Hubby is grilling pork ribs tonight for dinner. I just finished making the barbecue sauce, one that used Southern Comfort Black Cherry Whiskey. Not too bad, even if I do say so myself!

Have any left? I could go for a drink or ten.

Good Evening MMC!!! It was a chilly day here in central Indy. I think we topped out around 54 degree's. It actually felt pretty good to me. It was perfect for the fall festival. Having to take my 2 niece's along ruined it though. They were just horrible. I finally took them back to my aunt's car and made them sit there and wait until my mom and aunt were done eating so we could leave. Oh well. Maybe I'll run back out tomorrow before the race. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!

Hey MMC! I hope you're all enjoying you're weekend! Talk soon!

^^^Absolutely gorgeous, Undrtakr!!^^^

Good morning, Christmas friends. Hubby and I drove to Redding yesterday for doctors' appointments. On the way, I suggested our having a Thanksgiving dinner on Monday. He agreed!!! (Later last evening, I heard him telling a friend of ours that we were celebrating Canadian Thanksgiving.) At one of the doctor's offices, there was an OLD issue of Sunset magazine (November 2011). We decided to try the recipes from it for Monday because we have a set menu for the US Thanksgiving. Anyway, here's our menu (most recipes from the mag!): Brined Turkey (not from the mag, but we know this is good and can't stray from our regular recipe; we bought an eight pounder); Sage Gravy (our regular recipe); Wild Mushroom and Butternut Squash Bread Pudding; Fingerling Potatoes with Bacon Cream; Roasted Cauliflower and Shallots; Cranberry Sauce (store-bought); Homemade Rolls; Chocolate Chunk Pumpkin Cupcakes; and Pouilly-Fuisse White Burgundy (thanks to the recommendation by LaurieBear).

That sounds "YUMMO!" =)

Good almost afternoon dedicated Christmas enthusiasts!

All is well in dreary Cornwall except the internet connection which is non existent for some reason. My apologies for this.w

It's a long weekend Saturday and I hope you all are enjoying yourselves! Let's get to the count!!

Days to the Christmas Season: 38
Days to Christmas: 80
Days to our next milestone: tomorrow!

That's right folks tomorrow we hit the 90% milestone on our way to the Season! The homestretch is so close! How exciting
Temperatures here feel like fall. It's real comfortable and the leaves are shining. It truly is the October long weekend!

Have a wonderful day and be ready for a magical milestone tomorrow!!!

Thanks for doing the countdown, Brent!! It just put a huge smile on my face!

We don't know how old he is. He was full grown when he showed up here and I don't remember when that was. It seems like he has always been here ~ he fit in almost from the start. He was very cheerful this morning ~ wanted his peanut butter flavored dog bone

Aww, what a doll. Glad he had a good morning!! Please give him a hug for us. xo

Good evening everyone

Good Evening, irishsnow!!

I am a little over a third of the way through the rough draft of my brother's book and I find myself wanting to peek ahead to see what happens next ~ it is pretty good! It is a real rough draft as there are a lot of typos and such (some of which are quite funny), but as I was getting further in, I started to ignore all that and just enjoyed the story

You're brother's book sounds really good!! How exciting for him & you! =)

Hey All! Just writing you from the treadmill hahaha trying to burn some calories before I feast at not one, but two thanksgiving dinners this week hahaa yum yum can't wait!! I am painting some mini pumpkins tonight

Merry Christmas to all & to all a good night!

Happy Thanksgiving, Britt!! Enjoy your dinners & time w/ family!

***Good evening, all! I'm halfway caught up on the countdown, but need to stop here. I have to get ready to go over to a friend's house. We're doing a scary movie night. We're both B horror movie fans, so it's time to eat junk food & be scared! I'll "see" you all again tomorrow. Have a wonderful night!!***

:boo:

Wayne, my dad and I just got back from the Airshow with the Thunderbirds and Canadian Snowbirds headlining the show. We had a blast!

I just love how my dad and I both have a passion for airshows. We have been going to them together for over 20 years. Looking forward to another 20 years of airshows with him!!! :D

Undrtaker, love the fall photo!

Caninemom, you always have the cutest signatures!

Meceka, keep us posted on your brother's book. Will he be publishing it soon?

Made, hopefully tomorrow you can get back to the Fall Fest. By the way, remember me worrying about rain during the airshow? We barely got a mist for about 2 minutes all day but it was freeeeezing! We still had fun and got to watch them fly!

hey....c'mon i'm a Yankees fan! i've been reading what you & xmas think of us but not said nothing yet. are we still friends?

Of course we are still friends!!! As an Orioles fan I am supposed to hate the Yankees, I don't hate their fans though. I still remember that playoff game when the O's were playing the Yankees and that kid reached over the wall to catch the ball and the umpire called it a home run. GRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! And they made that kid a celebrity!!! It isn't real hate, it's all in fun for the sport, just like as a Ravens fan I hate the Steelers. I knew somebody that liked the Redskins and the Cowboys, I told them that wasn't allowed, you can't like rival teams.

Go O's!!!

YAY!!!!!

With the Red Sox out of the running (we won't go there ...), I'd really like to see the Orioles win. (I'm originally from Maryland.) Do they still call 'em The Birds sometimes, or is that old? I used to have a bobblehead figure of the old Oriole mascot.

They call them The Birds, The O's ( or if you are from the Dundalk area it's Dem O's). As far as the old mascot, they went back to that, they had the more realistic looking bird on their hats, now they went back to the old one. I remember people used to make fun of the old one saying it looked more like a duck than an oriole bird.

Good afternoon, MMC! The weekend seems to sadly be flying by already. Today I am making homemade Italian wedding soup for dinner. Any takers? I went out on Thursday with a bunch of my friends and it was a lot of fun. I even met a few new people through mutual friends so at least I will have some people to go out with while my friends go back to college. There are some "fall breaks" so my friends are back for the weekend. I think I am going to stay in tonight and relax with a couple of TV shows or movies. I like to relax just as much as I like to go out :] All of my neighbors are decorated for the fall and for Halloween. Pretty soon we'll be seeing the Christmas decorations! Have a great day, everyone!

And I almost forgot to say thanks for all of your kind well wishes and comments when I was really sick this week. I still have the cold and a sore throat but I am finally getting better. Hopefully it goes away for good within a couple of more days. Colds love to stick around with me!

I am glad you are feeling better !!!! xo
