So glad to hear from you!!!

Hi everyone!!! I know, I know, but I've had no power, no where to connect to let you all know how things where going. I just went back to work today, I am at the Starbucks by my house now, they have power!!! It is crazy, I just hope everyone else who was touched by this is OK.

Still no power at home, work is up but I haven't even time to each my salad, but our email & phones are still down at work. We are using walkie talkies to communicate!!!

It is CHILLY outside, so, unlike Made, we turned on the heat just to take the chill off.

I'm cold over here too....though I have (and have had for awhile) the heat on!!! It is a nasty ol day out there...windy/spitting rain/36-37º - BRRRR! If I didn't have the furnace on, I would never get out from under my blankey! Lol! Have fun at your sisters...stay warm!!!

I have a secret weapon. My dryer. I just do a load of laundry and the dryer heats up the apartment. Plus the neighbor on each side of me have theirs on so it keeps we warm.

Happy Halloween everyone!!!!! Hope everyone's doing well.....special thoughts and prayers for anyone affected by Superstorm Sandy. I saw in some places Trick or Treating was moved to tomorrow or later because of the storm--how about in your area?

Hey everyone, just wanted to wish everyone Happy Halloween and remind everyone that Hallmark Channel is showing Christmas movies all weekend. Only 2 more days...I can't wait! I'm going to watch movies and decorate all weekend. This is the weekend I wait for all year!!! :tree:

Good Wednesday, Pinesday, Halloween afternoon, my Christmas friends!

Nancy gave me my lunch hour marching orders, so I ate a quick bowl of cereal then got the leaf blower out and blew off the front & back porches, and the sidewalk. Then I had to wipe off the rocking chairs. We can't have those little trick-or-treaters seeing a mess at our house, now can we?

It's a pretty day here, but still windy. Some of the guys here at work brought their outdoor gas cookers and made some blackened snapper. I don't really care for fish, but this was good stuff! If I can get them to show me how to do that, I'll have that at home!

I hope y'all have a great Halloween! cheesy

I could eat fish every day! Plus it is so good for you! I used to work at Lineberger's Fish Camp when I was a freshman in college. What a treat to take dinner home each night I worked.

I know very behind, just catching up... Oh yes my 3rd Pumpkin Spice by the way!!!!

Good afternoon,

VERY busy day today, everyone seems to be taking heed and prepping for Sandy. I have butterflies in my stomach over this thing, especially with the possibility of losing power for days. We just went through that last year at this same time of year, where the power went out on a Saturday night and didn't come back until Thursday evening. I really don't want to miss the beginning of Christmas music on Music Choice for the second year in a row. cheesy I hope all of our friends in the path of Sandy stay safe over the next few days.

Xmas... thinking of you and your family and so many others right now...

i would like to ask y'all to pray for my Daddy, he has pneumonia. he's taking his meds & is resting @ home.

MMT, hope your father is doing better, thinking of you and hoping he is recovering

"One In The Park As Well....The Sturdy Kind That Doesn't Mind The Snow..." !!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Soon the bells will start - (for both CM3 & SW)

For once we may get it worse than you this time, since we're closer to the coast. I'm nervous about being without power and heat for days. On my suggestion, we went out and got a camp lantern and some warm sleeping bags just in case. We got some bottled water and nonperishable food items yesterday. Either I'm paranoid or ahead of the curve. We'll know which soon enough.

MC hoping you and your family are OK.

My 87 year old grandpa was in a car accident tonight. Someone ran a stop sign and plowed right into him. His whole car is totaled and all of the airbags deployed. I still cannot get over this happening. I am relieved to say that he walked away with no injuries aside from soreness from wearing his seat belt and the airbags.

I am so glad he is OK, that is all that really matters, ((HUGS))

Good evening, Christmas family

I am totally getting a BAD case of CHRISTMAS BRAIN as our dear friend Merry Noel says !! I am watching the Hallmark channel right now and there is a preview of the upcoming Christmas movies on NEXT FRIDAY !!! Yay !!!!!

I am also really excited because I have followed all the "Good Witch" movies on Hallmark and now there is a new one tomorrow night !!

It is really cold here. I have a fire going and I am watching the original "The Good Witch's Garden.

Praying for all who are in the path of this horrible storm. xo

I got an e-mail from my company today as apparently their headquarters is right in the path of the storm as they are in Rockville, Maryland. They are keeping their fingers crossed just like everyone else.

