Good morning, MMC! I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday. The week is flying by already! I am sad that I will be missing the Pines tonight. Drink one of Carl's concoctions for me! ;]

I am in a rush this morning! I am packing a lot of last minute things, weighing my suitcase, tossing liquids into the bag, and hoping that I didn't forget anything. I hate that feeling - no matter what, I keep thinking that I forgot something. I made a list a few weeks ago and as I pack things, I scratch them off. I hope I didn't forget anything obvious. I have to finish getting ready and then my flight is in a few hours. I will hopefully talk to you guys at the beginning of next week! I might be able to pop online at some point since I will have internet access in the room.

Wish me luck for a safe flight :] I will miss chatting with you all - take care of yourselves and your families! I will keep praying for you all daily!

I forgot to say that we went to the Pumpkin Patch yesterday.

Look at that blue sky! It was an absolutely gorgeous day. We came home with 1 80-pound pumpkin, 3 average size pumpkins, and 2 tiny white pumpkins. Plus 2 mums. We also went to the Unicorn bookstore, where I went nuts buying old Christmas books.

Wow that sky was beautiful!!! Sounds like you had a great time. What books did you get? Have you started reading any of them?

After I made few phone calls over the period of two hours, and me telling them I was going to cancel, I finially got a hold of the manager and then, Miraculously; they resolved the problem and as a "I'm sorry" gesture, they gave us the Encore and Starz channels for two years for free. We also got a 200.00 gift card for siwitching providers and 50% off of Epic's for two years as well - Overall, not too bad for a little haggling...

So here I am up and running and I'm liking it so far, right now, I am considering myself lucky and counting my blessings!

I got a question for you. Maybe someone can help me. I'm very interested in the american history, mostly in the time of the westward expansion and the whole daily life of the pioneers during that time (I honestly admit I got inspired through Little house on the prairie). I read a lot of books about it but I would like to join a online community to talk about those times. Does anyone knows such a community or forum? I searched with Uncle Google but so far didn't find anything.

Pines day posts!!!!

Hello all. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday. It's only two months from today until Christmas Eve! That's crazy. But, there's a lot of Christmas cheer between now and then so let's all enjoy it. Have a great rest of the week!

Yeah it is now isn't that an awesome thought only two months away, I have to admit it is by far my favorite day, there is an inner peace about it, even on the years that I had to work, I just am very excited and cannot wait to do my Christmas Cards.

Good morning, Christmas friends. Like all of you, I look at the count and stand amazed! I remember how some of us were lamenting the end of the Season last year, but time has quickly flown; and we are now at a new beginning! I LOVE this time of year! Hubby is taking me to work a little early. A friend is driving me to my radiation appointment this afternoon because Hubby has to go to the Elks Lodge and work on the Scouts' Dinner for tonight. Since Hubby is taking me to work, I don't have to have my friend follow me home to park my car. Then after the radiation, we are treating her and her husband to the dinner. That way, it's a win-win situation: I am thanking her and the Scouts make money! Have a great day, everyone!

Right I was thinking the same thing ~ I know it is radiation and I pray for you and your family, but what a lovely end to it, with good friends and your husband and all for a good cause! You always know how to keep a positive frame of mind and that by far is some POWERFUL medicine!

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

Wow, it's crazy here at work today. Doggone engineering consultants for the power companies are trying to prove that they are needed, so they force me into revision after revision. Grrr.

My mom has decided to visit the Smoky Mountains by herself since no one else can take to go with her. I don't usually mind her going alone; her place is in a great area, and she's still very capable and independent, but she's getting over a recent shoulder surgery. She saw her doctor this morning, and he released her to drive and told her a trip like this was ok, so who am I to try to stop her? I'm just jealous that I can't go, too!

Could I ask you something? I see you writing a lot about elks (wapitis). Are they your favourite animals? Or does your hubby work with them? Sorry for being curious.

I am sure SW got back to you I haven't finished catching up but it is an organization, a social club that - it also has a rich history as it was founded in the mid to late 1800's they do a lot of good in the communities they are in and like all things here in the US it also has a past where it excluded certain people but overall it should be stated that they are an asset where ever they are always doing good deeds and helping their neighbors.

Can't believe how fast time is moving by. Our family's Christmas season always starts the weekend of Nov 9. It is son's birthday and since he was 5, we go to Pigeon Forge for the weekend to celebrate. They turn on their Christmas lights that weekend and we always look forward to it. Our son will turn 17 this year so he probably will not be going with us too many more times.

I love this ~ if you take pictures I hope you will share them I have been to Pigeon Forge but never during Christmas.

Tomorrow night I am getting together with 2 (maybe 3) friends & their kids to watch It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown AND Garfield Halloween! I am bringing some warm wine with mulling spices & of course we'll have snacks! We are all bringing something to work on while we watch... (I'm bringing my afghan, another friend is making an afghan & I'm not sure what the other 2 are bringing to work on) - I'm really looking forward to it!! Go figure tomorrow is supposed to be almost 80º & we planned for warm wine. Ah well...it will set the mood for some awesome Halloween shows. This might have to become a yearly tradtions!

I posted in a reply that I watched a cute Christmas movie last night "Christmas Angel" on Netflix. I will definately watch that one again. Sweet movie!

I saw that on Boston.com today. Of course I'm worried, but I had to laugh. There's a little-known 1940 movie called "Sandy is a Lady" (starring Baby Sandy). My first thought was, Sandy is no lady!

I'll certainly be keeping an eye on the weather forecasts.

No, sorry I don't make the spices homemade... we take the easy way out! I buy the box of Aspen cider spices they sell at Hallmark. I just love that stuff - with wine OR cider!! :smile:

Good evening, Christmas family

I am on my way to bed. I am super, super tired tonight. I am a little worried about my Hermione. The right side of her face is all swollen up. She is not acting sick. She is breathing just fine, playing normally, eating normally but that side of her face is REALLY swollen. I looked in her mouth, no sores, no tenderness. I can't figure it out. I am going to see if it resolves in the next day or so and if not, to the doctor she goes.
