Christmas Countdown - 2012

I am going to be behind for the next 6 1/2 weeks because of radiation, but I will try to get caught upon the weekends. We get back so late, and then it is time for dinner and chores. I will try to check in in the mornings as many times as I can. We were able to get into the doctor's early (4:50 p.m.), but we stopped for dinner on our way home to celebrate our 14th wedding anniversary. I think of y'all often. TTYL

Hello all!

Another day come and gone...they seem to all go by so quickly now! Is this what married life does to you?? =)

Had a semi-busy day...I went down to the DMV and got my new license card with my new last name! It is still so weird to see it printed on documents, mail and cards now...I have to keep reminding myself that *I* am that person now!! So weird. I then went to Target to buy cards and a gift for my "nephew"'s baptism Sunday, a card for a friend's wedding Saturday, and another for some close friends' anniversary. After that, hubs and I went to his parents' for dinner and to show them the wedding pictures. His mom didn't think they were bad but understands our frustrations over all the pictures not taken and the blurriness of the ones we really liked. We are still getting pictures in from friends' phones and others are coming forward and saying they have some from actual cameras, so hopefully we'll have everyone's soon. This whole process is just...so...frustrating.

I am also thinking about doing my first 5K on Thanksgiving morning! I have been wanting to do one for so so long and I figured...why not now? Sure it will probably be horribly cold but if I can do one in the cold, there's no reason why I won't be able to do ones in the spring, summer, and (earlier) fall!

Anyway, Sangria just jumped up on my lap and is impeding my ability to type comfortably, so I suppose that means I should go to bed for the night. The Pines was a blast tonight, I must say! =)

Good Morning to all of you

For me it is the last work day of this week, I have tomorrow off! Yippie!! :???:

Tomorrow I will go clothes shopping, I need some new pullovers and other winter clothes. On saturday the plan is to do grocery shopping and house cleaning. Sunday morning I'll teach my sunday school class and the rest of the day I will relax.




I don't know the movie but we tried to play the Pingu christmas story. I guess the Pingu series didn't run outside German speaking part of europe. Pingu is a children series around a penguin named Pingu and his family and friends. The whole series was made of Plasticine and was filmed like a cartoon. Pingu is still very famous around here.



It sounds like you had a blast! Your granddaughter is so smart! I wouldn't go into such a ride even if I would get a million swiss francs for it!



Wow you can go to see Bruce Springsteen live? I envy you! Enjoy the concert and the time with your mother. Take good care of your health and take the medication. I wish you a speedy recovery.

well i got through the pantry & the food cabinets. need lots more baking stuff than i originally thought. i found a crate in the pantry i have for crafty stuff & inside i found a kit for Santa ornaments. when i 1st got the kit i made 1 ornament. i think it's time to do another. there's all color sequins for his hat, face, beard & everything. if i ever figure out how to put pics up i'll show you. undrtakr helped me before but it's been so long i kind of forgot how. i am always in awe @ the pics y'all post on here.

Good evening! How are you all? All is well here. Just sitting by myself and relaxing. The kids are with DH at his parents for the evening - he's going out to Notre Dame two weekends from now, for the Pitt vs. Notre Dame game for 4 days, so they are talking about the trip. I couldn't go up since I work tonight.

How was everyone's day? Mine was good - I had a busy night at work last night. I work tonight yet, then I am off tomorrow - looking forward to it as I always do. I think I am going to wrap some of the kids gifts. I know it's kind of earlier to do it, but the gifts are really pilling up and I need to stack them somewhere, so I think it will be better if they're wrapped.

I'm excited the new podcast is out. I am going to listen to it here shortly and catch up on some posts.

feeling so festive and also really looking forward to halloween! so many christmassy days out planned, shame they cost so much money, but what can you do? i'm going to try not to stress about it. i can still have a wonderful christmas on a careful budget.

going to cook a lovely roast pork dinner this sunday and stay in all day watching christmas films. i just LOVE this time of year.

I am looking at yankee candles right now. Last year I ordered a couple sampler of the christmas season candles and we loved them (besides the one that cinamon flavor was way to strong). Now I would like to buy a couple of the middle jars. Unfortunately they are pretty expensive and I am not able to buy them on foreign stores.

We have a artificial christmas tree since three years. The real ones are great, but there are very expensive because most of them have to be importeted and my dad thinks it is a shame to buy a real one only for a couple of days. My sister isn't very happy about the artificial one, but it looks very real. Unless you go very close to it you don't see that it is artificial.

well.....actually everything i've learned about computers has come from my kids (sad, ain't it?) back when undrtakr showed me how to post pics, i could get them on here but then it would say they were the wrong size or something & i haven't the faintest clue what to do about that. i think i need the computer handbook for dummies.lol. the kids get so out done w/ me when they are trying to show me how that they end up doing it for me..it's a vicious cycle. lol hubby will show me & the way he does it sometimes it'll work & sometimes it won't.big bummer!

i did manage to get a very few on here but that's it. girl if i could, i would have pics all over. so just wait till i learn....look out! hehehehe

the trees i am starting on today are @ the flower shop i work @. there's no way boss would agree to real trees!!!! i always use artificial @ home also. i think real 1's are very nice, just not for me!

Hubby & I flipping channels waiting for the Yankee / Tiger game (that was ultimately canceled) but anyway at 8:00 PM my door bell rings, I live in a condo that is gated so we figured it was just one of our neighbors, I go to the door and nobody is there!!! BUT!!!! Wait for it........ A plastic bowl filled with candy and little nicknacks with a note stating You've Been Booed!!!! The note reads....

You've Been Boo-ed!

Good Morning MMC!!!!!! It's going to be a windy day here with a high of 59 and more storms predicted for tonight. I don't have much on the agenda for today. Just some cleaning and maybe a nap or two. I might make some more bananna bread too. First things first though. I have to get dinner in the crock pot and then kick back to watch Dan's Home for the Holidays on QVC at 10am. The doctor says I have psoriatic arthritis. All arthritis is painful and this is not nearly as bad as rheumatoid arthritis or the arthritis that Made's dear little niece has but it IS a very painful condition, I won't lie. There have been plenty of days when my husband had had to help stand up to get moving. I have to see a rheumatologist and my doctor also started me on Cele**rex. I can tell you that within an hour of taking that first dose my pain started to abate and even now 9 hours later it continues to work and I have NO PAIN. I will see the rheumatologist and discuss their recommendations and go from there.

I have been back on Jenny Craig now for about three weeks and I have lost about 7 pounds !!!! I only have 15 more to go !!

CM3 so happy to read that you can get so relief from your pain and WAY to go on the 7 lbs WOOO HOOOO go CM3 go!!!

We took our grandchildren to the State Fair of Texas last night. My 3 year old granddaughter was fearless and wanted to ride EVERYTHING, even the rides she was not tall enough for. We went to one ride (as pictured below) that looks very scary. She wanted to ride it really bad but as soon as a scary clown stepped out on the balcony (where the eyes of the skull is) she said, "I don't want to be with him"! She decided not to ride it because of the clown! I can't say I blame her but funny that the ride itself didn't look scary to her, just the clown!!!

It was crowded last night but we had a blast! I laughed so much with the kids when we rode rides together. Fun times!!!

Oh I REALLY like you GD, 1st I love rides, faster, scarier, higher all good by me BUT CLOWNS!!! NO WAY NO HOW I've never cared for them