Stay safe, dear Christmas family xo

CM3... I set up my DVR to record the Good Witch series I know it recorded it now I cannot wait for the power to come back so I can watch them, I do so love that series, funny the 1st time I watched it I didn't but the next year I watched it again, and I did!!! Glad I did that!!!

Please pray for my mom I am at hospital with her, she may have had a mini stroke. She collapsed at home just over an hour ago. Had a bunch of tests done just waiting for doctor to come.

CS... Sorry I am late praying for your mom

Heya everyone! I hope you are enjoying your weekend. :] I spent my day in different shopping centres with another student from Azerbaijan. She purchased a lot of stuff while I bought a pj set for my mum. I also came across a very nice jumper but its price is just mental... £35! Also, I must admit 'Tk Maxx' and 'Matalan' are on their way to Christmas preparation! There were so many nice Christmas stuff displayed! I came across some Christmas candles which smelled wonderful in ginger and cinemmon. It costed £3 each. Still pretty expensive but I hope to get them for less a week before Christmas and may way home. :] It's terribly cold in my room because my heater isn't working properly. :/ I'm off to make a cup of hot cacao. Enjoy your Saturday guys! xx

Sounds like you had a lovely time, hope you get that heater fixed soon!!! Did you have any marshmellows with your coco???

Thank you all for your prayers!

Mom did have a mini stroke. She has very high blood pressure for which she is now on medication for. She is home now and feeling better. Arrangements are being made for her to go to the stroke clinic for a treatment plan.
I am tired, thinking of having a nap, but most likely will just wait or I will not be able to sleep later.

Thanks again everyone!

CS... Praying for you all

That's pretty cool!!!

For future reference. If just copy the IMG code under the picture on photobucket and paste it in your post, the picture will show up on here.

Thanks for that helpful hint Made

Brent, I hope Kim's back is better soon!

Seawaters, I hope your doctor can give something energizing! {{{HUGS}}} and prayers on the way!

LB, I didn't like the first GW when I watched, either. Guess I'm going to have to give the series another try cheesy

I could eat fish every day! Plus it is so good for you! I used to work at Lineberger's Fish Camp when I was a freshman in college. What a treat to take dinner home each night I worked.
Our family used to eat at Lineberger's every Friday. Part of the fun was waiting in line to get in and talking to folks you knew. Twin Tops is about the only one left of the old Gastonia "fish camps."

I wonder if we ever met and just didn't know it! I worked there in 1965-67. We went to Twin Tops when we were "home" in 2010.

Our neighborhood (soon to be hit by Sandy), is getting a little wild tonight. The people two streets down are having their annual outdoor Halloween party. Their band this year is an improvement over those in past years, but they are also very loud. So is everyone else around here for some reason. There were fireworks all over the place earlier, and someone else on another street had a party this afternoon. There is still somebody down by the creek setting off 'blockbuster' fireworks every now and then. Between them and the band, I think I'm glad I don't have to get up for church tomorrow. The Church Council decided that they would preempt anyone trying to come to Church in high winds and heavy rain. That, and it's always the elderly congregants that feel obligated to come to church no matter what the weather. Poor old folks! Tomorrow's Reformation Sunday, too, which is a big deal in the Lutheran church. Ah well, I guess I'll just sing "A Mighty Fortress" and protest something from home.

Wow, it's getting really windy here already. I'm glad I took my outside Halloween stuff down today. All of you folks on the east coast take care!

Thank you MB... I know isn't it odd 1st time my Halloween decorations are down - it really stinks. But, we have had a TON of kiddo's this year that is awesome, hubby said he is answering the door non-stop!!!

Awesome time at the family wedding yesterday!

Costumes were a riot!!

Time to recover to start another week tomorrow and another milestone!

Cheers!!

ML

MC, so glad you had fun!!!

Oh well! I just found out I am making dinner for our church friends tonight!! at this point brandi is doing good to get to the table..so its up to me to make dinner..I think I will make chicken and rice with mashed potatos and rolls and beans..I know it's too starchy but I am not a chef and sure don't want to try any new recipes on new folks! this is our sunday school class btw.lol Please pray yall

LOL... wish I could have seen this I would have sent you a Fool-Proof menu for None-Cooks, it is the one thing hubby makes when he has to cook!!!Hope it was GREAT!

Morning, everybody! Did anyone see that Mac Truck? Because I think one ran me over....

Today is going to be an easy, restful day. No running around for me. The only thing I'm going to do is pick up the house for a few minutes because it needs it! I will be around...see yall later!

Hope you are feeling better

Mac? I wouldn't be caught dead in a Mac!!!! That was a Freightliner and I told you to watch out!!!

I hope you feel better soon!!!!!!!

LOL!!!

Hello, everyone, and a happy Reformation Sunday to you (Reformation day will actually be October 31). It's been windy here all morning, but no worse than with a usual thunderstorm. I understand that Sandy is over North Carolina right now, and should be here by Monday night. That means I have some more time to fill up more water bottles, just in case.

MB hope you and your family are safe

Did this work?

I love it, is that your kitty!!!! Beautiful (both kitty and furniture)

I have been really keeping an eye on this storm all week and last night I decided to play it safe.I spent the day yesterday prepping my grandfathers house, got the generator all set up and ready to go at his house, put stuff away, covered up his woodpiles with tarps, caulked and sealed his roof/ house and I installed a new electrical transfer switch/ central station at his house, so that it's just a snap for the generator to take over in case his power fails.

After that, I got home to my house yesterday evening and then got my house ready for this storm, I took down all my Halloween decorations that I put up last week, brought in all my deck furniture, got a spare propane tank for the grill, test fired the generator, filled up all the vehicles with gas and cut the lawn; Wheewwww.... I figure it's better to be prepaired, safe, then be sorry....

Now I'm at work, getting my hours in, just in case I cannot make it in Monday or Tuesday....

XmasT, hope you are all well

So....it's the little things that you appreciate.....

Sitting here...relaxing...watching tv.....doing a little work....and my wife is sitting next to me working on her Christmas list....

Brings a smile to my face....

It is the little things, with no power hubby and I are still having a ball together, we have mastered the game of crazy 8's, I still suspect him of cheating but he says innocent until proven guilty, I just may have to without desert!!! LOL

We may have. I would have been 7 in 1965. It was a Friday night tradition until my wife and I moved away in 1987. We usually go to Twin Tops when we go back 'home' to see our parents.

Thanks Meceka!!!

Meceka, you know I think I watched it the 1st time and was like oh this is silly and didn't give it a chance, plus I thought it was slow to start. But, the 2nd and 3rd movies IMO are much better but it is nice to see how the whole series started you know.

So glad to hear from you lauriebear!!!!! xx

Thanks CLC!!!

I also wanted to thank you are for the good wishes, incase I miss a post here and there don't think I won't be trying to get to them all I will and you are all with me too. Again, thank you all (((((HUGS)))))) hoping everyone was safe from harm and made it through

I can't wait until November first to listen to Christmas carols. I am officially starting now. It's November first somewhere, right?!

Yes, that's my Baby!

She is BEAUTIFUL!!!

Good afternoon!!! I'm feeling really Christmassy right now!! I'm listening to Christmas music & getting ready to head to my sisters for a walk, then supper, then........
IT'S CHRSTMAS/ladies night at the hardware store (6:00-8:30)!!! Oh how I love this night!!!!

Well, we are (almost) all closed up at the lake. I cleaned everything up & brought stuff home. Such a sad day. Thankfully I have the Christmas open house to look forward too tonight!!! And in 2 weeks the lake neighbor ladies are getting together for a holiday open house in a town 50 minutes south of here. Looking forward to that too!

A tiny little kitty found its way to our trailer after everyone else had left today. This is not the 1st time a kitty shows up on the last day at the lake! Weird. But this time it picked our trailer. I gave it a couple pieces of cheese, & crackers. It came into our trailer, almost fell asleep. Oh I wanted to take it home so bad, but my hubby would have a fit. I put a towel outside in a corner for it & I left 1/2 of a hot dog bun. If it's still there later I'll think of something. I sent out texts to see if anyone knew of anybody wanting a kitty. It was so sweet. Broke my heart!!! I will keep an extra close watch on it with the bad weather coming in. If worse comes to worse my hubby might have to suck it up & become a cat owner! Hee hee hee!!

I better get ready to head to my sisters. I'm glad I had a chance to read posts on a Sunday!

Have a great day!!! STAY SAFE EVERYONE!!!!

Oh Holiday I haven't fully caught up hoping you & your family is safe... and how is the kitty???? Did it get a home??? Is it with you???
