ottawa made it feel as if fall had been around for a couple weeks already. In fact, today was the first day that I had to wear a sweater. Darn you, 4c temperatures!

Carl looks like he knows that the Christmas Blossoms Thread could be making an appearance in a week's time. The trusty camel's decoration is almost on par with those that we will all be photographing at the stores in a short period. Maybe he's holding out on us though. I'm sure the grand finale will come with the 'Pines Day after the unveiling of Crown's wonderful thread! The countdown rolls on, but we're so close to it!

Work is a lot less hectic today. Two of my coworkers have returned and we're now only missing one. It takes quite a load off my shoulders. Yay! Still, we have a bit of a stack to get rid of. I'm sure it won't be done until next week. Oh well!

I don't have many plans for today. I have to go to the gym after work. There is a movie titled "Chasing Sarasota" being debuted at a local independent film theatre this evening. A lot of my friends are going to watch, as it is an Ultimate Frisbee documentary, however, I don't think I can attend. The showing cuts into my gym time a little and I can't afford to mess up my routine of rehab right now. Although my knee feels like it has been progressing quite well. I'm still very hopeful that I will be able to practice a week from Sunday. We'll see how it goes!

Glad to see so many smiling faces at the 'Pines today. There is so much to celebrate. It's all nearly downhill from here. That homestretch is coming a lot sooner than we think! Have a great Wednesday, everyone!

quick check in between dashes....was at work by 6:30 this morning, home by 1pm, shower, change, some time for lunch and to check in here. Have to be back at work by 2:15 to pick up fellow workers then head off to London for a meeting. Hope to be home again by 7pm.

Brrrrr...I actually broke out the cuddle duds!

"Cuddle duds"---that's a new one on me---I love a colorful phrase! It's great feeling in winter to get home from work and pull on some cuddle duds.

The sun's out here and the sky is a brilliant blue. The temp hasn't quite reached 70F. (And I'm stuck here at my desk!)

I gave in at lunch & turned the furnace on - just for a bit, to take the chill out of the air! Our house just felt so chilly!!!! I know...I'm a wimp! :cold: I love the smell of the 1st time the furnace is turned on for the year. :grin:

My sil is having surgery tomorrow morning at 11:00 - a mastectomy - so any prayers would be appreciated. I sure hope & pray it all goes well! She will be going through radiation, 5 days a week for 6 weeks after the surgery. Scary stuff!

Great day at work, good event at school. Real busy. Good times, though.

Childhood bestfriend's dad had a massive stroke. It doesnt' look too good. I try during these times to not look at the bad and that he may soon be taken from us, but rather I try to focus on why he was here....

Husband, father, grandfathers, Christian, friend, youth volunteer, business owner...and not too bad a golfer.

Add all those up=blessed life.

Got back from the movies with a friend. We watched the new Resident Evil and the Possession. They were ok. But now all is right with the world. I'm posting here and listening to Burl Ives - Christmas cant be far away! Its in the 40's right now. Had to put the heat on in the van on the way home from the movies. I was playing Christmas music in the van today from my iphone. Man I love it! Carl informed me he is decorating for Fall/Halloween with ....ummm...turkey coffee..? Wait. Carl. You serious? Yes? Oh...Ummmm ok. Hmmmm. That Carl is always doing something wacky! Hah! Well I'm going to head off to bed since its 12:26am very shortly. But I wanted to post and make sure everyone is staying warm, or cool! Have a good evening!

I had to laugh at this, Undrtakr. My husband always teases me because I love horror movies & Halloween, etc. Yet, I'm also this animal & Christmas lover. Opposite ends of the spectrum!

Good morning and hello, MMC! How are you all feeling this morning? Sleep well?

I woke up a little bit earlier than usual because I was absolutely freezing! I looked at the weather app on my phone and it said the temperature was only 41 degrees. No wonder I was cold! We actually had to turn the heat on here, for the first time since last winter.

There's one good thing that comes with cold weather - Christmas!

I am seriously dying for Walmart to put out their Christmas stuff. They have all of the trees out, but they are up way high where no one can get to them yet. I need my cute wrapping paper! I already have money saved to get myself some decorations, lol, aren't I sad? Most people my age are like - "shoes!!!!" or "purses!!!" but I want Christmas things.

I've always been the same way! We're all kindred spirits here =] :hi:
